We arrived and got greeted by a lovely staff member checking us in in less than 5 min. The room was great in size and we had twin bedding set up as requested which was wonderful. We stayed at the Lodge Room and it was great . We stayed for the weekend for Summersalt at the Roche Estate and it was the perfect location being 5min down the road. Accommodation felt very fresh and recently renovated and we really loved it. It was quiet and with a lovely restaurant on site with amazing food, cocktails and wonderful service. We also got some wonderful recommendations from the lovely lady at the reception. Absolutely highly recommend this property for a weekend or week away. It's so beautiful and feels so more personal being a small er property and everythign is so close to drive or via Uber. Amazing!

The room was clean and well renovated, it stayed warm throughout the stay without needing the air con. It was modern and well styled, the items such as glasses, milk, free water were a good touch. The fencing around the room patio area so our child couldn't get to the pond was a relief. The room was nice and quiet even though we were the closest room to the reception and restaurant.

The bathroom was a bit dated. Both the bathroom door and the shower door need a WD40 treatment. It would be great to have the light switches inside the bathroom, as parents we try not to wake the little one and switching on the lights then opening the door can be disruptive. On Saturday night someone was smoking during shower time, and given there is a passive vent in the window, we couldn't close it.

We had a wonderful stay at Hermitage Lodge, and what stood out the most was the tranquility and calm it offers. The atmosphere is serene, very relaxing, and perfectly situated in a great area — ideal for unwinding and enjoying the surroundings. The rooms were impressively clean, well-maintained, and equipped with up-to-date utensils and amenities, making the stay very comfortable. On arrival, we were greeted with a warm and friendly reception, which set a welcoming tone right from the start.

If there is one area for improvement, it would be guest parking. In the evenings, with many visitors dining at Pescara, the parking fills up quickly, leaving guests struggling to find space. It would be good if the lodge could allocate dedicated guest parking to ensure convenience for those staying overnight.

The place was quiet and scenic. The bed was very comfortable, and the restaurant onsite was handy (with good food and service). The location of the accommodation was central to Hunter Valley wineries, and its price (and allowing us to stay a single night) very reasonable.

There was a fault with the connection between the drain from the bathroom handbasin and the wall, meaning every time the tap was turned on water flowed onto the bathroom floor (there was a floor waste). We were able to tighten the connection which stopped most of the leak. It was not a big problem for the stay.

The location was great and our room was lovely and spacious and looked out over the vines which was lovely. It had almost a safari lodge feel!

The reception closed at 4pm which felt a little odd. The only place to get food or something to drink on the site was an expensive (albeit great) restaurant that only opens in the evening, was booking only with a minimum of 2 courses rule. There was a mini bar in the room and 2 free bottles of water, however someone had unfortunately turned it up to maximum so everything (including the cheese, oil and chutney we bought that day) were frozen solid. When the main reason you are in the area is to try alcohol, and maybe sample a little cheese, then not having access to anything else (and not being able to drive anywhere) once you get back is a little inconvenient, but now we know if we were to return, we would take some supplies with us!

Room and the view was lovely, staff at the desk very nice. Enjoyed the layout of the suite, felt very spacious. Coffee and tea facilities always nice, and lots of parking out front. Very close to nearby gardens, wineries and shops !

The walls must have been thin as I could hear next door guests late at night quite loudly, additionally the decks between the rooms only being separated by a small screen reduced privacy. Felt as though we couldn't go outside as guests next door were standing in the middle of the screen :/ minor issues.

The facilities were excellent. The bedroom/sitting room and the bathroom were very clean and spacious. The king size bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast of well-blended museli, tropical juice, yoghurt with passionfruit topping and English muffins with jam/peanut butter/Vegemite and a selection of teas and coffee was first class! The only improvement I could offer would be some butter for the muffin! The location of the restaurant, Pescara, on the same property and a mere twenty metres from our room, was a bonus.

Location was central to everything with an extra bonus of being a little tucked away. Scenery was stunning overlooking the vineyard and the rooms were cosy and beautiful furnished. We were lucky enough to dine at Pescara Italian restaurant on our last night and the food was to die for! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and will definitely be back.

The room was warm which was good however it got quite hot upstairs and was noticeably cooler downstairs due to the position of the air conditioning. Definitely not a big deal, although an electric fireplace would be divine ✨️

The stay at Hermitage lodge was great, staff were friendly and accomodating. The location of the lodge is close to nearby wineries and restaurants and shops. The room (a Premier Suite) had a spa bath on the balcony which was great, as well as a full kitchen with cooking facilities and cutterly/plates/pots/pans and a gas fire. It has recently been renovated with new furniture. Two airconditioners and one gas fire ensured I was warm during the coldest nights. Additional blankets were also provided. The optional breakfast is good value for money and convenient. The provided coffee pods did the job of caffeinating me.

The downstairs bathroom fan in the Premiute Suite named bimbadgen suite was very noisy, as was the downstairs airconditioner. This did not impact my sleep as the bedroom was upstairs, which has a separate airconditioner.

We had the Bimbadgen Suite which was large but be aware the bedroom is upstairs which are a bit steep. Lovely balcony off the bedroom as well as downstairs off the lounge room. Great view over the vineyard and more private than the rooms overlooking the small ‘lake’ Pescara restaurant onsite was a real bonus and fantastic.

Bedroom television needs updating to a smart tv. Downstairs tv screen really dark and probably needs replacing.
