Really happy and cheerful host on arrival who shared some local knowledge of the penguins and even offered me muffins to have with a cup of tea. Convenient location, close to historic area which we loved. The property is a little dated in the bathroom but functional. The 2 bedroom unit was spacious and met our needs for the night. The host was one of the friendliest people I have come across in motels whilst travelling NZ

The toilet was very low to the ground which could be a struggle for some. The shower / bath could perhaps be updated at some point but it was functional.

The host was lovely. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Excellent range of kitchen utensils etc. Great size bathroom.

Only thing I was disappointed in was if you filled the bath you were then out of hot water. I booked this motel specifically for the use of a bath.

Lovely, easy going, clean place to stay for a night.. We were kindly up graded to a room with a spa.. It had everything we needed….

If I have to say anything negative, it would be that the room is in need of an update. Shower, tap fixtures, skirting boards, paint job, especially heating, was all very old and on its way out….

We are a family of 3, travelling with our dog and this place suited us perfectly. Added bonus, the motel is just next to a big park and therefore was good for morning and evening walks with him. The unit is well equipped, clean, tidy and the rooms are spacious. Situated on main street but was quiet and driving distance to attractions were close to it. Wylie at reception was very welcoming and friendly.

excellent and very friendly staff, place is clean and have everything you need for a short comfortable stay. location is great with shops a close walk to and the f you have a dog like me, a park is just beside the motel so super convenient for walks.

Netflix on the tv would be great (I didn’t try the wifi though which is free). shower is a bit on the short side and I’m not a tall person by any means.

We received a very warm welcome. Room very clean, warm and comfortable. Loved the electronic bedside cabinets.

Not complaints, but the bathroom and kitchen taps really need an upgrade. More electric plugs needed, by kitchen bench and in living area for laptops etc.

there’s nothing not to like

We love the location and the size of the unit. We appreciate having a couch and a dining table. The host is a very friendly person and had lots of special ideas.

It is getting a bit tired looking. The couch is very low and uncomfortable. We have stayed before a couple of years ago and nothing seems to have been upgraded.

We did not order a breakfast, but all the facilities were there if you wished to cook your own meals. The complimentary muffins on arrival was a nice extra. We enjoyed our stay.

We were happy with everything, so have nothing to complain about.
