The location was perfect. It was a short walk to the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The Shell Beach Inn is located sort of at the end of the strip and was quiet. Earplugs were provided and I thought that was a nice touch and very thoughtful of light sleepers. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were soft, the decor was very nicer than your average room, ice was provided in a tiny ice chest, the towels were big and fluffy. We checked in later in the evening and lighting was sufficient. The host made it a simple check-in via phone.

The room was a bit small, so if there are more than two people in the room it would be a bit crowded. However, it was perfect for just two people. The only thing that could be improved is the shower water pressure and fixtures in the shower. Although, this would not have prevented me from staying at this Inn.

I like the staff. They were nice. I love that we walked in and received a wedding anniversary gift (Wine) to celebrate our love. I am grateful for the 10% of coupons for surrounding restaurants. The bed was soft. The place was clean upon arrival.

I didn't like that the cleaning lady did not make the bed. She did not remove the dirty glasses and provide clean ones. She also did not take all dirty towels from the room. Getting into the room was difficult with using the phone app. We just used the key card because it was a bit frustrating. Could not turn the TV volume up. Seems like they wanted it to stay at a certain volume.

Arrived a little late (1900) & had to phone to obtain instructions to get key. We were in room 2 which had a parking space in front. We were kindly treated by a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our anniversary which was a lovely surprise! The shower was in a step over bath which had plenty of hot water. You could hear traffic noise from the nearby highway but it didn’t keep us awake. (Earplugs were provided) We walked to the bar down the road & had a steak sandwiches which were very good. ( Beware everywhere closes by 9pm) There is no breakfast provided but there was a 10% off voucher provided to a place down the road which was ok. Handy 7-11 nearby. Didn’t use the small on site pool.

The staff was great and helpful. We arrived earlier then check in and the rushed the room so we didn't have to wait for check in time

No one there after 6pm, but have an emergency number if you need it. We need more towels but didn't feel it was an emergency. They do have towels s at the pool do not all bad. No real place to store clothes for two people if you stay more then a day or two

The room was beautiful!

The check-in! I’d given more points but I didn’t like the check-in. We arrived at 6pm and there wasn’t anyone. That’s ok, but they should inform before on email or Booking’s chat the instructions for the self check-in! We had to call with our Italian phone number and this means expensive tariff. Every accommodation usually send the instructions one day or some hours before.

We loved the feel of The Shell Beach Inn; I believe they renovated it in 2009, and they did a great job! It’s cute, comfortable, close to everything Pismo, and a short drive to SLO. They were very friendly & helpful during check-in & check-out; we would stay here again.

No complaints; everything was good.

The room was very clean. It was much bigger than I had expected, and the kitchen was fully stocked like a real kitchen, and the staff was very sweet.

The only drawback is that there’s nobody there after five and it’s a little difficult to get a hold of them if you lose a key which we shouldn’t have done, but sometimes those things happen

The location was great and walkable to a few bars and restaurants. We also enjoyed walking to the beach for sunset just a few blocks away. The hotel is decorated and laid out to feel more like an AirBnb which was a nice homey feel. The bedsheets were so soft!

Very charming, cosy place to stay with a rustic/retro vibe. It’s clear they have thought about your needs and have put a lot of care into making it comfortable and welcoming for guests. A quick walk got us delicious Mexican food at Zorro’s, and the ocean is also easily reached on foot.

It’s located along the 101 where you won’t get a great view and will hear traffic - not a complaint because it was to be expected. They kindly provide ear plugs on your bedside tables should you require.
