This was our first trip to Sydney - I was hoping for accommodation with a view of the iconic harbour and came across The Sebel Quay West Suites on booking.com - harbour view apartment looked amazing and hoped it lived up to exoectations. . We arrived in the harbour on a cruise ship and scoured the city landscape from the deck hoping to spot our chosen hotel but failing to match the picture on booking .com with our view we remained skeptics that our harbour view would live up to expectations - how wrong we were - our room was on the 22nd floor- as we entered the apartment I shed a tear - the view was totally spectacular - the apartment immaculate , exceptionally well appointed and totally exceeded our expectations - the location in The Rocks area from our point of view was perfect - a few minutes walk from Circular Quay where we could jump on the Ferry’s, a stones throw from the Opera House and surrounded by vibrant bars and restaurants . The staff at the Sebel are fantastic - so friendly and helpful - we had a truly memorable stay - our ambition is a return trip to Sydney as we loved it so much and we would choose to stay at the Sebel Quay West Suites with Harbour View every time - totally exceeded our expectations.

Overall the views are just outstanding but the cleanliness let it down! This was a surprise trip for my dad so at the time, I didn’t want anything to go wrong. Therefore I didn’t complain so as not to spoil our trip! However spending over $1000 per night is obviously an expensive trip, and you’d expect everything to be absolutely perfect! Cleaning throughout the apartment could have better and there was a slightly mouldy smell which we all ignored due to the views and the fact that this was a special trip! The sofa looked really worn and grubby, One thing that let it down significantly was the bath tubs and jacuzzi, on draining the bath the jets were absolutely disgustingly filthy and there was a lot of dirt built up! Unfortunately I had already used the tub 🤮 when I called down I was told maintenance would come up although no apology or acknowledgment that this wasn’t acceptable. Just a bit disappointing given the amount we paid! Kitchen is basically equipped and you’d struggle to prepare a meal with what is provided and most of the cupboards are empty. Pool area is great but not if you can’t navigate slippy steps, it’s really not accessible for anyone with mobility issues!

Stunning views of the Harbour Bridge, Daws Point , The Rocks , Sydney Opera House & Circular Quay from our 2 bedroom suite . We had such a large lounge diner kitchen , it was amazing , so well equipped for cooking. Milk and tea coffee left , great coffee machine. We were impressed on arrival , concierge were lovely , they took our car and parked it for us next door - a valet service you pay for extra , but so worth it . They kept the keys securely & we rang them when we needed car and it was brought to entrance - a great service. Reception staff were lovely too . We could gave booked a breakfast in their restaurant but decided to self cater instead , but nice to have the option. Everywhere is walking distance from the apartments. The Rocks and market was 5 mins , Circular Quay 7 mins . Loved our 5 day stay so much we were sad to leave. Highly recommend Sebel Quay West.

Nothing it was all amazing

The apartment was fantastic with lots of space, plenty of light and a good view of the city. The location was extremely convenient, and staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was great too

There wasn’t much kitchen equipment. There were some utensils, but only two pots and no frypan which made it difficult to cook. There was an oven, but there were no dishes that could be used in it. Internet access was frustrating. Either you had to sign up for their loyalty program (which I had no intention of doing) or you could have free “low speed wifi“. You had to reconnect every 24 hours and while it was fast enough for streaming it buffered regularly

Views, the only property I could find, offering a reasonably p iced room with views of both the Bridge and the Opera House, best value views in Sydney.

We loved our room. It was spacious and great for a family of four (with 2 kids - 6 mths and 4 yr old). Fantastic location- I woke up early one morning and enjoyed a stroll along Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House before all the other tourists showed up (and before the kids woke up) - it was so close and easy. We also easily walked to the weekend market and restaurants in the Rocks area. Great amenities - we really enjoyed the pool, and the view from the observation deck was breathtaking. Staff were extremely helpful and kind. Would love to visit Sydney again and would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic view and great location, spacious apartment. Kids loved the pool.

Furniture was a bit weared. The restaurant worked just for breakfasts and dinners, no option to have something outside of these limited hours and room service doesn’t operate outside these periods. Menu was not impressive at all - not a big issue considering uber eats delivery but the expectations were different. The swimming pool and hot tub had very high level of chlorine in water, might be ok for couple of short swims but cannot imagine staying there for longer.

Easy, fast check in with lovely staff who were more than happy to help. They were happy to hold our bags before and after our stay as we arrived quite early and had to wait for a cruise time the following day. Nice to have a laundry and kitchen in the apartment - bath for kids was also a nice welcome bonus. Separate bedroom from living areas, and a dining table big enough for all 4 of us was nice. Well set out, great location and staff.

Would have appreciated a heads up about the very steep hill climb with A LOT of luggage and 2 tired kids in tow. Best advice is to be fit, or call ahead and they will let you know about the secret elevator half way down the hill that makes life so much easier. Or take a taxi/uber from the train station to avoid the humiliation of lugging the kids and bags up the hill!

Great location for access to The Rocks, harbour area, city centre, and the ferries. Breakfast was very good. Facilities in the apartment were everything I needed.

The biggest issue I had was with noise. First room I was allocated (level 9) had a very noisy air conditioner, I told the staff and they gave me a different room (level 10) which was better. Given the proximity to the main road I was expecting some traffic noise but it was much louder than I was expecting. After a stormy night I saw wet patches on the floor under the bedroom window, looking more closely I saw that the seal around windows was very worn which was letting the rain in and probably contributed to the noise issues. Overall, I could see the apartment had a degree of [past] luxury but it was all looking a bit dated and worn.

We stayed at the Sebel Quay West suites for one week and this hotel was the perfect location we needed for our time in Sydney. Conveniently located in the Rocks close to trains, ferries, trams and buses what it was great for our stepping off points for day trips. The room itself was really nice - a large lounge/dining area with kitchen which we used to cook a few meals and a large separate bedroom. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

The wifi was not stable and would drop out regularly.
