We stayed in the apartment and it was lovely and well-appointed. The little patio area in front was so nice since we were blessed with a beautiful day. Sitting outside with a coffee and watching and listening to the birds in the meadow right outside was delightful. We had been in Bakkagerdi earlier in the evening to view the puffins (1 million stars/10 on that experience) and this was the perfect place to spend the night, since it was less than an hour from there but also gave us a little bit of a head start on our clockwise ring road journey for the next day's travels.

12 miles and 20 minutes by car north of Egilsstadir. It is one of five cabins, modern but not brand new; soundproofing is minimal and that was annoying as other guests were inconsiderate and kept slamming doors. As I write this there is a baby crying in a nearby cabin. The cabins have a beautiful outlook to the back so I cleaned the windows on the outside. The window in the front door is frosted so no view at all. The kitchen is minimalist, only the basics are provided. Whilst the floor covering is made of plastic, it’s actually a fairly realistic version of oak so looks good. The owner was helpful when I phoned with a query; the cleaner was also considerate and was very helpful when I spoke with her. There isn’t a TV in the room – you have to create your own entertainment. Fair value for money 8/10

The location is very good all very green and beautiful. Communication with the owners was good. The check in was very simple, the key was waiting for us at the door without having to interact with anyone. The room is very clean and very well, what I liked the least is the shower curtain that sticks to your body all the time. It would have been a detail that since they provide you with a coffee maker and infusions they had some sugar sachets. Otherwise everything was clean and perfect. The kitchen is very practical and you can cook with a small ceramic hob. A microwave would have been a nice touch.

Just the sugar detail, the shower curtain and that a microwave would have been great. But silly details that would make it even more perfect than it is.

The room in this guesthouse had a very nice decoration, was very clean and felt like being rather new - everything in very good shape. Check in and out where easy based on the instructions provided by email upfront. The value for money was great. Since there is no staff present on-site I cannot comment on that. We also didn’t use the kitchen - it looked very well equipped and inviting, though.

The building is beautifully located on a grassy hill - literally in the middle of nowhere, though. There is absolutely no infrastructure (restaurants, shops, gas stations, …) nearby. For all that you have to drive 20 minutes back to Egilsstaðir.

Located 18km north of Egilsstadir. Excellent place for one to two nights. Now located off a fully gravelled road that goes to Borgarfjordur (Puffins galore close up) and scenic backroad access to highway 85. Road 917 is gravel but it’s mountain pass section is spectacular. The Owner, August, communicates very well and is a delight to talk to. Upon our arrival August was returning the outside tables and chairs after safe keeping during the recent gale winds. Got to meet his young son Franar and his personality is definitely a positive likeness to his dad’s . The room is very modern and new looking and the beds were very comfortable.

The one ring electric cook top is very limiting. Floor space a bit tight with one suitcase and a food box. Kitchenette work top space is very limited. Shower is minimum size (900 x900), which is ok until the shower curtain is pulls-in due to the air up-draught. Having said these negatives, it’s on my list for a place stay.

Basic facilities, but very clean and had room for us and our 2 adult children (1 large bed, 1 single and pull out couch). Extremely reasonable rates for 4 people. Met our requirements to have accommodations close enough to the Ring Road but also convenient for our evening trip to Borgarfjordur Eystri under the midnight sun to see the puffins. Very easy check in and check out process.

I recently stayed at this place and had a fantastic experience. Everything was just as described in the offer. The room was exactly what I expected—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to others looking for a great place to stay

Amazing remote location, not far from the town Eglisstadir, the hosts were really helpful, it was clean and comfortable. We saw the Northern Lights that night at the guesthouse and it was really beautiful experience. I recommend this guesthouse for everyone who is traveling on the east side of Iceland.

Nothing to add, everything was on point!

Comfortable room, has what you need to sleep well and eat (kitchenette). Quiet location, 50 minutes from Borgarfjörður Eystri, where you can see the Puffins. 15 minutes from Egilsstaðir, a transit point for those doing the Ring Road and with a wider range of services.

Nice location, quiet, clean, well made building, grateful for coffee and refrigerator, spacious room.

The extra bed for the third adult was not the least bit comfortable. It was a very thin mattress. (The 2 main beds were very comfortable, though.) We also don't recall any notice that there was a great deal of construction on the road from town. The surface was extremely rough and it would have been better to be prepared for that late at night and with our rental car company saying they wouldn't cover any damages made on gravel roads.
