I was after a quiet, secure, comfortable place with basic kitchen facilities near the centre of town, and Sampara Ubud seemed ideal. I was not disappointed. This turned out to be a really practical solution, and I think it would suit many travellers who want a little more flexibility and convenience but at a modest price. I selected an upstairs corner room (no balcony) with a separate kitchen: single-burner cooktop, basic pots and pans, plates etc., sink, refrigerator, big round table with two comfortable chairs. I wanted to experiment with local ingredients bought from the local market, and this was all I needed. As it happened, for eight days of my twelve-day stay I was ill (probably dengue fever: nasty). The kitchen was then extremely useful because I could prepare small, simple, healthy meals with no trouble. Staff were caring, and checked on my condition as needed. Made me feel safe. (Note that the huge food and produce market – which used to be downstairs at the nearby main tourist market, at the top of Monkey Forest Road – is still there but completely rebuilt like the rest of the complex. It's wonderful. No signage to show it exists, and no one will TELL you – not even Google, which got it completely wrong when I last checked. You may have to make your way through an underground car-and-scooter park to find it. Open from about 5:00 am till mid-morning, Monday to Friday. Not to be missed!) Helpful unobtrusive staff. Breakfast was available but I didn't require it. A good clean pool. You may not think to look for it, but there's a beautiful spacious rooftop area for meeting, relaxing, or just enjoying the sunset in hushed surrounds – so close to the vibrant bustle of the touristy town centre. Just make your way up the stairway, past the upper rooms, and you're there.

If they were to put a microwave oven – conveniently on the top of the fridge, perhaps – that would make this particular room an even more attractive proposition. But of course I managed quite well without.

Amazing location in the center of Ubud, but nice quiet because it is located away from the main road. Lovely swimming pool, always clean as well as the rooms. I had one with the kitchen so it was perfect for me. Staff is very kind and nice, always helpful. Internet was strong so I could work, AC in the room. Perfect. I enjoyedy stay here and for sure Ill come back here🙏🙂 Thank you

Everything. Sampara Ubud is a hidden gem in the absolute centre of Ubud. The delightful staff is exceptional. Courteous and attentive to any reasonable request. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Refreshing pool. Close to great cafes, shopping, markets, yet very quiet as it's set back from Monkey Forest Road. I can't wait to return to Sampara Ubud.

There was nothing to dislike at Sampara Ubud. Quite the contrary! There's everything to like here in this quiet peaceful setting. A treasured find in Ubud!

Amazing pool, good value for money, helpful lovely owners. Location is super central but tucked away so still quiet.

Big comfortable bed, nice rooms with big balcony. Quiet most of the time although there is some construction work. But quiet enough for the centre of town. Hot powerful shower. Strong wifi, central location in the tourist hot-spot.

No directions to find the place or direct access with car. Empty reception when I arrived carrying my bags. And couldn't message them because the wifi password is not provided. Probably waited 25 mins at reception before someone appeared. Also room confusion, I was downgraded to a room on the bottom floor despite booking a deluxe room. When they upgraded me there was not much difference in the rooms so feels like I paid more for no reason. Plus, the standard room was bigger and had a better shower and more equipped kitchen. The only thing the deluxe had was a view.

Everything just perfect! Thanks to all the staff, always there to help, very kind and nice people :) The location is great, central ubud, walking distance everywhere, bus still in a very peaceful spot, no noise, we could sleep perfectly and enjoy the outsides ( balcony and pool ) without the nosie of the streets. Small kitchen good to prep meals and breakfast:)

Great simple property in a central but quiet location in ubud. Stayed here for almost 2 weeks and the staff are the most helpful and were able to arrange anything I needed during my stay(bike, laundry, onward travel). Thank you ayup if you are reading. Great value for money would recommend to anyone who is looking for a no frills place to stay in the heart of ubud.

The location was incredible. Bang in the centre but it felt so quiet and secluded. Honestly I can’t believe it. The pool was nice to cool off. Very relaxing vibe. The wifi was good enough to remote work from if you needed to I’m sure. Very reliable

What a wonderful little haven, tucked away so lovely and quiet, yet easy walking distance to Mushroom beach and the many restaurants and bars dotted along the road down to the boats. The owner and staff are are simply amazing, so kind and nothing was too much trouble. The room and facilities- and gorgeous pool- are 5*. Trips can be booked from this stay, I did the 1 day tour of Nusa Penida and it was efficiently managed from start to finish. I extended my stay by 2 nights as didn’t want to leave! Can’t recommend enough.

Very central to everything in Ubud yet set far enough back from the main street to a be a calm peaceful oasis. Owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. Free fruit including mangosteens and rambutans was a bonus. Would definitely come again
