Loved it. Amazing location. Beautiful room. Very good service. Loved the sauna and steam room in the pool area. Beautiful linen in the room. Interiors are exceptional. Brassiere food and service outstanding. A really luxurious few days away without the kids! Air conditioning wasn’t working properly on first night, taken care of promptly and completely rectified for second and third nights. In hotels like this with commensurate price there will occasionally be problems, and it’s completely how they get handled. Capella management handled it perfectly. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Brand new and very beautiful and sophisticated inside. Very friendly and professional staff. Very nice pool and sauna area, and excellent gym, but pool felt a bit cold. Could still swim though. Breakfast buffet quite small but good quality. Nice history lecture for guests. Nice "living room" with lounge furniture for guests but could be more practical with a desk if one wanted to work on a laptop. Nice area 2 min walk to the ferries.
The only significant issue is that many rooms (at least the two we saw) are mostly with not so nice views to street or to the inside glas-covrered courtyard, which is modern and part of the hotel, but not too cheerful. The not so nice view made me rate 9 instead of 10. Also that there was no desk in the room, so not too practical for work, but seems other rooms have it. I think such a hotel should have a Japan/Asian style toilet and not a standard Aussie toilet. I would have thought asian guests expect it.

Excellent modern rooms and we enjoyed the indoor pool and gym.
We overslept breakfast and staff did not offer us any solution to have later breakfast, I would expect more help given the price range of this hotel.

The breakfast is absolutely beautiful, the scrambled eggs are second to none, the signature donuts are amazing , the quality of food is superb… do not miss the breakfast!!!
There is nothing I didn’t like, but This hotel is considered a Non view hotel, so unless you get a room on one of the top levels and probably a corner room you won’t get much of a view. But that’s what the trade off is when you stay in a beautiful building that is over 100 years old . So although the view was non existent I would not be deterred from staying at this establishment. The hotels location is fabulous, 5 minute walk to the rocks, opera house , Sydney ferry terminal and about 7 minute walk to the shops of Westfield and Pitt street mall..

I loved everything about this property and my stay, from the beginning like getting out of our car and upto our room, everything was seamless and easy, staff are friendly and professional and most importantly they’re approachable. Every aspect of the hotel is deliciously clean and cosy. Breakfast was 11/10. The staff around this hotel is what makes this place as good as it is, I would highly recommend a stay at Capella just for the amazing experience. I’m for sure coming back again.

The best feature of the hotel was the quality of service - impeccable. Our room was very comfortable and practical. The guest lounge was very useful and well managed. Breakfast service was excellent; the food selection was very good; it did get a bit busy and full, which made the overall experience good but not great.
In our room, the shower door did not close properly, meaning that the bathmat became quite drenched each time we showered. This meant that the bathroom floor also became a bit wet, which was not what we would have expected from a property such as the Capelka.

Room was lovely. Made special with all the amenities like gifts on the bed, luxurious robes, cake on arrival. Also, it was cleaned and tidied perfectly every day, making sure all bathroom items were topped up. The location was ideal
It was actually difficult to find the hotel, as there's no actual clear hotel name - only small brass plaques. Also the room (even with full lights on) was a bit dark. The main issue with this hotel however is the fact the hotel bar is closed on a Sunday and Monday, and although you can get a drink in the lobby, this also closes at 8:30 - so if you want a drink, you either drink in your room or go elsewhere outside the hotel!

This is an exceptional hotel where the emphasis is on caring for their guests. Every contact we had with the team working at the hotel was outstanding. The room was exceptionally comfortable, clean to a T, and so well equipped. The location is exellent only a short walk to the harbour and the opera house. One of our suitcases had been lost en route from Bordeaux and when it was traced the hotel staff tracked it at Sydney and ensured a timely delivery. Fantastic care and attention. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Do not hesitate to stay here you will love it.

We are in the lighting industry and immediately noticed that some very talented people designed this hotel. There are not many places my husband goes to and he is absolutely happy with the lighting to this degree. Well done. The beds are beyond comfortable and we love the attention to detail. We stayed at this hotel twice and are looking forward to some longer stays to fully enjoy what's on offer. Oh and the spa is amazing, too. I am looking forward to some more treatments there :) The breakfast is absolutely delicious.
Nothing comes to mind at this point.

most things about this hotel are exceptional: the welcoming and friendly reception team, the seamless and impeccable housekeeping, the beautiful blend of old and new architecture, the spectacular lobby and pool area, the (quiet) luxury rooms and the central location. the breakfast felt like a special treat everyday, with high-quality buffet options and à la carte dishes. we would go back anytime!
the beds were too soft for our taste (the proposed removal of the topper helped a lot). also, given its location in the CBD, the hotel restaurant and bar were very (too) quiet in the later evening and on weekends.
