Very lovely rooms, excellent breakfast choices and a good pub menu for dinner with lovely specials (I can particularly recommend their mussels if they have them on the specials board!), very friendly staff (& owners, though not sure who were the owners, they didn't make themselves known to us as such, but presumably were on site). The location is lovely in the middle of the village of Lostwithiel and there is plenty of parking available on a first-come first-served basis (we never had an issue, though the pub does fill up in the evenings, which is actually lovely).

lovely old building and typical british village pub, which is what we wanted. good breakfast and dinners, friendly staff with suggestions and advice on transport and activities, and a location outside the bustle of towns but on the train line to st ives, plymouth, st austell, and short driving distance to fowie, mevagissey, bodmin, hagelen and eden project. free parking on site, and ability to reserve a space for pub resident at busy times. outside patio for afternoon drinks - pub snug if you want more company. bed was comfortable and clean, and the water was hot - really, what more could you want? this place exceeded our expectations in all respects. congratulations graham and crew.

very, very minor issues. step down from shower to floor level had me trip once because i forgot, no cupboard to hang clothes, internal narrow stair made it tricky for suitcases. however, these were very minor issues and would not stop us going back. worth mentioning that it IS a pub and therefore Friday and Saturday nights are noisy. this did not bother us but the noise does travel and on karaoke night the bass reverberates through the walls. quite amusing actually to feel the music in your bed. publican warned us about the karaoke night so it was not a surprise.

Breakfast was sublime, I originally ordered poached eggs on toast until I saw another guests breakfast arrive and quickly changed my order to the full English, truly scrummy- the coffee was also very good. The evening before I had fish & chips and again, very very tasty with no lingering fried flavour. The fish was very fresh and beautifully cooked. The landlord and staff made me and my dog feel very welcome, the locals were equally friendly. I would not hesitate recommending The Royal Oak Inn, it surpassed itself on value for money. I know where I'll be booking the next time I come to Cornwall.

The Royal Oak inn is the best b&b my wife and I have ever stayed at. It’s in a perfect location close to everything. We stayed in room number 5 it’s really comfortable has everything you need in it and has great views. The breakfast is really good and you get lots of it. The meals in the pub are really nice and you get loads of food and it’s reasonably priced. All the staff are really nice and happy and can’t do enough for you. The two owners/hosts are really nice and make you feel at home from the second you get there. The entertainment is very good and varied. We will definitely stay here again. The staff were very welcoming and very friendly. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were wonderful and so friendly and helpful, even making me a birthday cake and decorating our table. Nothing was too much for them. It was obviously a very popular and well used pub by locals.

On occasion we had to eat earlier as the dining room was being used for a quiz or a meeting and being a pub it was a bit noisy, but expected so we really did not mind too much.

Very comfortable room which was clean, bright and spacious. Good choice on the breakfast menu, we had the full English each day and it was beautifully cooked and arrived at the table pipping hot. We had dinner there most days, excellent choices on the menu especially the specials board. Everything we had was beautifully cooked and flavoursome. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. The location was so central to everything we wanted to visit.

The breakfast was hugh, you didn't need anything else till your evening meal. the room was great, very comfy bed. All the staff were very friendly. We would book Royal Oak Inn if we went to lostwithiel again.

Bed very very small and room very very hot even with window open/fan on. Bathroom ceiling mouldy. Bedding and pillows feather, very scratchy quills and zip on duvet and bed uncomfy, didnt sleep well

Rooms were newly done up and comfy. Breakfast was good.

Parking is a little tight
