Returning costumers - we stayed there already in 2024. Perfect location, walking distance (5 minutes) to the gorgeous little church. There are plenty of restaurants near by to dine in or take-away. Good breakfast selection at Jack Rabbits - 10% discount when you stay at the Godley Hotel.

My recommendation would be to book a room overlooking the lake, as the regular rooms are very average, dated, and noisy. In 2024 we booked some rooms looking directly over the lake & the Church of the Good Shepard - very happy with our choose and good rooms. We decided to return this year and ended up on the ground floor in the carpark over looking the road - much smaller rooms, dated, no view and noisy.

It’s a nice room with a nice bathroom. I guess superior and lake view are open for interpretation.

You have to stand on the walkway to look over a solid metal railing to look over a building at the lake. Checkin was a bit busy. There was a lovely lady doing it on her own and answering the phone whilst some guy just sat there looking at his documents or using his computer. Poor form. You pay a reasonable amount but there are no facilities. Even the cafe closed at 2.30pm and the bar doesn’t open later either.

Room was next door to shops and very close to lake. Room was clean and tidy, good hot water supply and pressure. Good free wifi and comfy beds

Room is pretty close to the highway and doesn't have very good acoustic insulation so we could hear neigbours and traffic quite loudly. Also, despite having a kettle and fridge there is no toaster nor washing facilities so couldn't prepare a good breakfast that early before we had to leave

The room had everything you needed and plenty of room. The beds were cozy and the linens all clean. There was no problem with checking in or out and the staff were really kind with all our questions and needs. Laundry on site for guests to use. Washer ($2) and dryer ($4) and they are Huge so one load gets it done. This was a bonus for us! Everything walking distance and lots of parking.

Some bits a bit dated and noise travels despite doors being open to the outdoors. Luckily enough Lake Tekapo is pretty quiet in the evenings!

It was cosy and warm, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and central to shops and eateries, and it is only a stones throw to the Good Shepherd Church. The room had everything we needed.

The only one thing I didn't like was I was offered a room upstairs with a view, but I had heavy bags, and there was no elevator so I had to turn it down and have a room downstairs. That is the only fault I have, everything else was great.

The property was very nice and just next to the lake! It was 4 minutes’ walk to the intercity bus stop and we arrived earlier and the reception staff was very helpful. She helped us store our luggage in the reception, provided us useful information for the restaurant closing time in the town. We had a lovely breakfast in the restaurant Jack Rabbit.

Helpful staff and good value of money!! Thank you for the free upgrade to a Superior room due to the toilet issue, the Superior room which is newly renovated, nice bathroom and comfort beds. The standard room is very out-date and old, if I knew the huge difference, i would have booked the Superior Room. The whole village provides free parking and the hotel is in a perfect location with a swimming pool and an on-site restaurant.

Good location, everything’s walking distance. Right next to the lake. Good views. There’s a handy mirror hanged on the wall if the toilet is used. Got a sitting area outside the room on the first floor with lake and mountain views

Cold water in tap. Not soundproof at all. Dark lighting in room, not enough lights. No slipper, toothbrush, toothpaste btw

We were able to leave our luggage for the day as we arrived too early for check in. The staff were very accommodating. Easy check in process. Our lake view room didn't disappoint either! Woke up to a crystal clear day and picture perfect views from the room. Couldn't wait to go for a walk to the lake and the church.

Bathroom door was very old and badly paint chipped and needs replacing. Broken hooks on the back of the bathroom door.

The location was good. View from our room on the upper floor was very good, looking onto Lake Takepo and the Church is the Good Shepherd. Close to town and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Easy parking outside room.

The balcony was a shared walkway arrangement and as we were right at the end, our view was marred by a brick wall over some of the view. The furniture was a little basic and no bedside table on one side. The swimming pool was off line due to a water issue and the cafe closes at 3pm.
