Owner-operator hotel with restaurant and pub on-site. Staff are most helpful, friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and thoughtfully furnished and bed was comfortable with a selection of pillows. Bathroom had strong shower + bathrub, TV and wifi were good. Everything worked properly, well maintained and very clean throughout the hotel. Parking is sufficient and free. Restaurant food was very good with a wide selection of drinks. Blackburn is a small town just outside Aberdeen, but is sufficiently isolated as to provide a very serene atmosphere perfect for a nice holiday yet remain a central point for visiting the eastern Scottish areas

Leys was lovely. Great location for what we wanted. Food was excellent and the choices were plenty. We ate dinner both nights and the food was great, breakfast was just as good. Every choice was there from full Scottish to toast and jam. The bedroom was roomy, clean and fresh. Staff were lovely also. Friendly and welcoming.

There was really nothing to dislike about this hotel and we would use it and recommend it. If i had to nitpick I would ask for a mirror in the bedroom as the only mirror was in the bathroom and to use guesswork with the hair tongs as no plugs near enough. Also a toilet roll holder as not easy to find the rolls when they are behind you. But both small details.

The room had been renovated so was lovely and clean. Two comfortable seats in the bedroom. A decent view out the window. Internet/wifi connection good. Tea and coffee making facilities. Good size shower. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, I could have lain on for ages in the morning. Cooked breakfast was delicious and made to order. Staff were lovely too. Bus stop was just outside the hotel and only 30mins into Aberdeen centre.

All good. Would definitely stay again.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the WiFi was excellent, comfortable bathtub in the room (a rarity!). The room overall was really comfortable and clean, even had a workstation for when we had to attend a few online meetings. The restaurant was amazing, including the free breakfast. Very conveniently located for public transport throughout the region, but if you're driving (as we were) there is ample parking. Even the tourist info leaflets in the hotel were very helpful.

I'd booked 4 nights as was on a training course. Morning after first stay had a lovely breakfast as was included in price, served from 7am which was perfect as I had to leave a 8.45am each morning. Disappointed breakfast Saturday and Sunday wasn't served until 9am which ment I missed out. Was offered continental but cornflakes and yogurt didn't appeal. Thankfully the local co did warm food

Excellent food. Very nice evening meal at Betty's, and also a good hearty, well cooked breakfast in the morning. Rooms are good, spacious and clean, and have all amenities required. The rooms and corridors were spotlessly clean. Top marks for super cleaning. Decent free car parking at the rear. Good value for money. Ideal for a business trip.

Room décor was a little dated and tired, but not unpleasant - perfectly functional. The curtain was not properly secured to the rail, so I had to improvise to get it to close properly. The emergency lighting in the room has a green LED on it which is mega bright! It lit up half the room at night, so again I had to improvise a way to dim it. The pillows were very hard - even the softer ones, but I guess that's just a personal preference.

It was a lovely hotel and our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable. The hotel itself it right next to a local shop if you need any little bits and pieces and the room has a small fridge which is really handy for keeping things cool. The staff were amazing and really polite. We will definitely be back.

Room was a bit dated and could do with being updated. Only one mirror which was in the bathroom, could do with one in room ideally full length for doing hair & makeup. Curtain was off tail and looked like it had been for some time.

Staff were lovely , had a beer garden which was lovely as it was a great sunny day , the restaurant was lovely dinner was great good platefuls , great food and friendly staff at reception and in the bar , it had two pool tables and tvs , breakfast was fantastic check out at 11am

Wouldnt say i didnt like , a pity we couldnt get on one of the pool tables as there was a lot of young folk in very busy

Straightforward hotel all that's needed, spacious room, clean, good bar, restaurant and quality of food although the steak prices seem a little high.easy car parking in private hotel car park.

Stairs with narrow treads, shower over bath was good but the bath is deep to step in and out of with no grab rail, but a minor issue overall.
