Service, beautiful room, Lê Labo products everywhere, manicured landscape, great location and beautiful views, charming decor, delicious breakfast, wam cookies every night, good cocktails Friday and Saturday, great jazz band! Surprised us with a bottle of champagne since we were celebrating our anniversary! Upgraded our room to an amazing room! The most beautiful view! Thank you! We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful property! Very clean and so incredibly charming. Would definitely come back! The views of the grounds are spectacular, and the included champagne breakfasts were the most amazing spreads along with the evening wine tastings or sangria. We chose this place because it is a very short walk to the beach and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants, but they do offer a complimentary ride service as it is a bit of a climb up to the downtown area. Carmel is so quiet and friendly and the staff were all so incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Traveling with my best friend, the only option they had available was a king bed room, and the rooms are a bit tight if you like to bring big luggage. But we made it work!

This is a haven, a wonderful retreat away from the centre of Carmel (but easy to walk and runs a shuttle if needed) and close to the beautiful beach. It offers wonderful rooms with everything you need and more -- wine tasting in the afternoon (free!), cookies baked daily, a delicious breakfast bar with an incredible array of healthy offerings and stunning views/gardens. Very friendly and polite staff.

It was all perfect!

The location is great as it's 1 minute walk to the beach.and 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurants around Ocean Avenue. The upper level of the property has partial view of the ocean. Some of the staff (younger staff) were very courteous, hospitable and friendly. Buffet breakfast was delightful and you get to enjoy partial view of the ocean, enhancing the dining experience. The happy hour, complimentary wine adds a nice touch. The property is kept clean with well maintained courtyard, garden and pool. Very relaxing to sit out in the courtyard. We'll come back again.

The thermostat didn't work and kept giving error signs stating, something like "access not allowed ", so we gave up on it, but it got to 61 degrees in the middle of the night, and we ended up calling the front desk. It took about 5 minutes to reach someone who brought us an extra blanket and a space heater within 10 minutes. The staff said she never heard of this error message, but after we reported this problem, the thermostat all of sudden worked. Housekeeping service can do better at cleaning. The bathroom was not cleaned and the wash towels were not replaced.

The breakfast and location were both great! And the staff were very friendly. The happy hour and cookies were also very nice. The free shuttle was great to have as well. And the location was awesome.

The room was very small and offered no view, no balcony, no elevator, (4th floor), and a bathroom so small that we could only open the door halfway before it was stopped by the sink. There was no welcoming bottle of wine/champagne for our 25th anniversary. There was bottle water in our room but it was $9/bottle! For $850/night, you'd think they could include this.

Very generous buffet. The food was continuously replenished with more when things got low. Good coffee! Lovely staff who came by to see if there was anything more that they could offer us. Wonderful view.

I’m not a breakfast food person, I would have liked a lot more fresh veg and fresh fruit. Sautéed spinach? Berries? Compote? Fresh cheese. Peanut butter over by the toaster with the jam?

The location was perfect! The staff was very friendly and helpful! Every staff person seemed very happy to help.The breakfast was amazing and the service was excellent!

With the complimentary wine they could have served a charcuterie of cheeses and salamis and fruits, especially for the price you pay. Otherwise everything else was fantastic!

Amazing building, fantastic rooms and an excellent bar. Everything you need in great hotel.

No lift, dragging suitcases up and down stairs wasn't great. I am sure someone would have taken them for us, but for expediency we did it ourselves. I understand lifts are difficult with an old building and it is a minor point.

When we arrived we were given a very small room. Given that we paid $1000/night, I asked if another room was available. The front desk staff were very accommodating , offering us a few different rooms, one of which (Room 310) was terrific. WE loved it and everything else about the hotel!

Absolutely stunning property. The staff go above and beyond to help you and make you feel welcome. Beautiful bar and delicious spread for the champagne breakfast. Extremely close to the beach as well, so you have a gorgeous view from the Ocean View rooms, and just a short walk away.
