We arrived late on a foggy evening and it was wonderful to be greeted in a cheerful and welcoming manner by the very kind woman at reception who appeared to be expecting us. She then arranged for a kettle to be sent up to our room so we could make a cup of tea. It was a great start to a very pleasant short stay at the end of a six week trip. The room was spacious, clean and well designed with plenty of storage space. The bed was comfortable with very nice bedding. The bathroom had nice quality towels and toiletries and the shower was very good. Everything worked perfectly. The next morning we had no problem arranging an extension of our stay to 6pm, and the staff even serviced our room for us. The location is excellent, very close to Isator and the SBahn so it is easy to get to the airport or to travel around the city. It is only a very short walk to Marienplatz for shopping and sight seeing. There are plenty of options close by for cafe style or restaurant dining. Despite being on a busy street the hotel was very quiet.

The hotel is in a perfect location for seeing the major sites in Munich. There is lots of good shopping around the hotel too. The best part about staying at the hotel is is the staff. They are very friendly (especially Paul) the new reception desk host. The breakfast is wonderful as well .

Fantastic location in the old town, walking distance to lots of the main sights and right next to an S-Bahn station. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The restaurant recommendations they gave us were great. The room itself had a lovely outlook and was reasonably spacious. The bathroom was lovely with a fantastic shower. We enjoyed the generous breakfast each morning. Highly recommend Hotel Torbäu for your stay in Munich.

The location of Torbrau was amazing - just inside the Tor, about four blocks from the Deutschemuseum and a similar distance, if not closer, to the Marianplatz. A Metro station was literally across the street. We had a junior suite, and it was...mmm..."old fashioned elegance" I think is the best way to describe it. Also, I can't speak highly enough about the staff. Always polite and friendly, very helpful, and just pleasant. We were in Germany/Switzerland for 2.5 weeks and this was our last stay - best hotel during the entire trip. I can't say enough.

I know it's been a trend in German hotels over the last 10 years or so but I was disappointed to have to pay for breakfast. I also thought that given the elegance of the suite, the shower insert was questionable. On the other hand, the separate tub more than made up for it.

Really nice hotel at a 5 minutes walk distance from Marienplatz and close to all main attractions. The staff was very polite during our whole stay. The parking consists of reserved/private spots in the street next to the hotel, so was pretty handy. Finally, we liked staying in a hotel with its own history, as it was originally founded some centuries ago.

Hotel Torbrau was in an ideal location with easy walking to the Marienplatz Square. Our room was quiet, bed was comfortable and the room very clean with a free bar which was appreciated after a long flight. Breakfast buffet had a very nice selection. The staff very attentive and friendly. One lady in particular was absolutely lovely. We had a very nice chat at breakfast I am sorry I do not recall her name she made our mornings very enjoyable.

May have been a misunderstanding on our part but we weren't aware of the restaurant next door. However we did have dinner there the last night and it was wonderful.

My son and I recently stayed at Hotel Torbräu, and we had a fantastic experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean and quiet, making for a very comfortable stay. The reception staff was friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any questions. What truly stood out was the restaurant staff at breakfast—they were absolutely exceptional, providing attentive and warm service that made our meals even more enjoyable. The hotel’s location was also a major plus, with easy access to Munich’s main attractions and public transportation. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Munich!

The hotel was in a perfect location, close to the Christmas markets, restaurants, and train station. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. I especially appreciated the daily snack cookies and hot drinks available in the lobby at night. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and well-stocked with snacks, drinks in the fridge, and hot beverage options. The rooms were very comfortable, with an outdated charm that added to the old Germany ambiance. The American breakfast offered plenty of options for a light meal, though I would have appreciated a different variety from day to day and the choice of fresh egg options. The breakfast staff, however, couldn’t have been nicer and they worked very hard every day.

Hotel Torbrau is in a great location, very close to the Marienplatz but far enough away to avoid the hustle and noise. The rooms were fine and had the essentials. A/C is definitely a plus. And the shower, although not big, had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast team was terrific.

I have to admit I had higher expectations given the 4-star rating and price of the rooms. So I was a little disappointed. Also, breakfast was fine but in my view not quite up to par versus other hotel breakfasts in Munich, of which I've had many. So if you're looking for pure comfort and pampering you may leave unfulfilled.
