The location - right on the water - was beautiful, and the room looked out at the water. The beach was quite rocky but location was near the city beaches that were somewhat better. And it was a short drive to town. The grounds were quite nice. Room was spacious and reasonably well equipped. Proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable. Mellow.

Provided shampoo and soap in plastic tear-open sleeves that were impossible to open with wet hands... would have been better to have fixed pump dispensers in bath/shower. Wifi was a bit slow and room wifi did not work so had to use wifi from another room. Access to parking in the back was very narrow and required great care to avoid hitting car on bushes or building.

It was our first time staying at the Buena Vista. It is waterfront with a nice common patio and access directly onto the lovely beach, where you can swim, or walk. We enjoyed the quietness and relaxed atmosphere. It is truly a get away spot! Everyone we came into contact with were very pleasant and our accommodation was very clean. We will definitely stay here again!

Just a note letting people know that this is an older place, but our suite was extremely neat and clean.

The view of the ocean was spectacular and the grounds/gardens were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and unit was spotless. Bed was really comfortable. Good overall.

The manager/owner(?) was rude when we tried to check in an hour early. He simply said no and to return (which in itself was understandable) but his manner was rude and unfriendly. Was a real turnoff so it’s good that the room was nice otherwise I’d have left.

Buena Vista is a gem. Really comfortable and so well laid out and equipped with good kitchen area and nice size bathroom. The view is wonderful and the grounds at the front are quite lovely with lots of places to sit and watch the sea and mountains beyond on the mainland. It is accessible to a small beach which in the summer must be a great place to laze around, paddle or swim. The manager was super helpful and friendly. It is a small establishment, which makes it all the nicer because there is a good sense of privacy. Great place.

It was very clean and comfortable with kind and happy staff. Met all our needs and then some. Has exceptional view of ocean, and gardens are amazing! There are beautiful lounge areas outside with comfortable chairs to relax in and watch the ocean and all its entertainment. Another benefit is restaurants within walking distance that have awesome food and service!

The small number of suites, private front door entrance for each suite, full kitchen with full size fridge and stove, microwave, dishes/pans/cutlery/cooking utensils, beautiful grounds in the back with direct access to the beach, BBQ and chaise lounges available for use. Pleasant Owner/Property Manager. Even though on the main highway our suite was quiet. Clean suite and comfortable beds. We had a balcony being on the second floor in the back but the front door was ground level - no stairs.

Wow what a great little motel. It was like staying at your nan's place. Exceptionally clean to the point of immaculate, and wow that view! The furniture was old fashioned but in excellent condition. We watched seals playing at the front and an eagle eating a fish. There was also a kitchenette that was well appointed in terms of functionality and appliances. Great value for money.

It was great for location; we loved being able to have beach access. It was also great for families as we had a full kitchen, shared access to a BBQ, and laundry. We have 2 teens and we had ample space. The owner/manager was lovely & helpful. We will be booking a return trip next summer.

I can't really think of anything other than it would be nice to be able to have some boogie or skim boards available for teens.

Quick access to the beach. Beautiful location! Very Quiet. Wifi and had Netflix for evening time. 5 min drive from everything!!

Parking was available but very difficult to park as off very busy highway! Bath mat should be replaced as we didn’t use it, grungy. Recommend replacing with non stick strips for safety.

For some who remember 1950's motels, the photos were somewhat reminiscent of those rooms, partly because of the layout and partly because of the bedspreads. If this was a 1950's motel, it has been beautifully renovated. Everything from the paint to the furniture and the bathrooms looks very new. We were to stay 3 nights in one room and 1 night in another. When we arrived, we were told that we could stay in our original room for 2 nights and in the best room for the other 2. Very nice upgrade!

The resort is right on Highway 19A. However, when we are in the rooms, the noise of passing traffic is not a problem, especially after 8:00 PM. Otherwise, the location on the beach is fabulous.
