The location was great with an easy walk into town. Parking was in a small area at the rear of the house; it was also possible to park in the road. Our room (Chess) was comfortable and attractive with a large, comfortable bed, storage space, dressing table, 2 chairs, TV, fridge and ensuite shower room. The latter was small but functional and the shower large with good water pressure. But best of all were the hosts, Rob and Melissa! So friendly and helpful with a wealth of experience in the hospitality business and it showed. No little detail was forgotten; when they learnt that we had a bottle of gin with us they left ice and lemon in our fridge! Our two breakfasts were fabulous, the mixed fresh fruit platter was exceptional, cooked course full of flavour and perfectly cooked, great coffee, juice, pastries, toast and more! Needless to say we skipped lunch while we were there! So many thanks Rob and Melissa, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our little chats.

Everything was spot on. If I had to comment the only thing I can think of is that I prefer a full duvet cover to a sheet and duvet but that's just me and not significant.

The breakfast was delicious and there was lots of choice. Every day, we were left a piece of homemade cake each in our room. The coffee and tea making facilities were excellent with fresh milk left in the mini fridge daily as well as a bottle of water each. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Rob and Melissa were extremely helpful giving us directions to the places we wanted to go and advising us on good places to eat and shop. The location was also good as it is on the border of Wales and other scenic places.

There was nothing that I can think of which needed improving. Our only issue was that many of the places to eat in Oswestry weren't open on Monday and Tuesday evenings. However, Rob and Melissa told us this and we were able to work around it.

We arrived early and asked if we could leave the car, but were told that our room was ready, so we could check in. We received a very warm welcome and our hosts were so friendly throughout. The carrot cake in the room was a lovely touch. The room was fabulous, overlooking a beautiful garden, which we were welcome to sit in ( if the weather had been better) Breakfast was delicious 10/10. Location was great. I would 100% recommend.

Everything was great. The only tiny fault we can find is that there was light coming in round the door at night, from the landing.

The house was beautifully decorated in a quirky and fun way. Each room was themed around a different board game. Mine was chess so black and white. Unfortunately it raining a lot while I was there but the garden space looked really nice too. There was a cosy looking lounge area with lampshades trimmed with feathers. Melissa and Rob were the perfect hosts, appearing when you needed them and providing everything you needed. They went out of their way to accommodate my lactose intolerance and the breakfast was delicious. I especially enjoyed the fruit platters.

I guess the view from the window over the local police station was not great! The location was perfect for me as I was visiting my Mum and she lived nearby. I am not sure Oswestry would have much to offer for a holiday maker from what I have seen.

What a lovely house Rob and Melissa have in a great location in a quiet area. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, a very decent shower and no street noise....ideal. The room also had a fridge and a milky frothy thing which Melissa showed my wife how to use it. The location is ideal as I said it is really quiet and a short walk to town for the pubs and restaurants. There is onsite parking (bonus) you can go through the back way to your room which is ideal. Rob and Melissa are great hosts who we enjoyed chatting with and are full of local knowledge to enhance your stay. Would we recommend, yes.

The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom under the floor heating was great. The choices of drinks were just lovely, not just one t bag!! Proper kettle and fresh milk provided. Nespresso machine with choices of coffee, a frothy milk maker and last but not least hot chocolate. There was even fresh shortbread for me to eat. The bed was extremely comfortable with the most amazing bedding. All in all just what I needed before a stressful day after. The hosts of this hotel are warm and inviting and I don't envisage anything being to much.

There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel, however I couldn't have breakfast due too having surgery that morning and no discount was offered.

What a lovely property, and the owners were absolutely fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. We were treated like friends, but they never lost their professionalism. Our room was beautiful with everything you would need, including fresh homemade baked goods. 😋. It's a brilliant location, just a 10 minute walk into town. It is definitely value for money, and the breakfast was scrumptious and plentiful. I would highly recommend this property.

So welcoming! A nicely furnished, lovely big house, full of character, with a really spacious, comfortable room (with a proper coffee maker!) and a modern shower room. There was what looked like a lovely garden too, but unfortunately it was rainy for us. Dead handy to have their own small car park by the house. Really excellent breakfast as well, with far more than the usual fry-up options. The house is in the perfect spot - really quiet but less than 10 minutes to walk into the centre. We got some great recommendations for dinner and had a lovely Italian meal just 5 minutes up the road. Would definitely recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we knew we found a slice of heaven. The lovely cake on arrival was delish! The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The gorgeous garden was lovely to sit and chill with some beer. Rob and Melissa were absolutely delightful. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

I couldn’t figure out how not to get water all over the bathroom floor while taking a shower.

There are many positive reviews of Chilton House….and we agree with all of them. It is an excellent B&B. We have stayed in many other good venues but we both felt that this one was exceptional and truly ‘value for money’. What was particularly pleasing was that there was no hint of penny-pinching or meanness….everything was of the highest standard. We hope to return at some point.
