Just off the main road but felt lovely and remote. The hotel was totally charming with shutters on the windows and lots of little quirks. Great selection of teas and coffee and 2 homemade shortbread in the room also. We didn't have dinner but the breakfast was exceptional. Homemade granola, delicious pastries and the cooked options were both varied and delicious. My daughter had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and I had the shakshuka. Both were amazing! All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

The only thing that I noticed was lacking was a hairdryer although I'm sure one would have been provided if requested.

Lovely hotel. In its own beautiful grounds and it was nice to wander about in them. There was lots of parking space - which was free, unlike some city centre hotels that charge for parking, which I think is cheeky. We had a lovely spacious room with a good en-suite shower. The staff were all friendly, efficient and helpful

Could have done with a tube of body wash for each of us, one between both of us isn't much. The coffee from the machine in the room (coffee pods) wasn't particularly nice - would really have preferred instant coffee sachets. Though these were little things and it wouldn't stop us booking this hotel again

Stunning property and beautiful surroundings. The property is decorated beautifully and very clean. Bedroom was spacious enough for just me, nice and cosy and felt very safe & secure as a lone female guest. Great powerful shower, very clean bathroom, bath sheets were big and fluffy which was nice! Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Whilst the staff were lovely, it did take a while to be seated for dinner, food was ok, nothing particularly special. Breakfast was only served from 7:30, I was travelling for business so was up and out prior to this time, which was a shame because I’d purposely booked ensuring that breakfast was included but had to head out hungry!

This property is well located for the many visitor attractions in the area. The hotel is easily located and within large grounds. The parking is excellent as are the outside arears for dining. The rooms are of a good size , in good condition and clean. The ensuite of our room was a little cramped but adequate and shower was good. Tea and coffee facilities were good and water, biscuits etc re-supplied daily. The restaurant and bar areas were spacious, light and well kept. Breakfast was excellent and the quality of the food good. The evening menu is limited but good. The staff are generally friendly and polite.

Beautiful estate grounds and hotel. Relaxing and lots of space. The staff were really friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The room we had was excellent - stunning view, clean and comfortable. The food was amazing and our family party of 10 ate everything! Vegetarian options are really good too.

The only teeny thing I could mention was the trout dish came with a few potatoes and no veg so seemed a little lacking in colour and portion size, so I needed to order additional veg. Only saying that so you are aware as it tasted gorgeous.

Nice little hotel with a personal touch. Good service, nice, well equipped and spacious rooms, good restaurant, very good breakfast. I stay in the area very often for business and will definitely be staying again. About a 1000 times better than the nearby purple chain of faceless hotels.

As others mentioned in the reviews they seem to have a macerator which turns itself on every time you flush the toilet or pour water down the sink or shower. It makes a quite loud noise but this does not ruin the overall impression.

Beautiful location. Incredible views out on to the surrounding fields of sheep and cows. Stunning garden to explore. Felt like a retreat in nature. Rooms are stunning, I'd move in and live here in a heartbeat! Fabulous breakfast looking out on to the fields of sheep. Exceptional housekeeping staff. Very dog friendly, staff were so lovely with our little doggy and he loved the garden. We can't wait to return and stay longer.

This isn't a criticism but just an observation. The hotel is a grand period property but the decor in the wing where our room was situated was a bit faded and tired along with the furnishings. This didn't however diminish our enjoyment of the stay. I'm sure that there is always work in progress

The location and views are spectacular. The space is more than generous and the jacuzzi bath is brilliant. The breakfast was lovely with the local bacon being some of the best I have ever had. We had lunch there and the food was excellent and far too generous. Amongst the best sirloin I have eber had.

Not didn't like but the decor and grounds seemed to lack coherence and were a bit eclectic. Would suggest a visit from a garden designer might help.

My second stay here and just as good as the first time. This impressive property is within 5-10 minutes drive of the market town of Oswestry and within driving distance of the rolling countryside of Shropshire. It would be a great base for either business or leisure travellers and the hotel is also used a lot by locals in the area for events. The staff are super friendly and the rooms beautifully clean and nicely designed.
