Hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was a great size and comfortable. Great portions on the evening menu options, food was good. Breakfast was lovely, great hot and cold options. Staff are a Credit to the hotel from the front desk to the bar to breakfast to the cleaner who helped us rescue a forgotten toy after we had checked out. Ideal location for the hospital. Will be sure to stay again when we're back. Great price for the stay, hotel showing it's age in parts but that's where the history is.

The breakfast was excellent, the hotel was IMPECCABLY clean, you could eat off the surfaces. The bedrooms had either been very recently renovated, very well maintained or both. the room was completely spotless and all in room facilities were in excellent condition. The price was very low and my expectations were low as a result - however, the rooms were warm, comfortable and exceptionally clean. I would have happily paid twice what I was paid and considered it good value.

The public areas of the hotel were tired in places - clean but tired - mostly the halls between rooms - a few doors appeared to be damaged or off the hinges showing into service areas of the hotel, but it was hardly a cardinal sin.

The hotel has a lovely 'hang out' room decorated beautifully with amazing antique furniture & paintings. It's the perfect spot to read a book and relax . The hotel has a lovely warm, cosy & elegant Feel to it. The food is delicious 😋 The bedroom was exceptionally clean & the bed & pillows were super comfortable. The staff are lovely & friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

There's nothing to dislike.

We stayed at the Ballykelly the night after surgery at Kingsbridge. The hotel is lovely and really well situated, literally across the road. The staff were lovely and friendly too, we are in the bar that night, portions were HUGE and delicious, very reasonably priced for such an amount. The selection of breads fruits and cereals and juices for breakfast were yummy.

The only one niggle I had was the cooked food for breakfast was overdone (potato bread and sausage were burned)

Breakfast was excellent - able to order what you wanted and it was cooked to order. The meal on the previous evening also was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty of free parking at the hotel.

Only a minor niggle, but the shower was quite a challenge. There was a fine line between scalding hot and freezing cold. It took a bit of time to get it set at the very fine line of being comfortable, but it was doable ... eventually :)

As soon as you walk in you are welcomed as if you were family coming for a visit. The receptionist was so lovely and friendly. The kitchen was about to close but Jim brought us into the bar and arranged food for us. There was a group of musicians having a session and when they heard where we were from we got a fabulous rendition of the Galway shawl! Food was fabulous, staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again! 😊

That we didn't stay longer!

Very kind and helpful staff, lovely comfortable beds rooms perfectly clean, food was delicious and incredible value (3 course dinner for £25!). The hotel also provide a free cooked breakfast along with a continental breakfast (fruit, toast, pancakes, juice etc). Locals in the area were also very friendly, we would highly recommend this hotel (very nice chipper just down the road as well some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten!)

Gorgeous historic building in a beautiful location. Run by a lovely, helpful family. The owner gave me a number for a taxi when I phoned from the bus when I was about to get off in Dungiven. I had a wonderful massage from daughter,Julie-Anne, in her cottage in the grounds of the hotel. Food was delicious. Stupendous Irish breakfast.

The only thing that needs improving is the carpets which have had a lot of wear and tear and could do with replacing.

All the staff were truly amazing at such a time due to my husbands surgery at the hospital opposite the hotel.

Allowing smoking in the outside dining area when guests are having meals. The dirty smell of smoking is off putting the meals that chef's have taken such effort to prepare and serve.

Everything. From parking to going up the front steps through the front door reception excellent. A lot of customers checking in at the one time and the one receptionist very professional polite efficient and calm . A very attractive girl . Spotless clean and a warm comfortable atmosphere. My room very comfortable. Food to my liking and fresh . All an affordable priced . big yes . I will stay again no problem.
