All staff team were smiley, happy, pleasant people who were there for you to enjoy your time spent. Our room was clean, comfortable, the bathroom was disabled friendly, grabrails, space with a bath that was easy to step into and good to get out of too. Shower was easy to use. Downstairs the bar and seating area was spacious and laid out to enable you to find a place to suit your needs. We ordered dinner and picked a table, the food was freshly cooked, tasted lovely and we ŵere given time to enjoy it. Disabled parking had lots of spaces right along the back of the building. There was refurbishment going on, the lady on reception did tell us to be careful of areas around the lift.

The bed was very comfortable, but too soft, however the side i chose had no support and if i got too close too the edge, i felt like i could roll out. There was decorating in progress, wet paint signs everwhere, we understand it needs to be done. In the morning, just after 8am, building maintance started, we were up and about but if you having a lie in, you would not sleep through it.

Good location. Good sized room with comfy beds. Tea/coffee making. Plenty of storage space. Good bathroom with a decent shower. Lift available. Lovely Staff, good food, reasonable prices for food and drinks. Plenty of toiletries and pillows

The decor of the room left a lot to be desired. Badly in need of decorating and updating. Limited number of electric sockets, only 2 for our use, one was taken up with my Husbands medical equipment, leaving only 1 for kettle, lamp, hairdryer, charging phones etc. Lamp shades stained. Walls stained with spillages. Room looked onto main road so could do with some privacy curtains allowing daylight in the room.

The property was stunning. The attention to detail throughout the property was evident. It has all the facilities you need, a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. It's very spacious with plenty of seating areas. The view is amazing and there's a lovely raised deck area to sit out on to take in the view. Plenty of parking, nothing has been overlooked with information on the local area and touches like binoculars to view the deer in the fields. The property was extremely clean and well presented, I would definitely stay here again and fully recommend it. The peace and quiet that it brings is also a huge bonus. A very impressive property and well worth a stay.

I honestly couldn't find anything I didn't like. It was all so well thought out and presented. A friendly welcome and a stunning property.

This is our 3rd visit to the Fairway, it is such a wonderfull place to stay, warm, welcoming, and you know you will be looked after, Zoe and her team are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble whatever you need they get it for you, my wife is a wheelchair user and all areas of the hotel is great for her. Next to mention is the restaurant, what can I say first the breakfast are so so good they would be perfect for a soldier to go on a mission he would not be hungry for hours it's the best breakfast we have ever tasted and it's one full plate of quality produce, the evening menu is also fantastic you can eat a full plate or a light bite, again the latter is as wholesome as most places large plates,, the staff are great always making sure your happy with your food and if you need anything, last but not least the house keeping staff need a big thank you our room was lovely and comfortable exceptionally clean, with lovely soft towels, and amazing pillows, we both slept lovely. So all I can say about our say is it was perfect and the price of our stay was amazing. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so lovely, see you very soon I promise, Bob and Kym xx Room 11

The weather

We had a small issue with our room on arrival. Mentioned it to Claire on reception and within minutes she had sorted us out in a calm, friendly and professional manner. We encountered Claire a few times during our stay, she was always smiling, courteous yet professional, a credit to the company. Breakfasts were lovely, wholesome, tasty and enjoyable.

No draught Guinness! Canned Guinness BUT they ran out early on St Patrick’s day and didn’t get restocked for a couple of days.

Caring, friendly and helpful staff - nothing too much trouble. Warm comfortable rooms and very clean. Perfect place to stay after a long drive, nice bar and food service and all at a fair price. I would highly recommend the Fairway to any weary travelers.

We arrived when there was a party on so it was very noisy the first night and children were just left to bounce all over the place and scream - not the best atmosphere to sit and eat a nice meal but tge second night we found a quiet corner and completely relaxed. After a hard 4 hour drive in the first night I suppose we were just tired and maybe a bit grumpy but enjoyed our meal and headed off to our rooms to escape the noise. Just getting old I suppose and prefer to relax and eat in a quiet corner.

Breakfast: staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Quite a simple layout but everything there and available. I ordered a cooked breakfast including 2 poached eggs, which couldn't be pre-prepared, but my breakfast was with me before I had finished my first piece of toast. Certainly not short changed on quantity! I didn't eat for the rest of the day and I only had poached eggs, bacon and sausages but certainly a plateful to set you up for the rest of the day - excellent!

The hotel is near to a road so, for me, it was noisy (I live on a farm in Northumberland where we don't get traffic) but for normal people it would probably be fine.

We stayed last night in Room 7 which is a Family room on the 1st floor. On entering the room was cold and we didn't think the heater on the wall would do much good but even on 1 bar the room was very warm. Windows opened without issue. The room was big enough and had all the basics. The kids stayed on single mattresses and we had a decent large double. The bathroom was good although the water was not mega hot it was hot enough for the bath. The WIFI was good both in the rooms and in the restaurant and bar.The staff were friendly and helped us with an extra pillow and some extra milk. The lady on the night shift was dressed as a fairy which the kids enjoyed. The (manager?) dressed in his green suit was great with the kids and they enjoyed the riddles he left them in between doing other things. We had a meal there last week and yesterday had Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast and the food is excellent and very good value.

We booked this place mainly for the soft play but it was not available and we don't do Halloween so was trying to get away from it but that was no biggie.The mattress started off as comfy but as the night went on we lost sleep due to bumping into each other. There was a lot of noise which is to be expected but hearing people using the loo next door suggests the walls are thin. We would stay again but not with the children as being on the upper floor would be better

Comfortable and very friendly atmosphere. The Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Sarah, the manageress made it possible for a dozen of us to have a quiet corner to hold our AGM as we were in Barnsley for an important fancy pigeon show. I can't praise the Fairway enough - we really enjoy our stays - great breakfasts and food in the evenings. It's a really homely stay. Thank you so much.
