Location is right near a lovely walk where you get beautiful views of windermere you are also a short walk from a town with bars and restuarants which is lovely in the evenings. Breakfast was great and the staff were excellet they were attentive and were always on hand which was excellet for a 3 star.

Parking for guests is not guarantted as it is also open to public we however did get a spot and had no trouble but if you are driving and staying a couple of days this might become a problem .

Location was good. Plenty of parking. Beds were comfortable. The Bar was good for drinks. We did not eat in the hotel so can’t comment on that. We did not go into the main part of the hotel much as our room had a separate entrance. Overall it was comfortable and for just a base to sleep in was just what we needed.

It was run down and in need of some updating slightly. Bathroom taps falling apart, plugs not attached, marks round bath/sink. If it’s just a bed and somewhere to have a wash and you can look past these things then it’s ok.

Great location.

Staff were very rigid about check in times, requests for cleaning and you had to book breakfast times. It felt too structured and not relaxing for a holiday. The breakfast was quite limited with no fresh fruit and no pastries other than croissants and very cheap bread for toast.

Wasn’t aware you had to pay for parking. Had stipulated mum couldn’t walk well booked because it had a lift, but ended up at the far end of the building and had to go up/down steps. Not ideal with a walker. Was not aware that coach parties took priority which meant you couldn’t book into the restaurant for an evening meal.

It is a novelty to have a single bed which which was great .I like the bathroom facilities and also the fact that there was a lift. The staff on reception a bit shouty and patronising. I regularly stay in hotels - just give me my key - as often I am tired on arrival.

disappointed that on arrival (I arrived at 2 o’clock an hour before checking in time) the only place to eat or drink wasn’t in the hotel itself but a bar attached. A hotel this size should have had a comfortable lounge with comfortable chairs where early arrivals can sit. I wasn’t keen on the bar staff or the entire set up.

The hotel is perfectly located within very short walking distance into town, with a good and safe parking location off the road and fairly priced as well. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room had everything that was required and spacious enough for two, with a working TV and a small functional bathroom. The staff were impeccably dressed, extremely helpful and very pleasant. We only had breakfast so I can only make a comment on that which I found very good. It was cooked perfectly with a wide choice to choose from. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will definitely stay here again.

My one and only minor criticism is the window didn’t open very wide and it was extremely hot weather the weekend we stayed. But that’s the one and only thing.

Single room was clean and had all that was required. It is a few minutes walk into town and opposite the train station.

I stayed because I got a deal through this website, I would not pay the normal prices that I saw. The room was a little small and the bathroom looked a little dated and the toilet was very low and right next to the bath. If you are a larger person, you might struggle. One member of Reception Staff was not helpful or interested when I said I was disabled and I asked about parking in town, this might be a language or cultural difference.

Great location, staff really friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and we were all happy with room and hotel. We only stayed one night and for the price I couldn't complain about anything. Bus stops 2mins away to get to other parts of the lake district and we really enjoyed our stay.

Located very near the local transport network,

No minibar in the room (though we had a safe box), when all you want in summer is to find a bottle of cold water in the room. I would have appreciated if, on the second day, the cleaning staff had come to just take out the empty bottles in the trash can. Nobody did this. I understand the concept of heritage building but not having a window which opens more than 10 cm when you have a view is strange. Anyway, a good experience, after all

Stayed a month ago and wasn't impressed with the state of the room. This was such a better experience! Room 125 is much better than the lower floored corner rooms. -Best location -Great WiFi -Powerful hot shower -Breakfast tasty -Lovely staff member served me breakfast (with my dog so in another room)

-Cobwebs on window -£20 per day dog fee. Should be per stay as extra cleaning fee doesn't matter when you're not getting the room deep-cleaned daily. -TV not automatically connected to internet and you have to change settings for freeview channels to be allowed on TV (never seen this before) -Awful pillows -Doors close quickly. Surprised one of the numerous OAP guests hasn't sued for breaking a toe
