I was hesitant to book this place at first, because it is a pub inn. I have not stayed in a pub inn before . But I was very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and quality of the rooms. I had a warm welcome by Yvonne, who gave me a little tour of the place, told me about the house rules, showed me to my room and was very professional and friendly. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, and looked inviting. It had everything you needed for a stay away from home. I had a very comfortable stay here with the added bonus of the beautiful natural scenery surrounding it! I definitely recommend it!!!

I had a lovely stay. The host Yvonne was welcoming, accommodating, flexible and friendly. The room was excellent, and had character. I have stayed in plenty of hotels and b&bs, but instead of a generic white cold theme I am used to from these places, this one was warm and homy. Clean place overall, brand new quality towels and full size toiletries provided. Comfortable beds, soft bedding, perfect pillows. Adjustable heating, worked quickly. It had everything I needed. It's in a great location with bus service just outside. Great paths and hikes for nature lovers. Attractions and things to do, shopping nearby. Or just enjoy beautiful scenery. Great value. I can only recommend it!!!

Lovely pub which, as a family of 6 and an eleven month old, we took over for a couple of nights! Yvonne was most welcoming and accommodating. Made to feel very welcome. Sorted out a takeaway for the Friday night and taxis for a wedding we were going to on the Saturday.

Having to go out for breakfast? Not a big problem as we found/were told of a good place to go which did not disappoint. Could have done with a couple of hours extra in bed Saturday morning due to having had a great Friday evening!

Lovely rooms, great customer service. Nice, clean, bright, characteristic, tastefully decorated place. You can tell they make the effort to make you feel welcome, and take good care of the place. It was beyond my expectations. I was looking for a cheap place to stay close to Penistone, with good public transport service access. This place ticked all the boxes for me, but it was so much more than that. I would highly recommend this place!!!

Really pleasant experience all around. Hosts were very responsive to messages/queries and gave a personal touch to the stay. Booked for 1x night whilst attending a wedding reception close by. The room was clean, nicely furnished and convenient to access in & out of hours. Great value for money. Would recommend to all and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you

Good old fashioned pub. The room had an en suite, a TV, a wardrobe, a chair, and a side table with coffee. There was a radiator and also space heater just in case, but it wasn't cold at all. The bed was fine. It was exactly what I needed, can't fault.

Location was perfect for our needs. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. TV had loads of channels. WiFi available and worked!!! Not relevant, but the locals who visit the pub were friendly.

A fan in the room would have helped. I know the heatwave was unusual, but the room was like a sauna, so in winter it'll be great. Lack of toilet paper.... we had half a roll for 3 nights. Luckily I brought some with.

The contact with the owner was fantastic The service was great and she even let us in early to enable us to prepare for a family wedding after a 5.5 hour drive, which was very welcomed as we could all relax and not have to rush.

Comfortable quiet stay in clean room pleasant surroundings and lots of fresh air. Nice drinking venue with a good Moretti.

Check in 16.30 pm pub opening at 16.00 pm so travellers arriving before hand have to wait for premises to open doors. Before greeted with 🗝️ to room . Check out is 8am No food available

The room has everything we needed including tea making facilities. Check in was easy but you must check in before pub closes to get access to the room keys.

The shower room was quite cramped. You can't get breakfast here.
