We recently stayed at The Lofts Boutique Hotel for 3 nights in Tower 1, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The room had the best view of Knysna — absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality, which really set the tone for our stay. The room itself was beautiful, stylish, and spacious, and it was cleaned thoroughly every day. Everything was spotless and so well-maintained. We also loved the convenient location — with several great restaurants just a short walk away. We honestly can’t complain about a single thing. Our time at The Lofts was relaxing, comfortable, and exceeded all expectations. We’ll definitely be recommending it to friends and family — and we’re already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you to The Lofts team for making our trip so special!

Love love loved everything about our stay. It was only 2 nights but wish we had stayed long. There was something so calming and tranquil about the hotel, particularly the setting and sunrise and sunset; yet the hotel was a vibe too. The staff, the welcome, the location, the decoration was awesome. And the food…. Now the food, where do i start? My husband had the bao buns on the first night and exclaimed they were the best thing he’s ever eaten. But at breakfast the next morning he had the waffle with pulled beef with eggs (I think that’s right) and then claimed that was the best thing he’s ever eaten. The food was amazing! I loved the little no where you could sit outside on a small tucked away deck and read / relax with the complimentary beer or water. It was just lovely! I couldn’t recommend this hotel more and if we’re ever back in South Africa I would love to go back!

The design of the hotel is really quirky and offers a unique stay in what was an old boat shed. The loft style rooms are spacious and as a family, gave us more than enough room to store luggage etc. The location on Thesen Island is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area and a short walk across the nearby bridge takes you in the heart of Knysna. We ate The Nest restaurant, located within the hotel. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and provided us with blankets when the sun had set. It’s a beautiful little spot, overlooking the lagoon and is perfect for sundowners and dinners. The onsite bakery is also really good, particularly their pastries. It was a nice touch having a little lounge fridge where you could help yourself to ice cold beer and water. The free kayak rental is also a bonus, although we ran out of time on this trip.

Our room was situated directly above the restaurant and was extremely noisy until 10pm. If you would like to sleep before that time, it would be challenging. Tricky if you have small children and they need to rest earlier. The noise resumes again at 7am sharp so if you would like to lie in longer than that, it’s pretty much impossible. Earplugs are provided, however I couldn’t use those as I need to be able to listen out for my daughter in the night. Something to think about if you’re traveling with a family. The only other thing I was say is that the metal framed bed we had was particularly creaky…also not conducive to a quiet, restful sleep 😅

Everything. Beautiful hotel, amazing restaurant with one of the best breakfasts and dinners we had, unique and mouthwatering cocktails and incredibly friendly staff. The Lofts Boutique Hotel is one of the best places I have ever stayed at, as everything is to absolute perfection. Liesl and Dylan of the front office shared great tips on things to do, which allowed us to make the most out of our (too) short stay and everyone spoiled us with genuine and caring service. Can't wait to come back!

Our choice of only staying 2 nights. Way too short for such an amazing place :-) kidding aside: nothing as the Lofts is as good as it gets!

The view out of our Tower room was great. to the left right and centre we had views of the lagoon and all the activity going on. Just watching the tide go in and out with the fishing, boats and children playing was perfect. Lovely spacious room, very comfortable and luxurious. Lovely restaurant where we had some of the best meals of the holiday. We used the hotels bikes to explore the area and could have used their canoes if we had had time.

It was disappointing that the bakery restaurant was closed for breakfast on the Monday

We wanted a room with a view, and staying at the Lofts in Tower 1, we certainly got it. Private terrace, facing the lagoon where we could enjoy the sunset. The room was lovely and comfortable, decorated as beachy-chic. Lovely strong shower, just what you need after a dip in the lagoon. The breakfast (at Nest) was tasty, the bar had a cool vibe and there were plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. Lots of cute spaces within the hotel to chill out in if you can tear yourself away from the terrace and the hotel has kayaks too. Special mention of the concierge Dylan, who was super passionate about all the garden route had to offer and was so helpful with hints and tips on what to do within and around Knysna.

Apparently the bar and surrounding area can get a little noisy as people are having a good time, however we found the room perfectly sound proofed and relaxing and they provide ear plugs if you needed (we didn't need).

A beautiful location on the edge of the lagoon. We were lucky to have room T1, a lake view with balcony. A large spacious room, great comfortable bed, excellent shower and facilities in a super boutique hotel. A stylish, superbly presented modern hotel, great staff and free water and even beers in the hotel guest fridge! The sunset was beautiful and we watched from the privacy of our room balcony. Only a short walk into Kynsa harbour and several great restaurants and bars. A truly lovely place all round.

Everything was excellent.

The hotel was fabulous. The view from our room was amazing - they thought of everything in the room - extra drink water, biscuits, great coffee bar. Toiletries was great. Appreciated the underfloor heating in winter in Knysna. The hotel smelled wonderful. The staff was great and assisted us very kindly with a few things. Would love to go back as often as possible.

Had to to some admin and missed a writing desk and chair to sit by.

Very smooth check-in and all staff were friendly and professional - Dylan was especially helpful throughput our stay. Lovely room overlooking the bay and breakfast was very good. Great location with a choice of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity and a wider choice also within walking / short taxi drive distance. Reception supplied towels for our trip to the beach.

Not a huge fan of the open plan bathroom set-up in our room but to be fair this was highlighted at the booking stage. Impossible to have dinner in the on-site restaurant due to high number of external reservations from non-residents. Hotel bar closes rather early, e.g. 9 / 9:30pm.

First off, big shout out to all the staff who were excellent. Also special mention for Allan who went above and beyond to help with anything required. He took his own time to give us places where to go, good restaurants where to eat on our journeys, and always available for questions when needed. The room itself was fantastic with 1 balcony over looking the lagoon which was great at sunset. The front balcony had a couple of cape owls who gave great company throughout the stay 😁.
