Location, staff was pleasant and helpful, nice size fridge, microwave. It is obvious that this facility has been in Fairbanks for many years....so if u r looking for a Comfort Inn or Hyatt...not your place..but if u just need a room and prefer extra $$ for vacationing..this will fit the bill.

200 sq ft. room is definitely small. The a/c is a portable floor unit so it takes extra space. I thought the mattress needed to be replaced....spouse was happy with it but we have a weight difference so the mattress sunk in the middle. Bathroom is needing a refresher as well

We ended up encountering multiple staff at the inn. Everyone was kind, attended to everyone of our needs and gave us valuable information on things we needed. We also met the owner who took time from his busy schedule to interact and get details from us. We were always treated with utmost respect and care. We would very much like to come back and stay at this place. Wonderful location, close to airport, supermarkets and restaurants. They provide free shuttle to and from airport. Fully stacked breakfast counter with 24 hr coffee and hot chocolate. If you wish to support a locally owned business, this is the place to be. And yes we saw the northern lights from our room.

Nothing, everything was above and beyond.

The place was clean, the bed was very comfortable! The staff was wonderful.

It is an old building. 1) It had a smell. But I would not want some stinky perfume to mask it! I kept the nice clean smelling sheets over my face. There was no hair dryer for those that need one. 2) there wasn’t an extra lock to go across the frame 3) the TP was cheap and rough 4) the room size is Tiny. Good thing I was alone. 5) it would be really cold in winter. It was about 2:30 am so I didn’t bother calling front desk when I couldn’t figure out the thermostat. It didn’t have clear directions or numbers etc 6) those old style pop in ceiling rectangles were stained in some places and it was weird that one big section showed the floor joists from upstairs floor.

The inn is located in a very quiet dead end street near the freeway. A very small park is across the street to carry your breakfast. Breakfast was impressive- bagels, boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt, fruits … coffee. Staff (Morgan & kid in cowboy hat) were attentive and gave recommendations to what we were interested in. Our pickup from the airport at 12:30 am was smooth & so was our check in. Thank you Morgan - our list is almost completed.

The room was quite small but the bathroom was roomy. Unfortunately, staying around the inn was short.

The hotel is close to the airport. The staff were very kind and personable. They kept our luggage for us after checking out until we were ready to go to the airport. They gave us free bottles of water and packets of hot chocolate to take with us when we wanted to go see the northern lights because the water at the place we planned to go to did not have good water. They included a good continental breakfast with our stay. The room was small, but clean. The hotel is old and dated, but kept up and the bed was comfortable.

Being small rooms, we had to work around to fit our belongs in it, but we made it work. The positive things definitely outweigh the bad about this Fairbanks hotel near the airport.

Overall a good accomodation in Fairbanks. We were there over thanksgiving and the staff handed out lists with restaurants which were open that day. Also they handed out apple/ pumpkin pie and chocolate cookies, they were very good.

This building shouldn’t have two floors. We had barely no sleep during one night as the people in the room above us decided to stay up and walk around the whole night. You can hear it super loud and we woke up from it. Toilet flush and shower in the room above is also terribly loud. We were told the room above us will be vacant the next night, but it wasn’t… other people and not loud all night bit still annoying. Room was more on the smaller side. The breakfast is more like some packed stuff and hot water you can get yourself at the reception.

For a 2 star hotel this place is great. The owner and staff are super friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Excellent communication and the breakfast was surprisingly good vs what I was expecting. Shuttle is super helpful and goes to either the main terminal at the airport or the smaller flights going north. Highly recommend this place for an inexpensive, close to the airport, no frills but super friendly place to lay your head for a night.

The hotel Staff were very helpful and friendly. The free shuttle to and from the airport was a huge plus. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and snacks at the lobby! Fred Meyer's is within walking distance from the hotel, which made getting food and supplies very convenient. Thank you Golden North Inn for a wonderful stay!

The room is a little dated, but that didn't bother us much. What did bother us was the loud footsteps and banging noise from the room above. There was also some construction going on during the day, which the front desk apologized for. They were getting a laundry room upgrade, which I guess is understandable.

The staff at the reception were extremely helpful, cordial and available for every request. One of them came to my room to show me the heater working. Another gave me her charger to charge my foreign phone which did not work on my charger. There were enough items for a healthy breakfast.

Nothing in particular that can be complained about, but I missed the hair dryer on the bitter cold climate .

When we arrived, the receptionist told us we were getting a room upgrade free of charge. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was also included. It was the first hotel we stayed at that had fresh fruit (bananas, oranges, and apples)! The location was close to the airport, but it was quiet.

There was no elevator to the second floor.
