Seamless check in and check out (with help of the ground floor store’s staff, who was always friendly), perfect location (Kata night market is literally around the corner, as well as 7-11 and lots of cafes and restaurants). The room was spacious enough, well equipped and clean. Daily cleaning and free water also provided. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations considering the price paid. Consider just two things before booking: 1. there’s no elevator that could be an issue for some guests; 2. Rooms ending with *01 have windows at the street side, which is quite noisy all the time (thanks to the central location of the hotel). So if you’re a light sleeper like me, ask for room 202, 302 or 402, which have worse view but you won’t be disturbed by any noises at all. To summarize, I’d definitely recommend this place for a budget short stay.

Firstly would’ve given a 5 star review anyway - rooms are clean, comfy beds, good location and fair pricing competitively to the area. Aircon works well, good showers, nice toilets and well equipped rooms. Check in was a breeze and we were allowed an extra hour for checkout too as we thought it was 12:00. But! Here is the best (worst for me) part. I very stupidly left 6000bht hidden in the room, and only realised on the ferry to Koh Lanta. I spoke to the owner and she recovered the money with the help of the hotel staff. She then liaised with the hotel staff in Koh Lanta and wire transferred the money to them, and I got it back. I requested she keep some and didn’t. Honestly blown away by this kindness and honesty all round from staff and owner alike. Can’t recommend enough. Infinite thanks and gratitude!

If I had to offer some constructive feedback I’d say an iron would be great in the room or to borrow from reception

We had a lovely stay at Hunwa Guesthouse Kata! It was truly great value for money – the room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The location is perfect, right in the center of Kata and just a short 5–7 minute walk to the beach. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, being offered towels, beach towels, bathrobes, slippers, and two bottles of water every day. The only minor thing we would mention is the mattress – it was a bit firm for our taste. Of course, this could just be a personal preference, and others might find it perfectly comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and we highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in Kata on a budget.

The loacation is definetly the best, the facilities were all working, its clean and very comfortable. I will go back here if I will be staying in Kata Phuket Thailand

The internet in the room was not working when I asked the receptionist she cant fix it and she dont know why it was not working. One more thing they gave us a room at first which has a balcony with a view, and right there they told us that it was not our room. Then they gave us a room just across w/o a view.

The guesthouse is perfect for any kind of stay. It was close to the night market. Short walk to the beach as well. Check in was very smooth, finding the place wasn’t hard either. I recommend just booking this place. The owner also helped me retrieve an item I left there, he was very helpful in this process. Many thanks to him and the place. Overall 10/10 !!

The location is great and the room was nice too. It's a good value for price and although it is located so central we didn't have problems with noise.

The cleaning was supposed to be done every 2 days but there was no punctuality at all. We stayed for 20 days and sometimes they were cleaning every 2 days sometimes every 3 days and one time they didn't clean for 4 days so we had to complain.

It was an amazing place and I recommend it, near to the beach and a quiet place

I liked everything about the place, location, room, staff etc. Everything is near the place stores, 7-11, pharmacies, exchanges.

A room on the side of the street was noisy, so if you are light sleeper, you probably feel uncomfortable. It has no elevator.

Lovely couple, very accommodating. Excellent rooms, high level of cleanliness, and very good location close to beach between Karon and Kata beaches.

No reception to speak with issues for questions/concerns/keys.
