Excellent Hotel, excellent location on the lake with its own Beach and Boat-dock. We stayed there in Sept. 2017 and again in August 2023. The Hotel is very large, and it accommodates mostly tourists and tour-groups. It can be considered a 4-star quality hotel for its furnishings and services.

The Staff at the restaurant are all very friendly and speak English, but we rate the restaurant a little below 4-stars because the service is not to standard, a little unorganized, which mostly points towards a lack of exacting and demanding managerial skill. Furthermore, the dishes are high in price and rather sparing in portions - giving the impression that "design" of "nouvelle cuisine" is back in vogue in the kitchen.

The scenery, the quality and the location are unmatched. Everything works, including perfect room temperatures. The food is excellent. We had a suite on the 5th.

Just one thing you have to be aware of. Not all personnel are top educated in the details. For instance, there is perfect wifi but only when you login to the conference part. There is automatic access to the gym, but only when activated. Superior rooms get reserved spots on the beach. When it’s not told, you have to figure these things out. Train all your staff a bit better and the 10 should be yours.

Location next to the lake, luxurious feeling of the room and beautiful hotel, huge room and bathroom, comfortable bed. I really liked the pool pool, beach, beautiful garden, and the bar at the beach. The breakfast had huge variety and was delicious. We tried the restaurant for dinner, it was really good and the view to the lake was amazing. We also got an upgrade to a room with lake view, we were very happy about it.

The breakfast was quite expensive. Can’t go into the lake from the beach But otherwise really everything was amazing!

Great location at Lago Maggiore. Booked the suite (YOLO). Facilities are having a very fancy feel. The service is good, though they could get more staff to the bar. The beach is great, clean and has enough chairs. With the suite came a reserved place at the beach. Restaurant is great. The hotel organised a private boat trip to Isola Superiore (at additional pay), with pickup from the beach. Really a wonderful stay. The room was equipped with all facilities you'd expect, but still has this "old style" feel. View from balcony over Lago Maggiore is stunning.

Staff in the bar was slow, as there was one person taking care of everything. That should be improved.

The hotel was beautiful, and we had a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable, rooms cleaned well daily, bar and lounges were very nice. Staff was helpful. The best surprise was the second beach off to the side where the dog can join!

The parking was a bit expensive and confusing, namely the electric car charging. It was also full one night when we came back after an early dinner, but the staff helped us get sorted.

The Hotel Splendid is one of the very best hotels I have stayed at anywhere, and this was the third time that our family had visited in the past 10 years. The location is stunning and the rooms and breakfast looking over the lake are amazing. Swimming is excellent from a great pontoon, or from the beach or in the pool if preferred. The staff at Reception were fantastic throughout the whole of our stay and incredibly helpful, assisting us in finding medical help for my daughter late on a Saturday evening. They also very kindly provided us with a wheelchair for my elderly mother over the week at no charge. This transformed our trip, since all the wonderful cafés and restaurants in Baveno and the ferry station for an enchanting boat trip to Stresa were then all within reach, via a 15 minute stroll through the Villa Fedora Park and along Via Pavia (Pavia Street).

No irons available! They say it is a safety issue. I have never heard of this before anywhere in the world. No water refresh daily- you need to refill your old bottles which is a pain a few days into your trip. Bring your own Yeti or Swell Parking is onsite yet they make you pay every time you leave the property with an automated machine and credit card. Really inconvenient and simply charging the room per day would allow you to easily leave and explore and come back several times if you wanted.

The room was awesome, we received an upgrade to the Lake view upon arrival and I was very happy. The hotel is awesome with a great Italian chic interior. The personnel is super friendly and helpful. There is everything you need I will gladly come back to this one!

We were considering having breakfast, we checked the variety of food and were not impressed by it (it also cost 25 pp). Nevertheless, it is not a big deal, as, in 10 min by foot, you can find several cafes and restaurants.

Lovely hotel, great location on the lake. Fantastic staff; friendly, helpful and always ready to help. Decor great, restaurant and bar wonderful locations and views and very attentive staff. Cuisine very good.

There is nothing to not like about this hotel. Clean, super friendly. If you really wanted to find something to grumble about then if you like running then you must run on public roads which do not always have pavement for pedestrians.

Hotel Splendid is aptly named. A hotel full of old world charm and attentive staff that will ensure you have a pleasant stay. I was on a road trip travelling with friends and its location, reputation and the fact that it has secure underground car parking available was a deciding factor in its selection. Others have complained about the €19 extra charge for the car parking but it wasn't unexpected and it gave me peace of mind and a good night's sleep knowing my car was safe. Check in staff were warm and welcoming and the hotel itself exudes an old world charm. Hotel Splendid is one of the very few hotels in Baveno that is on the shore of Lake Maggiore with it's own private beach and dock for boats. The terrace outside is a perfect location to sit and have a drink whilst watching the world go by. The bedroom furnishings are in keeping with the grandeur of days gone by adding to the overall ambience of the hotel. The bedroom was large, well appointed and spotlessly clean - with temperatures outside hitting 34c during the day and 25c at night efficient air-conditioning was very welcome. Breakfast was very good - a self serve buffet with a big selection of meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit, pastries, cake and cereals. I especially liked the fresh honeycomb which is not often seen these day's. Evening meals and wines were superb with a varied selection on offer. Everything was cooked to perfection and served by attentive waiters and waitresses. Wanting to explore the palaces on nearby islands we took the hotels advice and booked a private water taxi. For €100 the water taxi picked us up at the hotel and transported 6 of us to the three islands we wanted to visit - dropping us off and returning to pick us up when we made the phone call. The skipper also made a good recommendation on where to take lunch on 'the restaurant island'. That the Hotel Splendid is only rated as a 4* hotel is a surprise - for me it deserves a 5* rating.
