Stepping into the Bed & Breakfast Garden 40 was like finding an oasis in a gritty town. We loved the greenery and the serenity of the garden and greatly appreciated the non-smoking policy in a city like Belgrad where smoking is widely allowed also in indoors. The room itself was surprisingly spacious and and offered great value for money. The location is also very convenient with most of the main sights within walking distance. Breakfast was good, and filtered water and coffee and tea were available at any time, which was a plus. Tip: They offer airport transfer for a very fair and competitive price, worth checking out!

While Belgrad did not quite meet our expectation, we're glad we decided to stay at Bed & Breakfast garden 40.

Positive: - The bed is comfy, especially the cushions and the blankets. I had great night rest during my stay. That was the best for me. - The service was the second best of all. I had ordered an e-sim which did not work. The man at the desk helped me several times and tried to calm me because I was very panicked. Besides the e-sim, the other staff members were very helpful. All of my questions were answered. There was someone sitting at the desk 24/7. - I had a transfer via the hotel, the driver was very nice. During the transfer, he told me some stuff about the buildings that we drove by. He even told me that they (seperate company, not from the hotel but from the driver) arrange tours. I had a tour to Novi Sad and Indija Shopping Center. The company is called ‘Tour & Travel’. I had an amazing day, the guide told me a lot of interesting information and we also socialized. I look forward to come here again and book another tour with him! - Everything was very clean. - The room also smelled very nice, a bit floral. - The curtains can be closed very well. The room can get very dark so that I could sleep well. - I love the interior. - There is a lot of space on the floor to open your suitcase. - The shower power is high. - The breakfast tasted good, there was not a lot to choose from but that was fine for me. - The location is perfect, it is right near the centre. - There is an ATM on the corner. - There is wifi in the room and in the breakfast room. - Since I travel a lot, I can be more critical as usual. The positives are way more important than the negatives here. I would really recommend staying here!

Negative: - The wifi does not always work well. - I can’t access the storage room in the bathroom easily because of my nails. - The room between the wall and the bed is very narrow. I stubbed my toe very badly. - There is only 1 small garbage bin the room and it is in the bathroom. There is a bigger bin in the hall. - It is a bit cold in the room. My feet get cold if I don’t have my shoes on in the room. - Some of the lights flicker a bit for a second after they are turned off. - To take hot showers, you will have to leave your boiler on during your whole stay. Plus my hot shower was maximum 10 minutes so that is a bit short for me.

I had high expectations yet this place exceeded all of them. The room was exceptionally clean and wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was so helpful and nice. The welcome was so warm and they showed us all the places we could go and see. The staff also helped call a taxi when we needed it and I was sad I only booked two nights in the end. It's also within walking distance of everything. 10/10

The only thing I thought could be improved was the dining area. There was little space inside and some people had to sit outside of the terrace, which for summer would be nice, but not for October. But that was a minor detail in comparison to everything else.

The location, between the central bus station and the start of the Knez Mihailosa walk street at the main square, was absolutely perfect. However, the main bus station moved to New Belgrade after my stay. It’s still a great location. The garden is a kind of oasis in the middle of an intensely urban city, which was very nice. Breakfast was very nice. People working at the hotel were very friendly.

The mounting for the shower head in my bathroom was broken. And there was no tub, only a shower stall. This means I had to run the shower, hanging off the temperature knobs, spraying on the floor, whenever I needed my hands free to soap myself, rinse my hair, etc.

1.The location of this housing is great the central area is really close and even the zoo. 2.The rooms were spacious and the bathroom as well. 3.The breakfast was enough, not too many options but from my opinion, we stayed 2 nights and it was plenty for all of us. 4. The only downside that the parking is a little bit difficult because of the crowded street but with one street above there is a parking garage and we could fit our VW mini van there. 5. The staff was friendly and they had good English knowledge. All in all it was a decent stay and we had a great time. Oh what I've forget they have an outdoor area with chairs and tables where you can gather with friends. If I'm going again in Belgrade this is the housing I would choose without hesitation.

The only downside was the one fridge for all rooms, where you couldn't fit everything you would like. But this problem can be solved easily.

1. Warm and welcoming staff. There was a massive protest in the city during the weekend I was in Belgrade, and althought it was safe, the staff really cared about me. They checked in on me, they called the railway station on my behalf to find out if trains were running etc. 2. Very clean property. Well maintained and aesthetic too. 3. Excellent location. Near enough to all the sights but far enough for peace and quiet.

Breakfast options were rather limited and could use some improvement.

First of all, considering all my messages and e-mails, the room we wanted was prepared as we wanted before we arrived. Even though we arrived before check-in time, we were taken directly to the room. As a guest with a baby, we were very pleased. Having your own garden gives you the opportunity to breathe. Breakfast pleased us, of course we felt the lack of tomatoes, cucumbers and olives, but after all, this is not our own home :) But the fruit cups, croissants and cakes delighted us. All employees were smiling and friendly. There is a mini-fridge in common use and we find it sufficient. The water heater, television and air conditioner in the room were working without any problems. Also furnitures are quite useful and comfortable. The location was perfect, it is far away from the crowded streets and traffic noise of the center but within walking distance to everywhere. We loved this place very much, if we visit Belgrade again, we will stay again. Thanks for everything.

Little note : The main door of the building we stayed (room 12) in makes a lot of noise when opening and closing.

I faced some critical issues as soon as I arrived to Belgrade. I had issues with my internet provider and credit card from my bank, so I was very nervous and under so much stress when I arrived to the hotel. They allowed me to stay in the room without charging me until I could solve the issues after some hours. I can't think of a better way to show confidence to a foreigner guest like me in a new country like Serbia. That attitude relaxed me the moment I really needed to be calmed to solve those issues. They are the perfect people to have around when things get complicated.

The location was very central, walkable to main attractions. There ae markets and cafes around. The main bus stop is so close. It has a garden as the name implies and having breakfast in the garden makes you feel like you are in a beach town gateway rather than in a city hotel; such a relaxing experience. The breakfast was open buffet with somewhat limited options but still good and sufficient. The room size was ok for 1 person. The staff was welcoming. I think it is a good value considering the money you pay, which was so much lower than the other options in the center at the time I made the reservation.

The Wifi was unstable time-to-time. The shelves in the bathroom were rusty, I think it is time for a change. I have stayed 3 days and I guess, the room was not cleaned as my sheets and towels were the same as I left the room. It would be nice if they took out the trash. I didn't mind the towels not being changed for just 3 days as I do not prefer that for sustainability reasons. however, I am sure they would do the cleaning and change the towels if I have asked. Also, my room was at the first floor where there is a tv and also breakfast is served. So it was a bit noisy in the morning and in the evening, you might ask for 2nd floor rooms if they have availability.

This was a nice little budget place that was a short walk from major sights. Staff very friendly and helpful! The breakfast area was a really nice bonus. Tea and coffee available any time of day or night. The room was big enough and comfortable. I know there are upstairs rooms but mine was ground floor and close, so easy for breakfast or a cup of coffee in the evening. Everything was nice and quiet during my stay!

The windows in my room faced an inner courtyard area. This was not noisy during my 4 night stay, but was occasionally a stopping point for conversations. The only reason this could be a problem is that the curtains weren’t quite big enough to cover the entire windows area. So I had to stand on the bed to maneuver curtains to one side or the other, depending on which side I wanted to leave a gap. Bigger curtains would be an easy improvement.
