We booked this hotel as a bit of a splurge having read the excellent reviews and the inclusion of a private outdoor onsen as part of the room. Rooms were beautifully appointed (modern, high end, traditional) with everything you could need. Loved the delineation of outside shoes and inside footwear and the provision of yukata's for dining. The food is traditional Japanese and we enjoyed the hotel dinner one night which was 8 courses of incredibly unique and delicious dishes (with a significant proportion of seafood.) The service was impeccable, friendly and polite, you are escorted to breakfast and dinner to your dedicated eating space. Lounge access is open for tea, coffee and juice throughout the day. But truly the best part was, after a day of cycling around the lakes or hiking, to be able to sink into 41 degree water in your own private onsen... bliss!

Everything was excellent. The staff were friendly. The check-in process was quick and they arranged a taxi for us at checkout. It was also an excellent location. The room exceeded our expectations with 2 large tvs, heated floors, large private onsen. Very clean, well maintained, and comfy. We had a great a great time.

We had no complaints and plan to return. I would highly recommend this onsen.

We stayed at the Aoinoma suite which was very spacious with two separate toilets. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner at the accommodation was amazing, highly recommend at least trying it once. The aircon was great, wifi was great, and private onsen was great too, except we didn't use it much as we were visiting in summer and it was too hot even at night. It would be great for autumn/winter seasons. The lounge which is open from 8am-6pm has complimentary drinks including starbucks coffee machine, coke, tea, orange juice and white and red wine. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, however, limited in English, hence being able to speak a bit of Japanese would be handy.

If we are to nitpick, the pillows were quite soft for our liking and the fridge was quite small, whereby the freezer compartment was tiny and did not work very well.

A Truly Special Traditional Ryokan Experience at Fuji Onsenji Yumedono We stayed at Fuji Onsenji Yumedono, a beautiful traditional Japanese ryokan located near Lake Kawaguchiko, and it was a truly special experience. We booked two rooms — one was a newer, modern villa-style suite in a separate area, which was absolutely lovely. The other room, for three adults, was located in the main building and was more traditional and a bit older in style. Each room includes a private onsen, which was a real highlight. Soaking in the hot spring bath after a long day of exploring was incredibly relaxing and luxurious. The main building has a cozy lounge with complimentary hot and cold drinks, available throughout the day — a very nice touch. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, offering some of the best service we encountered in Japan. Breakfast was served in a traditional Japanese-style dining room. Since we don’t eat fish, the staff kindly arranged a Western-style breakfast for us the next morning without any issue. Overall, this was a unique and memorable experience, blending warm hospitality, traditional charm, and modern comfort. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful and authentic stay near Mount Fuji.

The only thing we found slightly uncomfortable was the pillows, which were quite firm and not to our personal preference.

We enjoyed the private onsen in our apartment and the zen environment of the property. I appreciate the service crew’s extra mile of services and helpfulness. It was great to have onsite parking facilities too.

We found a cockroach in our apartment. However, given that it’s a landed property facility, we have decided to overlook this as pests tend to appear for ground floor properties. The traditional Japanese breakfast set is filled with different fish dishes and preserved vegetables. Although it can be challenging for foreigners to accept, we felt that it’s a good way for us to experience the local culture.

Room was beautiful and so clean, the Onsen was incredible! It was so nice having the Onsen all to ourselves, and there was still so much room for us both. For context we are both plus sized and still felt like we didn't need to be on top of each other or take turns, there was plenty of room. The staff were very courteous and kind. We told the property we were traveling for our honeymoon so when we got to the room they gave us a lovely bottle of white wine! For breakfast the next morning we were treated to the private room that has a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji! It was one of the highlights of our whole two-week Japan trip. I will say the food is absolutely delicious and served in the most beautiful way! But it was so much food and we felt terrible for not being able to finish it all, so make sure you go to meals hungry! There's also a lot of fish, majority of the meal is fish, so keep that in mind if you're not a fish person. Overall we had such a lovely and relaxing time!

So like I said we're plus sized, and I probably should have indicated that on the initial reservation. We did have a hard time fitting into the yukata they had available. I didn't realize it would be an issue but that's an American for you, and Japan is definitely made for thinner people. For context we're about a 22-24 US women's size. So if you're on the heavier side, indicate that ahead of time so maybe they can acquire yukata that'll fit nicer. But again that could've been fixed ahead of time, I just didn't think to ask before we got there!

Love the size of the room and the onsen within the room! The service was exceptional, from the moment we arrived in the car and they usher us to the room to complete the entire check-in process. All service staff was very polite and helpful. The Kaiseki Dinner was great for both adult and they specially curated for my 2yo. Thank you for their patience on my terrible 2 toddler during meal time.

It would be great if breakfast was not inclusive daily and can be optional. Having similar spread for 3 consecutive days can be a tad too much. I was comfortable to pay for 2yo children's accommodation but the compulsory breakfast was not customized to children and therefore we had too much food wasted. The lounge was great but the operating hours are too short - wanted to grab like a drink after dinner is not possible as they close the lounge at 6pm. A tad expensive but it is worth a try!

The facilities were beautiful. The room was spacious and clean. The private onsen area was amazing, and I love that the temperature was adjustable - I just had to ask the staff to change it. I appreciated the shuttle services, and how for checkout they picked us up from our room and took our luggage for us - no need to go to the front desk for it. The lobby had complimentary drinks, including wine! And the breakfast dining area was private, and very delicious. It was fully Japanese style and exceeded my expectations.

Only thing is the price - we would have loved to stay additional nights if it was more affordable

Breakfast and dinner was Amazing. We stayed 2 nights, and only opted dinner for 1 night as we wanted to try out other local dining. The price for dinner is pricey, but I have to say it was worth the experience. A lot of attention to detail in this resort. Loved the room and stay (especially the private hot spring). One area to improve on is to have the host explain the entire facilities. I was wondering around and actually don't know if certain areas are for us to use or not. Communication with the staff was great, but online/email communication was sub-par, which is a bit weird if you ask me.

Very strict ruling and timings. Communication through email could be better. In order to book the dinner, they need at least 48 hours notice and the dinner timings are strict. If you can't make it, then you forfeit the dinner and they can't pack it up for you. There was some miscommunication as they email said be ready for dinner at 5, but when I was there, the host told me 6. They only have 2 timings for breakfast and dinner, so they aren't quite flexible in that aspect.

People were really friendly

I didn't like the set times for the dinner . 1830 is just too early and that was the latest time available . The dinner includes lots of soup and noodles , I would have rather seen more seafood and beef . The music playlist at the breakfast and dinner is always the same , they never change the playlist , after 1 day we know all the songs . The people are not flexible in this resort . Nothing can be changed . E.G we asked the room not to be cleaned initially but the next day we wanted it to be cleaned and that was not possible. For the price you pay the people have to be more flexible . It would have been nice to see the chef during dinner and breakfast but he never came to the table . Drinks are very limited , they should add more options .
