A lovely, friendly welcome that continued throughout our stay. Wonderful view from the windows of the pub / resteraunt and the large garden. A good menu for meat eaters. A good location on the coast to explore by foot or drive a 15 / 20 minutes up the road to somewhere else to explore. This place loves dogs, so only a small area where they can't go in the restaurant. If you don't want your room cleaning, you can swap your daily cleaning card for 1 drink per person staying the room. If you do choose this you can still get clean towels and teabags etc from reception. The resteraunt was very busy at peak times but tables are bookable or become free quite frequently. A good selection of breakfast food available. Anything additional can be ordered at the bar for example there are only fried eggs on the buffet but they can do scrambled as request.
Small carpark, first come, first served. But plenty of large, but chargeable spaces straight across the road payable on an app or machine. There are not a lot of veggie or vegan options. No fridge in the room ( we were in 37 in the Annex, but this was the only downside).

Lovely location, very warm and comfortable room after my initial room change. Breakfast excellent and well cooked.
Booked an en-suite bathroom as I like a bath and paid extra for a sea view. On arrival to room discover room was a en-suite with a shower and not a bath. Also Sea view was very poor, the view was more of the beer garden than the sea. Went back down and spoke to manager and after a lengthy discussion where the manager repeatedly said it is an en-suite bathroom, it just has a shower. The manager finally changed my room to a bathroom with a bath. I was told the room was a lot less expensive, I paid £135 for my initial room, room I was transferred to cost £85, but manager said he couldn’t refund me the £50 difference in room rate because I had it booked it through booking.com, even though I paid the hotel directly when I arrived.

Location fantastic. Friendly staff who helped use their restricted luggage storage and car parking. For once a proper desk in the room so one could write, not the much more usual little lozenge of a table crammed under a tv with no adequate lighting. The bar and eating very well decorated. Good cask beer. Pet friendly which made for some entertaining barking matches! Cool and relaxed. The standard of the cleaning was A+.
Related to the above, I don’t think the parking limitations were made clear on the Booking.com website entry. I could be wrong. So this is not a criticism of the property at all. But Booking.com need to recognise that travellers arrive often very tired and to KNOW FOR SURE what parking and luggage storage facilities are available AT THE TIME OF BOOKING!!!! Please pass this on to Bookings.coming

- Location - Room was well sited - Meals were good - Very spacious seating and eating areas - Good outdoor areas and particularly liked the suggested 'photo' opportunities - Excellent staff support in helping with parking facilities - External contractors were very helpful and friendly
- Communication not always clear - Inconsistency with end time of breakfast. First morning everything cleared away very promptly which meant my husband wasn't able to have a second coffee (our fault in not understanding timings); second morning everything left out and available at 10 a.m. leaving plenty of opportunities for replenishments

location is very good right next to harbour. We took a boat trip to farne islands and lindisfarne so excellent for that and also a good 3 mile walk along the coast to Bamburgh castle very good breakfast and meal Very good outside area to sit
Parking was a bit of an issue. Could not find a space in the advised public carpark. Though there is plenty of other public parking they all prohibit overnight parking. Managed to eventually find a space in the Hotel carpark which is accessed directly off the roundabout

Property has been refurbished to a good standard and is fresh and airy
The staff couldn’t have been ruder. Approaching the bar to order drinks we were greeted with “yes?” Other comments from the staff on trying to buy drinks “you’ll have to wait” “come back later” This wasn’t a single staff member and seemed to be rife amongst all staff. Also heard other guests expressing the same thoughts. Was a lovely place with lovely staff last year, this year the place is much better, the staff need customer service lessons

The breakfast was great. Plenty of choice & well organised. The chef made a point of saying good morning to all guests as he was keeping the hot buffet stocked up. All staff polite & friendly, clearing plates away efficiently. Nothing too much trouble. We witnessed rude guests arriving at 9.30am and complaining that there was liitle choice. The chef and staff politely arranged for fresh to be cooked and brought out to them even though in my opinion they were late & should have been told so. All credit to the morning staff! The location is excellant. Our room had a balcony & sea view to die for. We opted to forego a daily room clean in exchange for a free drink at the bar, which is a fantastic idea. We could request extra towels/ toilet rolls etc if required, so no problems. We ate in the bar most nights. The food was delicious and good value. The best thing about this hotel is it's staff. Friendly and approachable. Everyone goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome. I cannot wait to return.
Car park bit cramped. Our car got scraped during our stay and the driver drove off.

The location is amazing, we kept our bedroom window open to hear the waves crashing on the harbour wall literally just outside. The room was very clean and well equipped, the staff were lovely and the breakfast was great. There is a lot of space in the restaurant and it was tastefully decorated for Christmas.
The budget room was up in the eaves of the hotel and as a result there was limited headroom in parts, I'm 6'3" but my 5'2" wife also had to watch her head in places. There was a bath with a shower attachment but no shower curtain. Access to the room was tight and someone with mobility issues may struggle. The hotel is "dog friendly" but in reality the area for those who want to be away from dogs (I'm allergic) is limited.

The location cosy room
Booking dot com offered an upgraded room. I accepted however,at the venue our room was at the back off the venue, no sea view as originally booked. The room was spacious for a person of limited mobility. The hotel said this was the up graded room. Its happened before. Luckily they changed the room as we had come to this location to celebrate our 40th wedding Anniversary.

The room was perfect for a short trip with a toddler room 19). There was a bathtub and once we folded the couch away there was plenty of space for a travel cot and still able to run around. An unexpected bonus was the window seats with an excellent view of the harbour, kept our son entertained for an ages. Tip: request to stay in the original building, not the annex for better views.
The bath/shower never got hot, in fact the first night it was hardly even warm despite running it for ages! But we pretended it was a swimming pool and my son was fine. Parking was tricky, we managed a free spot on location the first day (likely because we arranged early check in) but the next day after coming back from an outing we had to pay. This was not reimbursed as other reviews led me to believe
