The place the room was fabulous 👌

My room being locked at 11.20 while I went for breakfast, at 10.55, then be told that we had to check out that's why it was locked, even tho check out wasn't until 12.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The gym is well-equipped but could do with a little heating at this time of year, especially in the early morning.

The breakfast could be better. The scrambled egg is rubbery and the fried eggs are slimy (sorry to have to say). Perhaps add boiled eggs to the selection? And add options for people who prefer to avoid carbohydrates at breakfast, such as cold meats (in addition to the smoked salmon).

Located outside Castlebar on its own land so quite seculded but plenty to do from the well appointed leisure centre & spa to the marked walking routes (2km to 5km). Rooms were spacious & very clean. Beds comfortable. Overall an excellent friendly hotel. If you just want some rest & relaxation this is the place.

My only complaint would be menu in the bar is quite boring. Typical bar menu, burgers, pizza, steaks etc.would have expected something a little different from such a good hotel. Surprised no vegan options or just a little more imagination. There is of course the very grand Mulberry restaurant onsite which we didn't go to, bit too formal for us this time round. Having said all that, the two nights we ate in the bar the food we got was delicious. So it is a minor complaint.

We stayed for a family function, other family living in the area. I’ve stayed a many hotels worldwide and this ranks up among the best of them, their staff being the best. Mairead you are a superstar! What a beautiful setting, absolutely stunning views both inside and out. Magnificent food, all of our party agreed-as did our local family members. The afternoon tea was absolutely superb. We all loved the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. My husband tried out the gym, which he said was good, but none of us had any time for spa treatments. For those who felt their rooms were too warm-all you need to do is open the windows and the temperature is perfect. I cannot say enough good about the staff-they really make the place the best. Every staff member we interacted with was most friendly, welcoming and helpful. We will be back!

I honestly say we loved everything but leaving!

We had a lovely stay at this hotel during our trip to Mayo! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home from the start. Our room was spotless and the beds were super comfortable—exactly what we needed after a long day of exploring. The leisure centre was a great bonus too—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a bit of relaxation. The only downside for us was the food at the bar. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet our expectations—bland and lacking in flavour, which was a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, but we’d probably skip the bar food next time.

Safe , hospitably top class from every dept . Mairead duty manager - so so helpful , Adrian also very chatty and breakfast so plenty full and food to suit everyone ( we even stayed with a child with eating disorder) the variety and selection for breakfast meant it suited everyone . We are a large family and finding one room for all of us was a blessing in disguise. Beds for so comfy , spacious rooms, leisure staff very friendly and so were accommodation, front desk have great knowledge and teamwork is evident throughout the resort .the food in the bar was delicious and everyone had something to eat different so suited all Ages. The grounds of the hotel so vast I hope to go back again to explore more. It prob the on my place I’ve stayed as a carer that I’ve felt relaxed.

We're just home from a fabulous Easter weekend in Breaffy House. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel staff. They created such a fabulous family weekend - such attention was given to all the kids with wonderful activities and multiple visits from the Easter Bunny! The room was so spacious for a family of 5 and my kids loved the bunk beds. The grounds and playground were a big hit. We barely left the hotel due to all the activities and the pool. The food in the bar was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed a divine lunch on Easter Sunday in the restaurant which included another visit from the Easter Bunny. We were thrilled. Thank you so much to all the staff

All in all a fabulous stay - I treated my wife to a mothers day break with the family and we really enjoyed it. The hotel itself just oozes class and you could not help but be impressed by the architecture on the outside. The setup for kids is excellent with trails, crazy golf, a playground all there for them so no one was ever bored. I must also mention that the food was excellent and reasonably priced, staff were fab too - very friendly and polite. We didn't try the pool or Spa treatments so I cant comment on them.

I have only 2 complaints really - the room was much too warm even with the radiator turned off - we stayed in March so I cant imagine staying there in summer heat, the room could really do with air conditioning to control the temperature. Secondly €7.30 for a pint of Carlsberg! C'mon folks that is extortionate, all alcoholic drinks are excessively priced. However as mentioned above the food was reasonably priced. Oh and don't order the Pepperoni pizza, they use some sort of cheese filler on it instead of proper mozerella, looks great but tastes like melted Calvita on the pizza.

Breakfast was plentiful, freshly prepared and a lot of options. All serving staff were friendly and pleasant, and often anticipated needs. Room was a good size for a family of 4 and pool and grounds were a great bonus.

The room was very hot, and often airless. I understand there is no air con and have no issue with that as its not necessary, but TVR on the radiator to be able to turn it off (especially overnight) would have been good. Alternatively maybe turning down the thermostat for all the heating by a couple of degrees would be better for the comfort of guests and the energy efficiency of the hotel.

This was our first time staying in the Breaffy House hotel and I can’t speak highly enough of this place. On our arrival we were greeted with such well mannered and respectful staff that catered to our every need in a matter on minutes. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service by the staff in the bar was excellent. We booked the Moet suite and we were blown away by the room. The cleanliness, the layout, the bathroom and bed were just top tier. In the words of my girlfriend “this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in”. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay best it could be.
