One of the best locations to stay in the New Forest. Very comfortable indeed. Yummy breakfast. Staff attentive and friendly. There is a really convenient railway station close by should you want a day without the car. The sirloin beef we had on Sunday evening I've never tasted better. Also the simple beef burger was delicious. Our room was spacious with a bath which was lovely to have at the end of a weary day. Sitting in the garden with a drink in the sun was relaxing. Loads of horses and animals grazing. Idyllic setting. Amazing view. The swimming is very small but ok for a 20 dip and I noticed a big hit with the children. All kinds of dogs staying and all appeared to be getting first class treatment. When we are next in the area we would definitely stay again. Constructive points. A coat hook in the bedroom to hang outside coats. Also some biccies would be lovely. Two very very small points.

The hotel was lovely , our room looked clean and modern , like it had just had a revamp, although the view from the window was the roof of the building next door, but i suppose thats just luck of the draw..The staff were super friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a bit disappointing for me was that it was in the middle of nowhere , it was 3 miles to Beaulieu in one direction and about the same to Lyndhurst in the opposite direction. Which isn't a negative in most people's books, I just wanted to have a village on the doorstep to walk to. 3 miles doesn't sound much , but walking cross country using Google maps was a bit trial and error, took us about 2 hours ! But we saw ponies on our walk and we got a taxi back so all good. The Drift pub was next door/ attached to the hotel which was nice, so for one night, it was pretty good.

Very welcoming staff, excellent location. Room service exceptional food in the drift adjacent to the hotel was excellent and very well presented and good value for money. And most of all very accommodating for dogs.

Had a slight issue with housekeeping, which was rectified very promptly and dealt with professionally. Other guests, children running around and knocking on doors outside our room Was exceptionally hot almost like Cairo, but ideal for elderly guest.

Friendly staff, decent pool for a hotel at this price range. Easy parking. Lounge area fairly comfortable. Pop up soft play was great for our two kids ages 1 and 5! Beds were very comfortable. Room sizes good. We had two rooms and the slightly smarter one had a noticeably newer bathroom than the cheaper one, but even in the cheaper room the shower blasted out the hot water nicely enough!

The food for dinner we felt was pretty poor and would recommend going elsewhere. Breakfast was perfectly serviceable, lots to choose from. Would have been nice to have had barista coffee included in the breakfast: £3.80 extra seemed a bit steep!

This was the second time we have stayed here again and will definitely be back. Lovely location, excellent facilities - indoor swimming pool, restaurant serving food all day, and the additional ‘Bounce’ activity for kids during half term was very much appreciated. Nice touches like bottled water in the room, and coming in to the lounge with a warm fireplace on a cold day was very welcoming. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable with everything we needed. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The only issue was we could hear quite a loud rumble sound until around midnight (this may have been from the pool below?)

Hotel was conveniently located for the purpose of the stay, with a good outlook across the Forest (albeit limited from the room). The room itself was adequate for a short stay. Reception was efficient and engaging giving a sense of being welcomed. Hotel was quiet. Pleased with the provision of bottled water every day.

A mediocre fan was the only means provided to combat a heat retaining room. Meals were provided in the adjoining building within the complex, but via external access, so good job it wasn't raining. Service here was not as good as in the hotel.

I love this place, it’s in a perfect position for walking, caters perfectly for your dog, even though I don’t have one, I noticed the facilities & thought how wonderful. We stayed so we were near to the National Motor Museum which was a brilliant day. The food was filling but so tasty! Nice varied choice. Staff couldn’t do enough for you! Will come visit soon. Thank you for a lovely stay again.

I would prefer to stay in the main building as it’s got a lot of character, which my daughter prefers. The garden rooms are very modern, perfect for the summer, with the gardens & play area for younger children. But definitely will quote for the main area next time.

It was wonderful. I last stayed there about 25 years ago. The location is excellent but the best thing of all is the staff service is fantastic. In many places you have to wait for ages for someone to notice you. Here, the breakfast service in particular was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The room was wonderfully comfortable.

Service charge on the evening meal was irritating and rather high, I thought. I would have given a bigger and better tip had I been allowed to. Car park lights far too bright and surely unnecessary in this lovely place.

Beautiful location, staff always friendly and helpful, breakfast choice good . Lounges kept lovely and welcoming.

Stairways could be kept better, I.e hoovered , rooms need a bit of tlc, just a lick of paint here and there . The evening menu in the Drift pub seriously needs amending , virtually all burgers apart from steak or fish and chips!!!! Can’t imagine older people eating burgers , and specials is a constant steak and ale pie which isn’t even home made !! If keeping costs down pasta dishes, jacket potatoes, sausage and mash all easy and cheap . Staff seem to where many hats they pop up in all different locations including reception, bars and waiting on tables , although they do an amazing job fair play to them .

Quality of restaurant food - 10/10. Staff and management - 10/10 (Faye - sorry don't know how to spell the name - was extraordinary helpful and welcoming, rare place has staff like that, it's a game changer). Very nice room, well decorated, comfortable, good size, very tidy and clean. Oh and the location! oMG. And I am a proper Karen, seriously, I am super selective and fussy guest. But oh my what a beautiful location, horses, bunnies, donkeys... Exceptionally beautiful there.

So it's a little loud. I get it, older buildings are difficult to soundproof, but I felt as if I watched TV together with the next door room guests. Earplugs/headphones sorted it for me so not a biggie. I might have just been tired. And my room was pretty much above/infront the kitchen so fans and all that... But it got quiet before midnight.
