The location was an easy walk from the train station, online check-in was a breeze, arrival was a breeze, the staff were really pleasant, the complimentary drink vouchers are a great bonus, everything you could want in terms of easy access cafe/restaurant/pub breakfast, lunch and dinner, two supermarkets and a park were all within a few minutes walk. The room was just the right size, larger and more comfortable than some we've previously paid more to stay in.
The was very little we didn't like about the location and room. Perhaps the beds were a little soft but that is just a matter of personal taste.

It’s quite nice for a hotel above a pub. The free parking is great and the outdoor sitting area of the pub is lovely. But you have to keep an open mind when you arrive because the check-in process is a little odd - Enter a code to get in, walk down a creepy hallway to find a lounge that needs a clean and a locked cupboard in the wall with a reception sign above it and a sign by a telephone saying to call to check-in. It’s unusual. But I get it, it’s a pub. They’re not gonna have someone sitting around a reception desk waiting for people to check in. But after calling, the lady came really quickly, was friendly and helpful, and gave us vouchers for a free drink. So can’t complain, really. The important part is the room. That’s why we go to a hotel, right? Well I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I have stayed above pubs before and generally it’s been a basic crash pad and that’s about it. But this place put in effort to make it nice. The room was really spacious, there was free wifi, a kettle, tea and coffee, milk and water bottles in the fridge with chilled glasses, and a pen on the desk which we appreciated as we had forgotten to write in the birthday card we had bought for the friend whose party we were there to attend. The bathroom was huge and the soaps in the bathroom were nice quality, too. We found the beds comfy, and the room was surprisingly quiet. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub. I know some people don’t like windowless rooms, but as a light sleeper I actually love it because normally hotels have useless blinds that don’t block out much light and I end up waking up at dawn. But in this room I could just close the bathroom door and the room was nice and dark.
With a bathroom that size, they had plenty of room for a rack for the hand towel. It was kind of odd that they didn’t have anywhere to hang it. There was a hook on the back of the door, but the hand towel fell on the floor the first time I used it. I also would have liked wash cloths and nicer towels. The spare towel under the sink was actually bigger and softer than the ones hanging up for us to use. More towels like that one would have been great as the ones on the rack were small and thin.

What a great pub. Rooms are perfect with a great renovated bathroom. Big comfortable bed and air conditioning. Big HD TV with Netflix etc. parking at the rear, great pub food, big 3 supermarkets at your door, restaurants, coffee shops, busses and taxi's seconds away. 10 minute bus ride into Wollongong and 10 minute walk to the beach. Train station 5 minute walk. Excellent value for money for an old pub that's been rejuvenated. Way better than staying right in wollongong.
Pot hole driving into entrance lol

The room was very clean and well equipped and the 2 complimentary drinks at the bar was a lovely touch. We also had a seniors meal for dinner.Great value. The staff in the hotel were very helpful, especially Ewen who went out of his way to answer a few questions we had and provided great service.Had to find this sort of service these days.Thanks.
Although parking was fine, the location of the parking initially made us feel uncomfortable.Didn't seem safe.We don't know the area but first impression was dodgy.Once we checked in and got to room, everything changed.

I stayed there before and I liked it because of the area (near station, supermarket, safe). However, this time I forgot to ask if the room has a window. We had a room without a window. The room was good, but I am not comfortable without a window. I think the hotel should clearly specify when the room has no window.
I think they do not do room cleaning. We stayed 3 nights and they took the garbage once, and gave us some clean towels.

Upon arrival, staff were very polite and attentive. I got a little confused about checking in, as the reception area was located in another area of the hotel, but i was met by staff who was kind enough to explain the process of checking in, where everything was and how long staff were on site for. Given the fact that this was a "standard room," the room was clean, with a modern look that exceeded beyond my expectations.

The position of the Hotel is absolutely amazing! You have everything you need at a walking distance and the cleanliness really exceeds my expectation since for me it is an ABSOLUTE MUST! I'll definitely come back in the future!
It doesn't depend on the hotel staff but one night it was impossible to sleep since a family with children was doing so much noise slamming doors and talking in the corridor after midnight despite the kind signs from the hotel staff.

Stayed 3 nights, 4 of us, Room No. 14, our room is separate from other rooms, it was quiet and we loved it! Our room has a wall in between beds so the AC can’t perform optimally because of the wall. Our room was good size, has coffees, teas, sugar, glasses, wine glasses, 4 cups, 4 teaspoons, ironing board, an iron, extra blanket, it was clean, toiletries got topped up daily, our room got daily service too = clean towels daily plus Netflix on TV too! Good size bathroom. Top of shower glass and shower door were clean. I did check because we hang our towels on them. More towel rail would be great to hang all 4 towels. Everyone was helpful: the guy at the Pub showed us the hotel ‘entrance’ / door, the Reception (Sadie - hope I spelled her name right) was friendly and helpful, the housekeepers (a senior lady and a young lady) are polite, friendly and helpful. We got extra pillows but since there were already extra pillows on our beds, we returned them back to the housekeeper (a senior lady). Got complimentary 4 welcome drinks (but we forgot about them 😬), complimentary 4 bottles of water and 2 small carton of milk, topped up daily too!! Location: close to Woolies, Coles, Aldi and Pharmacy, as well as fast food joints, Asian grocery, cafes and restaurants! We booked about 11 days in advance so the rate was higher. If we booked on the D day, it would be $81 cheaper/night 🤭 No lifts, but we already aware of this, it’s not an issue at all. I personally not a fan of the ‘Entrance’ / door, mainly because of the cigarette smoke. Patrons smoke at the back of the Pub which is where the ‘Entrance’ / door is. One afternoon, we came back and we could smell cigarette smoke along the ‘Entrance’ hallway, lucky our room (all rooms) is upstairs. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Great staff. A chap called Darcy who helped us check in was lovely and helpful. Kelly the cleaner was absolutely wonderful, running after us as my husband had left his laptop bag behind.
Shower ran hot and cold so it was very hard to adjust the appropriate temperature and when it was right, it would suddenly get hot or cold again. Bed was too soft for our preference. Unfortunately there was some hair on the bedsheet and floor upon arrival.
