Tried the room for 6 people: very large room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large living room, kitchen with oven and microwave, dish washer, washing machine, dryer, two balcony, Nespresso coffe machine, Apartments share some facilities (gym and swimming pool) with the Portman Ritz hotel. Breakfast was included (you get vouchers): you can choose between a western restaurant (Baker & Spice) and asian restaurant (Saigon Mama). I normally prefer western breakfast... but the quality at "baker and spice" was not so good. Even the coffee was better at the asian restaurant! Go for it! Restaurants are downstairs and you need to exit the apartment building to reach them. Personnel was kind: they will replenish coffee, and other stuff if needed. Just ask. Suggestion: ad an option to have breakfast at the "Portman's" (the Ritz reasturant). I would pay an extra to have breakfast there! It could be possible since the property of Ritz and ServicedApartment is the same. 10 minutes walk to subway station (Line 2) 50-90 minutes drive from Pudong Airport (Taxi will take about 200-250Rmb) . Plan accordingly Room rate might look expensive, but you get a good value for the money (you are in Shanghai center after all)

Add an option to have breakfast at the Portman's... I would pay an extra! To access to gym and swimming pool need to make a registration every day: you get a voucher that allows 4 persons access. If your group is larger you need to insist to get an additional voucher.

The location is excellent. It is located in Shanghai's earliest one-stop commercial center - Shanghai Mall. There are shops, salons, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. When it is inconvenient to go out on rainy days, you can also enjoy all the services inside the mall. This place is suitable for family travel. The better thing than Portman is that the room has a kitchen. It is very useful if you have a small baby. Elder kids could play in the sky garden or the outdoor playground.

During my stay, there were facilities under construction on the adjacent plot, which was sometimes too noisy in the morning.

There were five adults and one child in our group, and we were thoroughly impressed by the apartment. It offered three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen and a comfortable dining area. The beds varied in size: one was rather small for two people, another was adequately sized, and the bed in the master bedroom was exceptionally large. All bathrooms were equipped with a bathtub, and the master bathroom also featured a separate shower. The interior design reflected a tasteful 1990s style, yet everything was in remarkably good condition. Several air-conditioning units with both cooling and heating functions ensured a pleasant indoor climate at all times. The kitchen was fully equipped and left nothing to be desired, including a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. Although we do not consider China to be a frontrunner in terms of service culture and often find interactions to be somewhat brusque, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff here. Breakfast was available in two nearby establishments: one was a café offering a Western-style menu (various sandwiches with hot drinks or juice), the other a Vietnamese restaurant serving Pho, rice soup, or sandwiches with a beverage. A more extensive breakfast buffet was available at the neighbouring Ritz for an additional charge. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay and would gladly return at any time.

Although the apartment was not as nice as the previous one we rented (this on is on the 11th floor), it has everything of what was promised in the booking: it is spacious, with clean and larger bathrooms. The staff (reception and cleaning) were friendly. The apartment is cleaned every day, which is nice. We like the fact that there is breakfast included in the apartment, where we could go to one of the two small café nearby. The beds are comfortable, the sound isolation was good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Good local Chinese restaurants can be found outside of the Shanghai Center complex.

There are certain distances to the local restaurants. The small eateries within the Shanghai Center complex are oriented to Westerner taste with exorbitant prices. Getting a taxi is problematic without a local-app. We went to Ritz-Carlson front, where the bell-captains seem to have their own “preferred” taxi drivers.

The complementary breakfast and facilities were excellent. The serviced apartment even had a supermarket nearby, and the front desk staff were helpful with check-in and our online deliveries.

Booking.com providing the address in Chinese would have facilitated the check-in process, especially for a large group with elderly members. A big thank you to the Ritz-Carlton staff who guided me and looked after my luggage while I searched for the correct building in the complex.

Location, facilities and breakfast.

WiFi very poor and annoying. Constantly being cut off and need to put in mobile number every single time to get verification code; and half of the time doesn't even work. Cleaning team is not dedicated enough, not as good as last time (Aug 2023) we visited. For example, dirty kitchen towels are not replaced, dirty socks will be just left where they were, after their vacuuming/cleaning the floor.

I’m surprised to see the negative reviews as we had a great stay here. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment that was very spacious and well appointed. The location is so convenient and walking distance to the Metro (line 2). There is a great kids play area and supermarket in the centre plus many other good restaurants.

It was a bit tricky to locate within the centre so we had to ask around before finding where to check in. There could be clearer directions.

We had the “penthouse” on the top floor of the west building. It is a great apartment: spacious, clean and having a nice view. Additionally, there is a private terrace on the roof-top, which is rare in Shanghai. The apartment is cleaned daily, where coffee capsule are provided. In particular, we appreciate the early check-in since our flight arrived in Shanghai early. The communication with the hotel were always friendly, prompt and professional. The breakfast vouchers were provided, which also made our stay enjoyable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Due to its large space, it is a perfect accommodation for families with older children.

The distances to the metro station and difficulties to get a taxi without local Apps. The high price.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Shanghai Centre Serviced Apartments! The location is perfect—there are so many great restaurants, shops, and attractions all within walking distance. It made exploring the city so much easier and more enjoyable. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for convenience and comfort during their stay in Shanghai.

LOVED the breakfast at Baker and Spice! Loved the amenities nearby. Loved the washer and dryer in the apartment- very new and works very well. Gym facilities at Portman Ritz carlton were great.

One of our toilets keeps getting clogged and we had to call the service staff in a few times. Rooms were comfortable though pillows were a bit soft. First part of the trip- the 2 apartments we booked were on different floors. 2nd part of the trip- they were very close and on the same floor which is great.
