Everything was perfect. I liked staying in the hostel. Great location. I took the bus from the train station and the bus dropped me right in front of the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room was clean and cozy with everything I needed. I loved the game area a great place to meet other travelers. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
There was nothing I disliked, except for something that obviously wasn’t the hostel’s fault. One guy arrived at midnight and kept disturbing the room. There were four of us in the room, but he kept opening his locker repeatedly — my bed was right next to it, so I was very disturbed. Then he started arranging his bedsheet and doing other things that made noise. After 4–5 hours, he started disturbing again, and because of all this, my sleep was badly affected. At the very least, we should have enough basic ethics to not disturb others because of our behavior. I think the hostel staff should advise incoming guests to respect other guests and try to keep disturbances in the room to a minimum.

A very clean and comfortable hostel with convenient ensuite bathrooms and a great kitchen and lounge. In fact the lounge is just like a room in an ordinary house. The wifi is excellent. The staff were friendly. Central location very convenient for anyone travelling by bus.
The price is at the top end of hostel charges, but then, Alnwick generally is now eye-wateringly expensive. There are a lot of internal stairs and no lift. Reception is only open for very limited hours and there appear to be no staff on the premises at all overnight, which makes me a little uneasy. The fan in the kitchen can be heard quite loudly in the female dorm room, which I think could be very annoying at busier times.

Friendly welcome, super clean, comfortable and warm. Ideal location with a free carpark 2 mins walk away. Wouldn't normally stay in a hostel with my kids but we got a spacious family room (for 2 adults and 3 kids age 5,10&12) with ensuite. It was very family friendly and pretty quiet with an after 10pm quiet rule. Breakfast available for a small cost but can't comment on quality as we didn't eat there.
Such a great place the only thing I can think of is to issue a reminder to take your own towels in communication on the run up to the stay. If you are used to staying in hotels it is not something you think of. I added a reminder on my phone just in case I forgot.

Comfy bed with clean linen. Bathroom was clean with new looking floor. Shower was reliable. Kitchen & dining room also spotless. Staff were helpful.
Bathroom decor looks tired, so could do with a re-paint and re-plastering at bottom, near room 3 shower The window in Room 3 could only be kept open by wedging something into it. As this is on the ground floor, there is a risk of someone opening it from the outside hence security is an issue here.

Good localisation, walking distance of shop and activities. Good kitchen with everything needed (gaz, microwave, oven)
Reception opening time : 8am -10am and 4pm-7pm. They send several email before but this information is write nowhere ! It's not possible to leave a suitcase inside (no bedroom access needed) before check in ! First time I have this problem ! Need to wait several hours with my suitcase in front of the hostel. 2 irrespectfuls guests travelling together booking a dorm "for experience" when they go to bed at 6;30pm and get up at 5am and do a mess ! Bathroom inside the bedroom so noisy.

Location, secure courtyard for motorbikes; the stone construction of the building and its interesting history; the various games and recreation rooms; the pleasant welcome; a good value continental breakfast; private room for 4; powerful shower with plenty of hot water; Alnwick itself is an attractive town with interesting hiostory, its Harry Potter castle and plenty of amenities.
the toilet flush refill was very slow - not ideal with 4 occupants; the shower cubicle had a bid of black mould around the corner joints - easily fixed with a bleach mould spray

Buildings are in a great central location with interesting history, which is well displayed on info boards around the hostel. Good self catering kitchen and games room. Comfy lounge. Comfy beds. Room and ensuite were warm and clean. Liked that you could adjust room radiator and open windows. Hostel was not busy so lovely and quiet.
Room 9 was small and cramped for 4 people. Slightly annoyed by MANY repetitive reminders before (and after!) our stay re bringing photo ID!

There were 2 of us in a room for 4 so there was plenty space. The room was warm and the beds comfortable. Large bathroom and very good shower. Well equipped kitchen and very large dining room
My only improvement would be to put in a small fold up table ( or perhaps 2) so that guests would have somewhere to put laptop or to write on, other than perching on the bed.

My first stay in a YHA for about 40 years we booked the double room with a double bed the room was small and the bed not the best but more than adequate. Fantastic value for money, wont be our last stay and will definitely consider Youth Hostel properties in the future. Building is full of history fully equipped, friendly helpful staff, perfectly located and parking was not an issue.
Nothing .. for the cost it exceeded our expectations.

I had to travel by car and get up early to get to the airport. The venue has a very interesting history which I enjoyed. The bed was super and I slept very well. I was able to leave the premises quietly at 5.45 but could not finish unmaking the bed as required as I thought I would waken my neighbours. The area is more than interesting! There is so much to see. My sister and I visited the castle and Gardens at Alnwick as well as Lindisfarne, and Bamburgh Castle and church and walked the coastal path staying at Seahouses. We had not intended to use a hire car but use the frequent buses, but couldn't work the airport logistics without one. The wonderful bonus for me was to get to see Ad Gifrin excavation site and the new museum dedicated to the finds at the Saxon palace. Definitely a place to return to--- if I can get there. Trains nor flights give a very satisfactory journey to the Northeast from the south.
Not even the weather! it was excellent, hot with a cool breeze! Why go abroad!???
