The resort itself is so beautiful and the outdoor dining/view was amazing! We chose it because we were travelling with a toddler and wanted space while we chilled for him to be able to run around without impacting other guests and it was perfect for this. The beach was also amazing, just a step away for nice long walks. The room was amazing and was lovely inside, with new furnishings and a comfy bed. Unfortunately, due to weather, we could not use the pool area.

The front desk staff member on duty was a little unfriendly, and upon checkin rather than telling me what was going on, just disappeared, when they gave other guests the keys to our room. Luckily someone else came to ask if I had been assisted and she told me what was happening. The food was subpar and did not meet the expectations that the lodges look and feel delivered. We only had one dinner here as a result.

Location of this property is excellent, it is almost on the beach. The resort is quiet and relaxing, pool was very nice. Beach is great for doing long walks you can ride a bike on the sand it’s so hard. Good restaurants just a short walk from the resort. The room was dated, bed was excellent. The balcony on the top floor is excellent lots of room and nice relaxing chairs to sit in with a fantastic view of the ocean. Staff were very friendly. Massage lady did great relaxing massages would highly recommend her I can’t remember her name.

I loved our stay. The location, atmosphere and proximity to the beach, pub and takeaway food made it a car free stay. The grounds are perfectly manicured and the common areas neat and clean. The staff were accommodating and cheerful. Heaps of parking and if you have a caravan or boat, plenty of room on the street outside. The beach had the swim nets out and the access was simple. The pool area was great. I noted a few reviews where people complained of leaves in the pool, but if anyone who owns a pool near trees would agree this is a normal aspect of pool ownership. So leaves in a pool are not that much of a big deal people. The hotel also provides larger bins outside the rooms for rubbish/recycling. The rooms were a great size and the facilities were ample. Fridge, kettle, milk, coffee and tea provided. The beds were very very comfortable, and the room exceptionally clean. I couldn't imagine the workload the cleaners would have with how easy it is to bring sand back to the room from the beach. I read many reviews about how outdated the rooms were and how a revamp was in need. I would agree if the room was $500 a night but not for $200 a night. What some people may not understand is that furniture in the tropics has to go through months with extreme humidity and heat which absolutely destroys wooden furniture and decor. Add salt air to the mix and it's a never ending battle. What I saw in the room was not outdated but just premature wear and tear from the elements, certainly nothing that would stop me from coming back. Great value for money.

Everything was great. Carpark filled up quickly on a Saturday night, so get in early.

I loved everything about this place. It was so peaceful, and what a view. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are very polite, especially the young lady on the reception. The price was really cheap for such a lovely place.

The only thing I kind of didn't like was the food. I think they try to overdo some things like the kids' menu. A simple kids' hotdog turned out to be a bun loaded with coleslaw and a pork sausage cut in half on the top. I think just a bun with a hotdog sausage and tomato sauce without the coleslaw would have been perfect for a kid. But otherwise, some kids might like that.

Great location with beach access. Very good staff. Accommodating and friendly.

Yes the accommodation does show signs of aging. Remember though it’s absolute beachfront so an extremely harsh environment so it’s not perfect. Overall however a lovely break. Only downside which has nothing to do with the resort itself is fellow guests who slam doors when leaving and decide it’s ok to talk at yelling volume to each other outside your room. Or decided to rearrange furniture in the room above in the early hours of the morning. But that is entitled rude guests not the resort.

Great location right on the beach. Lovely pool right next to the bar and restaurant area. The pool, restaurant and bar area were well thought out with comfortable chairs, floating pool chairs and overlooking the well maintained garden area.

The rooms were dated and in need of renovation. The bed and pillows were un comfortable and needed replacing. This took away from the enjoyment and the rest of the resort which was excellent. I would definitely be back if it weren’t for the rooms. The staff were helpful although seemed very understaffed which seemed to result in errors with our food orders.

Location is beautiful. Our balcony had views of the beach (50 m away).

We had a loft suite with the bedroom and ensuite upstairs and the living areas and 2nd bathroom downstairs. Unfortunately our ensuite shower leaked into the downstairs shower which had obviously tried to be temporarily patched up prior to our arrival. This was quite inconvenient and when I reported it, I was told there would be a maintenance person coming to have a look that day. I never had any feedback as to what actually had transpired. I had to go back to reception and enquire as to what the prognosis was, which was it has to be investigated more, so to continue using the downstairs bathroom. We were not offered any apology or compensation for the inconvenience caused over our 3 night stay.

Wonderful location and hotel facilities including pool, bar and restaurant. Great views from our balcony. Beds were very comfortable.

The property accomodation was pretty dated and condition poor in some locations (cupboards peeling, stained/dirty skirtings, outdoor furniture in fair to poor condition. Very basic coffee and tea facilities in the room. We requested a late check out which wasn't available however the administration staff weren't overly welcoming or friendly like I had come to expect from many other places.

The location on the beachfront is excellent, with nice views of the sea. Castaways is in easy walking distance of shops, cafes and places to eat. My request for a room away from the pool was fulfilled.

I understand that the rooms are undergoing renovation and I did request a 'newish' room, but did not get one. Our room on the ground floor at the northern of the resort looked 'tired' and in dire need of refurbishment. Getting into the shower over the bath tub is awkward and not very safe. The room is more 'motel' style than resort. Value for money hard to justify

We have stayed here a few times and love it. Beachfront room point had a lovely view and two huge beds. It was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the restaurant and were pleased that the menu had returned to normal la carte after a previous experience of set price share plates only. Good food and service although we had to order everything at the bar and pay as you go. Surely it’s not too hard to take a credit card at the start and run a tab. Beautiful location and beach walking experiences.
