An elegant hotel in a slightly scruffy neighbourhood. We had a lovely welcome at reception and our room was amazing, beautifully decorated, super comfortable and had everything we needed.

The breakfast display looks amazing but the service is shambolic. There’s no information on the hot food you can order, the staff don’t ask you and they often forget who’s ordered what, consistently taking hot drinks to the wrong table. The way the buffet is laid out doesn’t flow so guests have to lean over one another to get to the food. Also no hot plates. One male waiter was really friendly and helpful but the organisation is really poor. Hard to understand how such a lovely hotel get get something so basic so wrong. This is the only reason I haven’t given a 9 rating.

Excellent Hotel. Every Detail is perfect, Design of the room, Decorations, Paintings, Books. Breakfast is delicious. Pool with integrated jacuzzi is warm and beautiful. But the best about the hotel are the people. All Staff is doing a great job, I have never seen such a warm kindness in a Hotel. What an enthusiasm! Hugo gave us a lot of interesting informations about the city, and everyone was very kind and helpful. Individual service at the best. We would definitely choose this Hotel again. I wish many kind guests to all GA H. crew.

The property is absolutely stunning. Excellent location and very central to all amenities. The decor is tasteful and luxurious and a lot of attention of detail went into the level of comfort in the rooms and ambience. Didn’t have dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was delicious and the drinks were excellent. Special mention to Ana, Fabio and Hugo who all went above and beyond to enhance the stay, but the staff in general went above and beyond to welcome everyone and nothing was too much trouble. Well done to the team at GA palace.

The breakfast was beyond amazing!!!!! Fresh fruit, every kind of bread and Portuguese pastry, bacon, eggs, sausages, roasted vegetables, smoked salmon, fresh smoothies, plus you can order omelettes , eggs benedict, many more, lattes, cappuccinos…….unbelievable! Beautiful breakfast room plus outdoor deck with beautiful Italian gardens, pool, spa….really beyond our wildest imagination!!!

This hotel is fantastic, pure luxury in every way. The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and polite. I can’t speak highly enough for how well we were welcomed and cared for in our weeks stay here. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and spotless with very comfortable beds and well decorated. I recommend a suite on the pool side, a bit more money but worth it. The food is amazing, with great options and first class service. The pool and all facilities are excellent. The location is very good, as it’s only a 10 min walk to city centre. What a wonderful hotel.

Really lovely hotel. All the staff were very friendly and polite. They went out of their way to be helpful and to make the stay exceptional. Good location for visiting the Ribeira sights. Breakfast was wonderful. Beds very comfortable. The room was large and very clean. Excellent bathroom.

The team were so friendly and helpful. Facilities were great and well looked after and the room was spacious and d added balcony a bonus

We could have done with some instructions on how to use television (hidden in mirror) and shower (as reception obviously get these questions often)

The GA Palace Hotel is a fabulous place to stay in Porto! It deserves its 5 star rating. Everything was top notch: the friendly, informative, professional staff at reception, the excellent housekeeping staff, the service at the delicious breakfast, the room with every amenity you might need, and the spa with very warm water in the indoor pool. The location just around the corner from Batalha Square worked perfectly for us: we could walk to all of the main attractions in the city, including across the bridge to Gaia. The hotel’s restaurant, Acqua, is excellent and there are several cafes located on the square if you want to eat close by.

What an incredible hotel...simply beautiful. The attention to detail on the design of the interior, the rooms, and the garden and pool area are superb. Breakfast is an amazing experience with the best service and great food. But the most important thing that made our stay feel perfect was the staff of the GA Palace. They are fabulous without any exception. Miguel is a great host whilst leading the team, but the entire team should be proud. A special mention to Romero, the restaurant manager. If you're planning a trip to Porto and want a 5-star experience with the nicest friendliest staff, then look no further than the GA Palace
