The hotel has a great location, it is very close to the city centre and some of it's major sights. It also has good connections, lying between 2 major metro stations. So I was able to do most sightseeing on foot (except for the Shanghai Tower but that is easily accessible with the metro). Hotel rooms are very nice, beds are large and very comfortable

The staff with rare exceptions barely speaks or understands English which makes it a bit difficult to arrange or ask things. The breakfast is ok but the service personnel kind of lacks enthusiasm, if I can put it like that

Overall, the place is clean starting from the front stairs, the lobby, the elevator, the hallway, and the room. Front desk staff can communicate in English. The location is not bad, about 500 m. from Laoximen subway station and about 280 m. from bus stop. Breakfast is not fancy but still OK for me. Apart from buffet, you can order noodles or dumplings with soup. View from the room (14th floor) is also nice no other building block the view.

Walking 500 m. from subway station with luggages is not too far but is also not fun thing to do. House keeper did not do their job well enough. I found small pieces of snack on the floor just beside the bed and they are still there 4 days until I checked out.

Breakfast was nice, European food (omelet, fried eggs, beacon, toasts) and Chinese cuisine (soup with wontons or noodles). The room is spacious. Hotel located between two subway stations, very convenient (less then 10min walk), quiet area around, plus Xiantiandi street just 15 min walk away through picturesque park

Slow wifi, and please keep in mind that there is a little weird system about the usage of hot water in the shower (15min use and then kinda barely warm water for 30 min, then again hot)

The hotel is really well situated; 20 minutes walk to Yu Garden ; 10 minutes to Xintiandi area; it is really close from 2 subway lines with good connections to other touristic places in Shanghai. For us it was ideal located. It is a bit outdated ( furniture, the carpet) , however , the room was clean, and cleaning was made daily. The room was spacious and overall we had a really comfortable stay. A FamilyMart is at about 5 minutes walk; also, at 2 minutes walk there are 2 local supermarkets with drinks and snacks. It was a really good value for the price we payed considering the location. It's not that well isolated; we were lucky to have quiet neighbors, however still we could hear noise from the hallway.

Position is great. In the former French Concession, close to People Square, Yuyuan garden and Nanjing road. Metro station is also quite close. The room was big and confortable with a nice view on both old Shanghai and Pudong skyscrapers. The breakfast was rich with a lot of variety, both salty and sweet. They made customized Omelette in front of your eyes.

The staff is a bit weak in English. The wifi is free, but slow The breakfast is really rich, but the quality if food is medium/low. Fruit juice contains a lot of water. Most products were frozen

Spacious room despite having a big 2.2m wide bed inside. Our room was facing Shanghai Tower and we were delighted by the light-up every evening. Front counter staff, cleaning and technical teams are efficient and dedicated to their job. They responded quickly to our requests to ensure that we have a pleasant stay at the hotel.👍 Though the hotel is a 5 mins walk from Laoxinmen metro (Exit 1), it is a quiet haven from the busy bust of the city. We will consider staying in Magnificent Int'l Hotel when we visit Shanghai again. ✌️

Some irresponsible guests smoke along the corridor. We felt helpless and could only get into our room quickly.

Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Housekeeping is also friendly. Location is actually quite good due to LaoXiMen metro station, an easy walk, stated 750m by hotel. Although beside building there is nothing, McDonald is located at LaoXimen metro entrance. Main attractions I visited is very near: Yu Garden (1 stop), People's Square (2 stops), Nanjing Road (E) to go to The Bund (2 stops). Shanghai Railway Station (5 stops), probably faster than DiDi due to many traffic stops and some congestion to reach. There is new development opposite the hotel which would make this place even better.

Building is not carpeted. During winter even inside the lobby can feel cold as there is no heater. I also sense that the staff working at front desk are trying to bear the coldness. If you are ok with coldness then this should not be even an issue.

The room is very spacious, so if you have a big luggage, the choice is perfect. Also, location is quite central, easy to get around. The staff is friendly and speaks English well.

There was quite a large gap between the door and the floor, which unfortunately let in a lot of noise from the hallway. In the morning, I could hear everything happening outside the room, including some unpleasant throat-clearing sounds from other guests.. This is of course, not the hotels' fault, but the doors could be updated.

For the price we paid we have nothing to complain. Yes, the facilities are a bit outdated but, everything worked and the rooms are spacious and our room on the 10th floor had a stunning view with skyscrapers. The huge windows in every room make up for everything, really:) TV, shower, air conditioning (at 37 degrees Celsius outside) - all worked well. Bedding was also comfortable. A Family Mart s about 5 min walk away, so is the nearest metro station. Didn’t try the wifi, didn’t need to so can’t say anything about that. Staff was helpful enough with no issues. But please note: there is a deposit of 200 Yuan that we had to pay in cash (card would be also possible) and collect upon check out (we paid 200 Yuan for 2 rooms, I am not sure if for one it would be 100..)

My room didn’t have a safe and the safe in my sister’s room was there but the lock didn’t work. And the carpet - although it looked pretty clean to me - my baby’s feet were very dirty after running around the room. But there are slippers provided for the adults so this shouldn’t be a problem😅

Very nice and responsive staff (helped with directions to a nearby bank and post office, called me a taxi to the airport, etc.), a spacious room with a nice view, a good location (right in the middle of the main Shanghai sights, and close to two metro stations), and a sufficiently decent breakfast (including an always freshly made "to order" omellete) all make this hotel a solid value for money.

The internet connection was sometimes a bit unstable and/or slow, and the breakfast tended to be quite depleted if one came a bit later.
