Friendly and helpful staff. Reception answered all my questions with a smile, even when I was being indecisive. Haggis at breakfast which is always a bonus. Lovely big shower cubicle. Very convenient city centre location - it is only a couple of minutes walk from Aberdeen train station and from Union Street. The room windows actually open PROPERLY (meaning wide, not just a pointless crack) which was great on the hot day. There's two hotel entrances a few yards from each other - one with a few steps, one with a ramp for prams/accessibility. Seagulls were raising their cute fluffy chicks on the roof of the building opposite, which I get that other people may not view as a bonus, but it was my own personal wildlife documentary!

Minor gripe: The gap between the back of the hotel and the next street contains the smoking area for a pub. So if you have the window open in the evening you hear folk chattering loudly and get the occasional waft of ciggie smoke. Which is not the hotel's fault, obviously... The hotel lift is small and can really only take 2 adults with luggage. If several people with giant wheelie suitcases turn up at once, a queue develops. So I used the lift for going up and the stairs for going down.

The staff we dealt with were all very polite and really helpful, especially the staff at breakfast. Tea and coffee were brought to your table, hostess was walking over and asking if you wanted a top up. The breakfast choices were plentiful, from a cooked breakfast to a piece of fruit there was so much to choose from. The hotel was very clean and our room was very spacious with subsequent space for your clothes and luggage to be put away.

Although it looked lovely in the room the bed was uncomfortable. It was a wooden framed bed and every time you moved it creaked, the wood down the side was at a level where your legs seemed to hit of of it and sleep was hard to get. So if the bed wasn't annoying enough there was something else keeping me awake, bloody seagulls. We were near the water and I think all of the seagulls in Aberdeen were on our hotel. The nights were really warm but we had to close the window to try and keep out the noise coming from the damn birds, and even then you would think they were just outside your window

Reception Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly . One staff member went out of her way to let my mother see the ballroom after my mother mentioned she had danced there many years ago. The room we had was lovely. Location very central. Staff at Molly’s bistro were also very helpful and friendly. They made my daughter feel special as part of her graduation day.

The layout was a little challenging for my mother. She did have a room with a low access shower, but was a bit of a walk from the lifts and she did need to negotiate a short flight of stairs which required some help with a walker. However, it is appreciated that as an old building there are real challenges in making rooms fully accessible. The cooked breakfast options were very limited if not a meat eater as no tattie scones, mushrooms or hash browns etc.

Good location, close to everywhere in the city centre. Good choice at breakfast and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful

It's not the nicest part of Aberdeen, but hopefully, once the work is completed on the new market and Union Street itself, the situation will improve. Our room was very close to the lift, so we heard a lot of chatter with people walking past. Our bed was rather too firm for our liking. The bathroom door was difficult to close, and the toilet roll holder was hanging off. I hate smart TVs as I find them difficult to operate, so some instructions in the room would have been helpful

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a triple and it was spacious enough for all of us, which was not always the case elsewhere in Scotland. In fact, this was the best hotel at the best price in all the hotels we stayed at during our 2 week trip. It was centrally located—near the main streets, train station, ferry terminal, sights, and all the amazing street murals! There is a bus stop right out front that will take you to the old town, but I'm glad we stayed close to all the action. Molly's Bistro was tasty, affordable, and open late—which was great because we arrived late on the train. There's a totally affordable Michelin Star restaurant—called Moonfish Cafe—that's less than a 10-min walk away. We had our laundry done by the hotel. They send it out and you get it back folded and clean within 1 day (or the next day, depending when you drop it off) for only £15-20. Since it was laundry for the 3 of us, it was a bargain! Would definitely return!

The only thing I could knit-pick about the place is that I paid £20 for laundry, but when I got my laundry back, the receipt said £15. If I hadn't seen the receipt, I would never had known/noticed/cared.

We had stayed there once before and the room was nicely decorated - location excellent if you want to be in the town centre - breakfast was good and served in the Bistro this time as the dining room was being decorated - we liked the Bistro better as it was intimate and cosy - the dining room was a bit cavernous the last time. Food was good and waitress lovely

Although it was warm outside the rom was cold - we phoned down and were told that there was no heating for individual rooms - they sent up a heater but the towel rail also wasn't on and the bathroom was cold - during the night my husband had to get up to put on the heater and we would have preferred to make our own adjustments to the radiators. The bed was also very low and we both had difficulty getting up out of it!

The location is great, just a few minutes walking from the bus station (practically the only way to go to and from the airport). It was also a few minutes walking to the main shopping areas and the main attractions (like the Maritime Museum). Room was surprisingly large. Breakfast was ok, plus points for the local produce like haggis. I would say that the hotel is excellent value for money, depending on, of course, how much you pay for the room. Staff shines! Everything was clean.

It was a three star hotel and you do get what you pay for. The floors are a bit noisy even with the floor to floor carpet. You do hear if your neighbour moves in the room next door as you hear also the people above you. But this is Britain after all so it is local charm! Bathroom was a bit old-fashioned and here, once again, they had a sign of "if you do not want to have your towels changed every day, do this". The towels were changed even if I did exactly that. Generally speaking, I wonder how many people actually use a bathtub in any hotel? It just makes standing in the shower that much more uneven and risky. Breakfast could have been a bit more variable. None of these made me regret the choice of hotel, though, as they are just minor things.

I loved the hotel nice and near the bus station . Breakfast was lovely, and the service Really good, the girls looked after us for everything we needed. Hotel lovely and clean staff were really approachable and couldn't do enough for us. We would highly recommend the hotel to all our family and friends keep up the good work

Next time, I would ask for a room in front of the hotel. we were in room 418, and the music from another venue was really loud, head thumping but will definitely be back to the hotel

it’s like many Aberdeen Hotels, rambling corridors on many floors. building is well maintained. Clean and no dust on top of door, picture and mirror frames (I am a professional cleaner) and the staff are very helpful.

my room was very cold and I did mention it to one of the staff…there was also a large patch of mould in the corner of the shower floor….. Decor in the rooms is a bit manky. you could have some pictures up on the walls and erm….my walls were a bit thin! I could hear EVERYTHING going on in the next room 😍🙈😵‍💫 The breakfast, though slightly pricy was good and the staff’s attention was excellent. there is obviously a very no nonsense House Manager in charge!

The hotel is in a fantastic location for visiting Aberdeen, close to all amenities, bus stations, rail station and within walking distance to all shopping areas. It very well looked after, the hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff are all well trained in there positions, they are very informative regarding the area for shopping, dinning out and attractions. It also has plenty onsite, restaurants, bars and quiet areas so basically however you want to spend your stay, it has it all on your doorstep. There is some parking at the rear of the property and it is very reasonably priced for a city centre hotel.

There is nothing I did not like about this property.
