I'd mentioned when we booked that it was our golden wedding - we were given a room with a great view, chocolates in the room and a voucher for drinks at the bar. We had everything we wanted within a 5 minute walk - Vue cinema, Grosvenor casino, Wetherspoons, great museum across the road. Bus station and station just a short walk away, plenty of bars/restaurants in the area and 3 shopping centres within a 10 minutes walk. The staff were very helpful, nothing was ever any trouble and the breakfasts are well worth the money. We booked the Ibis purely because we had stayed in one in Bilbao - so glad we did as we will stay there again if we're in Aberdeen

Great friendly staff with a smile at check-in...nice. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the a late check-out at noon was welcome. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the rail and bus stations, so convenient if you are using public transport.
Our room on the first floor was next to or above a neighbouring gym. Generally this wasn't a problem...until a class got going and then the thumping music and amplified instructions from the trainer were quite intrusive. We were going to ask to change rooms, but after about 45 minutes it was quite again so we didn't bother.

Very pleasent hotel with everything you need for such a great price. Shiprow is right in the heart of the city so very easy to walk to all the attractions in Aberdeen. Room was cleaned each day. Kettle and tea/coffee making facilities always appreciated. Friendly and helpful staff.
This is my second time in an Ibis hotel and I've realised these rooms are not the quietest. You can clearly hear the cleaners and other external sounds, which is more down to how the rooms are built. If you get up early it won't be an issue, but if you like to sleep in a bit you'll be woken up by cleaners.

For me it was the convenience to city centre and proximity to railway station together with reasonable rates that helped me choose Ibis for my overnight stay. All boxes ticked. Clean bed/en suite, walkable to town for some food and shopping. Was s little rowdy it being close to the port and it being a Friday night. Have to sleep with open windows but came armed with amazing earplugs so no probs! Bonus for me was the warmth and friendliness of the desk staff - nothing was too much trouble for them; smiling welcome, help to book taxi etc. Cant comment on breakfast, had to leave without. Got exactly what I paid for and expected with the added bonus of well yrsined desk staff!
Another plug socket nearer to bed for charging phone.

the TV frame was dusty and the supervisor manager guy lacked in customer service BIG TIME

Location was perfect for our needs.
Morning traffic Noise when window was open for fresh air when sleeping. Maybe better air on would help.

Good selection , everything you could want , Toaster was very slow , Food Good and you could eat as little or as much as you could manage
Only thing on last night , a Guest staying opposite was Rather merry , woke us up and continued to make a racket outside in hallway heard clicking , which I presume was his lighter , on last morning came up in lift with guests next door , who remarked they'd noticed a cigarette butt outside the person concerned Door on the floor , which was directly across the hall from them , but that is not the Hotels Fault , just surprised he didn't set off the. The hotel is in the center of the city and close to the train/bus station. The room is efficient and comfortable. No frills, but I didn't pay enough for frills. The breakfast buffet had more than enough choices. The staffis friendly. The room was well maintained and spotless. This is not a luxury hotel, but it certainly offers value for money without having to compromise on cleanliness or comfort.
There was a lot of noise from the street at night; drunken rowdy shouting from early evening until 4.00am. If I'd closed my window sooner it might not have awakened me as often.

It is the second time we come to this hotel, we like that it is located in the city center, a stone's throw from the port and 5 minutes from Unions Square. The room was cleaned every day, nothing to complain about . Very kind staff, Many thanks 😊
The only thing I didn't like the first time and the second time is the kettle. I stayed in room 215 the last time, I had an old kettle, which also smells very bad (but it was my bad luck because my brother stayed in room 226 where he had a new kettle and in addition the window had a double, I can he says it was much warmer than in my room) I hope that the next visit I will be lucky to get a new kettle.

Centrally located, close to the main train station. The room was of good size and had a quayside view. The bed was comfortable with bedding that was warm but not heavy. I find many hotels use bedding that is too weighty (thick duvets), even in winter months. Bathroom facilities were also very good. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
My only gripe and it is a minor one is that - the only chair to sit on in the room was a folding wooden/metal frame chair that didn't feel very strong. Something a little more comfortable to sit on would have made my stay absolutely perfect. As I say - a minor gripe.
