the staff were lovely and extremely friendly. having the pub and restaurant downstairs was ideal also with friendly locals. I did talk to a man at the bar who had a lovely dog and he was really nice and made me feel better. the lady in the morning who did breakfast was superb, really friendly and also polite. fantastic service from her.

the only thing we found uncomfortable was the main woman there told us we couldn't sit to look at the menu as the tables were reserved. we wanted to look to decide if staying to eat. we both use walking sticks and felt very awkward with people looking at us in the middle of a crowded room. I decided to not eat and return upstairs. however my friend remained downstairs.

Friendly staff and smooth check in and out Decent room and very clean Good breakfast and for once freshly cooked to order with non of the awful hot items in hot containers and rotary toasters that don’t work. This was a nice change although some people probably like a cold selection of fruit and cereals on display. Very good service as well. I didn’t have evening meal but I wish I had as food looked very good

Room was above bar and very noisy although it went quiet after 10.30 pm. Had to keep curtains closed as room was opposite some houses and privacy was an issue. Some blinds would have been desirable

It was a traditional pub with rooms & lots of parking in the pub car park. The staff were all friendly & helpful & my room was comfy & had everything I needed for my one night stay. I’d only booked the day before to extend my stay in Northumberland & I was pleasantly surprised to find this place for such a reasonable price. The food was excellent - I had the pie & it was delicious with lots of melt in the mouth beef. I saw some guests have the fish & chips which also looked amazing. Breakfast was ordered at the table so cooked fresh & what a lovely surprise to see fried bread on the menu! It’s not offered in many places now but what a treat. It was gorgeous.

It’s on a main road so there is some road noise if you’re in a room at the front. If you are easily disturbed then ask for a room at the back. It’s also a popular pub so don’t expect it to be quiet until the pub closes.

Breakfast was very good - good choice and the food is always tasty and plenty of it - you will not go hungry. We had dinner one evening and it's excellent, great choice and very generous portions. The staff are so lovely and friendly. We've stayed a couple of times over the years and it's a great location for our friends who live nearby. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas. It may not be trendy and modern but feels like home from home and you are always made to feel very welcome.

Evening meal and breakfast was good. Room was comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

Did not like full payment being taken out my bank account without prior warning. Checked my booking sheet and no mention of prepayment. On entering property, there was that bar smell, but it hadn't permeated upstairs. Room overlooked the A697 main road and having the window open at night meant the rumble of lorries from 5.30 onwards.

The Hospitality was first class. Friendly and they accommodated our need for an early Breakfast. We will hopefully be able to stay there again. Food good also. Our stay was exactly what we required as near where we needed to be each day.

The only thing I would say is I like a sheet on my bed as a Duvet is often too hot. Otherwise great.

My room was comfortable, some noise from the bar area below, but quiet after 11pm so not really a problem.All the staff are friendly and helpful and there is adequate parking in the pub car park. Well placed if you want to explore central or coastal Northumberland.

Thought the evening meal I had was a bit pricy for the two items on my plate (breaded chicken and three or four small potatoes, no other vegetables…)

Straightforward and pretty good value accommodation with a good rate for a single person (when I looked at options) and the staff were unfussy, kind, helpful, and checked us in really swiftly. Comfy and clean. Well made breakfast and food looks worth trying but didn't get round to an evening meal there unfortunately.

They sorted a small issue out, so no problems with the stay.

Location was excellent for our needs. Staff were very friendly. Evening meal choices were varied, of good quality & value for money.

More breakfast yoghurt flavour choices & a description of which cereals were available. Bathroom floor was chilly so pleased I brought my slippers. Nowhere to hang damp towels in bathroom. We would have reused them if we could.

The Granby Inn is in a perfect location for the places we wanted to visit. The staff were all without exception helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and helped with advice when needed. The food was superb, plenty of choice and even special themed nights. Served piping hot on hot plates. The breakfast was also great, with high quality ingredients.

The bedroom was great and really well appointed, however we would have liked a larger bed.
