We had a wonderful stay! The view from our room overlooking the lake was absolutely stunning —it really made the trip special. The only downside was that housekeeping came quite early, around 9am, while we were still getting ready and enjoying the in-room breakfast (although wish we had more than one avocado for a three night stay). We asked if they could return later, but unfortunately, they didn’t come back, so we had to call in the afternoon to have the room serviced. Also, the pillows could use an upgrade—the pillow protectors were a bit worn and not very comfortable. That said, it was still a lovely experience overall, and we’d definitely come back!

I absolutely LOVED my stay - it was just what I was looking for! Superb place and luxurious 'cabins'. Lovely views. I drove myself and it was an easy location to access lots of great places the Hunter has to offer.

A little feedback on the beds is I found them too soft (sounds weird), I just sunk into it and it hurt my back. I improvised with a pillow underneath me to help sleep, and that worked. I stayed 4 nights, and really enjoyed the selection of breakfast that was left for me to eat for the duration of my visit. Though by the 3rd day, a fresh bit of bread would have been wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay here! The private setting was a highlight, even though we were all right next to one another. The soundproofing between cabins was impressive, ensuring a peaceful stay. The common area, including the pool, was fantastic. We also appreciated the convenient guest ice station. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional cleanliness and maintenance of the retreat cabins and surrounding areas. Everything was immaculately kept, making our stay even more enjoyable. All their photos look exactly like it did in the photos! Their add ons were great and worth adding to your stay… their recommendations were all worth going to! Very accommodating and I will definately recommend the lane retreat to all my friends and family.

This is our second visit to The Lane Retreat, and we absolutely love it! It’s a charming, peaceful retreat with excellent access to local vineyards and cellar doors. We appreciate the location, the studios themselves, and the complimentary shuttle service to nearby cellar doors. The breakfast was simple yet elegant, and they accommodated my mum’s dairy intolerance wonderfully. I reached out ahead of time for some wine tasting tips, and they were incredibly helpful, recommending and arranging everything for me. I just had to be at the collection point! We highly recommend The Lane Retreat to anyone seeking a quiet, idyllic escape in the Hunter Valley region.

Nope! We would’ve loved to stay longer, but that’s on us!

Room was beautifully decorated , nice and modern and very clean . Good sizing and was very quiet the duration of our stay Our stay had breakfast included - this was loaf of sourdough , fancy butter , big tub of yogurt , granola , fruit , avocado , 1litre juice . Plus tea and coffee facilities , well stocked mini bar , which all was excellent Huge double shower , very comfortable bed and the best pillows I’ve ever slept upon . Free wifi ,nice sized porch area and our room had a beautiful view , lovely modern pool area with heaps of sun loungers and beanbag style seating , use of beach bag and towels , ice machine , toilets next to pool area , they also had a shop called the pantry where they had food/drinks , Nick-nacks, candles and other stuff to buy - I bought some lovely mugs! The lane retreat is super close to everything . Longest drive we did to a destination was only 11 minutes . Woul definitely be staying again

Not a dislike - but maybe an improve upon suggestion —————If we had known about in house massages, it would’ve saved us travelling to Cessnock , and being traumatised by very rough massages lol but in saying that it’s not really a “didn’t like “ and we also didn’t think to ask so maybe that’s on us .

The breakfast was yogurt, granola, banana bread and a piece of fruit with juice. It was exactly what we needed for before leaving. If you want a bigger breakfast, go to a cafe but this was perfect for us. The bed was one of the comfiest beds I have slept in and the bathroom is an absolute jaw drop, double shower head, double sink. AMAZING! The mirror options are great, you can tell it is on a wedding venue as this is a super important addition. We cannot wait to get married at Bimbadgen and are confident our guests who chose to stay there will love their stay.

If i have to think of something it would be another Pepe Saya butter as only one was provided for two people in the room. This is not a big deal but one thing we laughed about :)

Great spot if you looking for peace, nature and privacy. Good value and great price considering the location. Room is very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is DIY continental and substantial enough for most. What really makes the place is the landscape/nature and we would come back again just for that.

Only tricky part was no restaurants within walking distance. As long as you have a car and are prepared for that it's not an issue and good restaurants 5 minutes drive away.

I loved the surroundings, the room and shower, as well as the bar. It was a perfect spot to stop before heading back to Sydney. Surrounded by wildlife, kangaroos, a nice deck to observe it all and it's own mini fridge with breakfast included (banana bread, yoghurt and fruit.)

The stay was great, the only thing was the contactless check-in over the phone was slightly confusing, otherwise once we got the pincode and the number to our place, the rest of the stay was great.

What a wonderful experience! We will be recommending this property to our family & friends. The cabin was just lovely with a balcony overlooking the vines. So romantic and peaceful. Cabin was nicely decorated and was very new and clean. The breakfast of granola, yogurt juice and banana bread was just delicious. Service from staff was excellent. Water bottles, robes, slippers and towels for the pool in the room. Also beautiful coffee table books to read in the room. Everything has been very well thought out. Loved all the little touches.

Windows appeared to have a mirror sheen on them from outside which was great for privacy however would have liked a blackout blind in the bathroom as when lights on in the evening wasn’t too sure to what extent other guests could see in.

I wanted a weekend escape in Hunter valley after a busy week in Sydney for a business conference. I was in doubt between the Lane Retreat and 1 other accommodation and I asked ChatGPT for help! So thanks to AI I made the perfect choice! This place was so peaceful and my room was so spacious. Also super new! I had the view to the small lake and the modern design reminded me of a movie! I wish I could have stayed one more night and wish I had taken photos of the kangaroo, they were so fun to see. I also saw the hot air balloons at dawn when checking out, which I didn't know they left from there. I didn't have an Australian number so all communication had to be via email since they don't have a formal reception etc. They do have a pantry you can purchase some items there and also fridge items for purchase. You get a continental breakfast which is already in the room. It had fresh cold pressed juice, granola, yogurt, some honey, banana bread. The bathroom was so nice! Super new! I wish there was a bath tub, maybe some other rooms have it. I loved the balcony area and sipping some wine while listening to nature. I actually went here without a car, crazy I know, but they shuttled me to the room and had shuttle to visit the Pizza Wood fire restaurant place at Bimbadgen. Overall, a lovely experience..

The bird woke me up as it was hitting on the glass, like for a while. so as stated by the hotel, don't leave door open as wild life may enter lol.
