Our room was well equipped and had a nice view of the golf course. The beds were super comfy. There was an optional buffet breakfast for $35/person and it had a great selection and also gluten free options. There are 2 eateries: one bar and grill - type, and a more upscale dining room. We've tried both and were happy with the quality, selection and service. Most wine tasting tours will pick up from here which is great. There are 2 pools, a jacuzzi and a kids slide wet play area. There is a small airport nearby but we didn't hear any noise from the aircraft. There are wineries too numerous to mention within a few minutes' drive, plus other attractions and cafes, restaurants and the Hunter Valley Gardens entertainment precinct. Newcastle city is a 45 minute drive away.

There was no doormat or somewhere to put muddy shoes.

The kids absolutely loved the swimming pool the fun water area and the spa! The games room was a massive hit too! 1000x loved all you could eat breakfast such an amazing range of food and drink options! I wish I had paid to do it daily while I was up there. It was fun watching all the golfers play golf just from the back door. The volleyball was a massive hit too and the fun last night of enjoying the yummy desserts and Mexican food! The house we called home for a week was super spacious and modern. Fantastic all around. Thank you!

That we couldn't stay longer! Definitely need a week or more at this amazing resort! We didn't like that we had to leave 😂

We loved our stay at the property! It was perfect for a relaxing girls weekend in the Hunter Valley. The on-site restaurant was a great convenience, and the food was delicious. We also really enjoyed the bar—it was the perfect spot for a drink in the evening. The overall vibe was welcoming and made our weekend extra special.

We weren’t huge fans of the buffet-style breakfast—it would’ve been nice to have the option to grab something small or light instead. Also, we were a bit disappointed that the pool closed so early, especially after long days out exploring. A later closing time would’ve made it perfect!

The resort truly excels in keeping children engaged and happy. The variety of activities available was impressive, and everything was well-organized and supervised. My daughter absolutely loved the complimentary pony riding - what a wonderful touch! It's rare to find such quality activities included at no extra charge, and the staff running these programs were fantastic with the kids. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained and provide a peaceful, scenic setting that captures the essence of the Hunter Valley perfectly. The combination of natural beauty and well-designed facilities created a truly relaxing atmosphere for both adults and children. The inclusion of activities like pony riding in the stay really adds tremendous value to the overall experience. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, making the entire family feel well taken care of. Overall, Rydges Resort Hunter Valley delivered on every front - excellent facilities, engaging kids' programs, comfortable accommodations, and a beautiful setting that made our family getaway truly memorable.

The resort restaurant can get quite busy during standard meal times, particularly with families, so planning around peak hours might be helpful.

The resorts facilities, pools, tennis courts, sauna, spas and restaurant facilities.

I don't think to much about this to be honest here as mostly everything was in my opinion a great experience. If I'd like to bring more people than just ourselves yes I would as the resort offers you alot in return for the package provided. It would have been nice as first time guests to have had something complimentary like a breakfast or something memories don't erase from a relaxing weekend away. Staff were excellent and made you feel welcome within. The room I stayed in seemed like it needed some repairs. Very cosy and clean with great atmosphere.

Very family friendly resort with lots of entertainment especially for the younger kids, Mine are aged 2,4 and 5. Train rides, merry-go-round, jumping castle, splash park and adventure trail. Kids also loved seeing the Kangaroos and hot air balloons in the mornings. on check-out reception allowed us to continue using resort facilities and was able to shower kids before driving home.

- 3 bedroom villa didn't have much utensils for cooking and there wasn't dish washing detergent either. would of also loved a mini vacuum in the villa as with kids over a extended stay it does get a little messy. We stayed 4 nights. - Fridge was a little small - Also a lot of the activities and kids club is around the time kids nap e.g. between 11.30am and 2pm

The family entertainment options were fantastic! My kids didn't get out of the heated pool for hours on end, only to have some snacks available poolside. The Water Dragons Kids Club offered a nice supervised time for the kids while us parents got 3 hours of well deserved time off. Then the arcade games at night.. we barely wanted to leave the hotel to explore around! The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pricey but excellent, the dinner options great too.

The rooms look like a concrete bunker from the outside and feel like a dated country motel inside. The 2 room family suite was really two separate rooms with heavy doors (impossible for kids to push open) and a corridor between them. The rooms really don't seem to justify the price- for adults only there probably better value options around. But as a family with small kids the aesthetic mattered less and we had a wonderful time with the great facilities the hotel offered.

Great resort, comfortable and good value

Restaurant/ bar and grill I find all the stuff in the food area was not friendly. Bar and grill left just walked out on me with 4 drinks like didn't even offer tray and I was the only customer there, would understand if he was busy but he wasn't. The lack of care puts me off. The buffet was overcapacity and couldn't really enjoy it. Food dissapear very quickly and can't hardly move. Staff were busy, and they forgot customer service and hygiene. There's one lady in the buffet. She's that busy she didn't even realise nor care that her hair was on my bacon and egg plate. Some staff are not the most friendly and look like they don't want to be there. I'm a bit disappointed but the rest was good.

Having stayed here before under Crowne Plaza we knew to expect a good standard. We were happy to see that breakfast was still really good and the in service dining options were too. Very family friendly with the water park and main pool being big and shallow for the kids. We love the ease of the resort in that it is close to all the local events (The huntervalley Gardens Christmas lights were beautiful). Could easily come and just stay at the resort with so much to do for the kids and with restaurants on site.

Had problems with the TV on arrival so we were upgraded and given $50 credit for the inconvenience. Second room it happened again but the technician was able to fix the problem. TV still had issues on and off which was annoying for us with kids. Apparently other rooms had issues too. Room only had a kettle, no coffee machine. Just little details that we felt could be looked at to make the resort a bit more updated. The water park is great but felt it needs refurbishment and something on the floor so kids don't slip. My daughter fell numerous times and on the last fall cut her lip. It's quite dangerous even though we supervised and went on there with them. It's such a great activity for them but just if the hotel can review the safety of it.

The family friendly facilities were 10/10!

Overall great experience. There was 1x staff working at the coffee kiosk in the lobby who was rude and unhelpful with regards to my dairy intolerance. He was very reluctant to check ingredients with chef and when my husband picked up my sandwich, he served him 2x rolls with dairy. He also then refused to correct it. I was eventually served a roll that still had butter on it and I was unable to eat. This seemed like a very simple request that I rarely have issues with. Staff in red salt were 10/10 at managing dietary requirements.
