The location was brilliant and the apartment was very good also. The space was excellent and the heating was good for the cold days.
It did just miss on some simple things, especially because we had a six day stay. Nothing in the apartment to wipe down surfaces, limited dishwashing detergent and the shower had a leak.

The staff were really friendly and very accommodating. The space was amazing for the price. We are a group of 12 girls from 3 generations of one family staying for a get together/catchup weekend. We had the Drill Hall Cottage and one 2 room apartment and there was ample room for everyone to be together and still to have space if needed. The cost was so affordable for all of us which is really important as we have students, young parents, pensioners etc within our group and everyone was able to participate because it is so affordable. Being two hours from home (for most of us) was also a great advantage - to feel we were able to get away but the travel time was not laborious. Every business and person we encountered in Port Fairy was very friendly and welcoming. In the cottage particularly, the kitchen was a great size and well equipped for a group.
The bedrooms in the Drill Hall Cottage were very cold. This is no fault of the accommodation operators as it is cold in Port Fairy in June. Small blow heaters were provided in two of the four rooms and electric blankets on three of the five beds just did not provide enough warmth in the bedrooms. Reception staff did offer to provide more blankets if required but we made do with what we had, however this was the only real downfall of the cottage. Also - a second bathroom/toilet in the cottage for that many people would have been great - but again the space and set up was exceptional for the cost so not a big deal.

a really nice space, in a great location with pretty much everything you need. loved having our own garage car park area that closed up as well.
the shower was bad, terrible water pressure and leaked all over the floor. really small and low quality towels for such a nice place otherwise. would definitely benefit from alternate coffee options than just instant. we had two interactions with staff and they were both disappointing. especially at arrival when we were left standing in front of someone behind the desk not acknowledging us for more than 3 minutes while they did something on the computer. that wouldn’t have been a problem if they had just let us know they had something to finish and would be “x” amount of time, but no, we just stood there wondering and waiting.

Very close to the main street for shopping and close stroll to walk along the river. The apartment was clean and comfortable but definitely felt small in the living area, not much space to move around at all, so you wouldn't want to spend much time in there as two people were a bit on top of each other. We had a ground floor apartment opening onto the street - it wasn't the best view, but it was handy being able to get straight out onto the street rather than going through the carpark.
Although we only watched tv for a short while after dinner because we had a baby in the bedroom, the tv on the wall wasn't working and we had a very small replacement tv sitting in front of it on the tv stand. Could have been handled a bit better than leaving the broken tv and putting a mini one in front. But you'd hope that you're spending enough time enjoying Port Fairy that it wouldn't be an issue.

The town of Port Fairy is beautiful. Lots of history, wildlife and beaches. The two bedrooms apartment was clean, comfy beds and living room, and practical altogether with a lockup garage too. We very much enjoyed it (2 couples). The beds were perfect and the linen really clean, as well as the living room area and carpets. It is just at the start of the main streets so really well located to walk everywhere and make the most of your stay.
The kitchen lacked a bit in basics (no oil, salt, pepper, etc) and the oven was not clean, we put it on for a few minutes and it started smoking of grease. We had to take the bins out ourselves like for an air bnb which was a bit disappointing.

Quiet, great location, modern facilities nice little apartment perfect for our holiday break.
Service to the room was listed as daily, but non existent at times and we had to ask multiple times to have new towels. The rubbish not removed, apartment was not vacuumed tea coffee not restocked as listed “daily” Staff not very professional. The secure car parking remote for the garage door not working and was told by staff “ too Bad” and the remote for tv flat had to replace ourselves as staff not interested.

Great location and accessibility. Very comfy bed. 😁
Charged $6 more than the quoted price, apparently as a credit card fee however a debit card was used. Confusion/unclear about payment expectations (during stay or prior?). Room servicing was basic: rubbish only removed when requested, no vacuuming during stay, bed not made up one day as a jacket was left on the bed, minimal replacement of toiletries. Limited/basic utensils for cooking/serving. Very limited storage for luggage.

Clean apartment, large kitchen area, comfy beds, large dining area (hosted 10 for Christmas lunch), good natural light in upper level. Apartment has secure garage parking underneath to store bikes, beach gear etc. Very close to coffee shops and restaurants and short walk to river and beaches.
Didn't realise the 3 bedroom apartment was made up of 2 self-contained units (A & B) As 2 adults and a baby were joining our family group for only the last 4 of the total 7 nights, we could have reduced costs by booking only the required nights for them, and given someone else the chance to rent the lower level over Christmas. Also, a broader range of cookware and utensils would have been handy.

The apartment was very spacious. We had 4 people staying and there was plenty of room for everyone. The decor was gorgeous. The bed that my partner and I slept in was 2 single beds pushed together but they had an excellent mattress topper so there was no gap in the middle at all. Veryyy comfyyy! Lots of extra blankets and electric blankets incase you got cold. Kitchen was a lovely size and although we didn’t cook, everything was there if you wanted to. A huge shower. Lots of storage. You have a car space in a locked garage. The location is excellent and you’re within walking distance to everything in Port Fairy.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Undercover parking and security was much appreciated.
Not enough space to put cases away. When staying next time I would book a two bedroom suite to get enough room to put the cases and bags out of the way.
