We had a wonderful stay at the Garland Hotel & we’re very well looked after. The bed was comfortable, room had all we needed , breakfast was delicious with a great selection of home made cakes, pastries, jams, yoghurt & fruits. We also had great advice on restaurants to suit our needs, sightseeing attractions & also places to shop to suit our needs. We could not recommend highly enough !! Loved our stay & thank you to Emmanuel especially.

Location was great- in the middle of the old Avignon City - note you cannot drive in the City - you have to park in either paid parking (600m away) or free public parking (1.5km away). The room was spacious, great looking interior, bathroom not spacious. Staff were very accommodating and helpful.

Bathroom was a little small. We had to ask for an iron as there was none in the room. We got offered a steamer and had to use it in the bathroom with the door closed as it would start the fire alarm. The bathroom is quite small so not the best option. The pillows were soft with no options. Just a note, some of the apartments require you walking up very tight stairs. It was ok for us but not for everyone.

The lady at the reception was very friendly and gave us well meant advice. The location is right at the center centre of historic Avignon. Our room had 2 windows in different walls so lots of light. One had a view on a pedestrian street with some restaurants but the room is pretty soundproof for outside noise so we had a good night sleep. Good mattresses.

We didn't like it that you have to hang your room key at the wall opposite the reception when you leave. It didn't feel safe. The information from the frontdesk lady, who was very convinced that it was impossible to get an Uber in the early morning(6:15 am) to the TGV station, wasn't right. No offense. She advised us to walk with our heavy luggage. We booked the Uber the night before and had no problem at all.

Amazing location & super helpful hosts - provided excellent dinner suggestions & even book a couple of evenings for us - they really did go beyond.

We didn't realise there was nowhere to sit together when the owners aren't around. We actually didn't need it as the weather was kind & we remained out, but the website does suggest that access is available. The small room was sometimes locked; we didn't look into it further. The staircases are also something that should be highlighted in more detail.

I purchased an upgrade to get a room in the first floor since lugging our luggage up the stairs did not interest me. The room was very clean, quiet and convenient. The english speaking desk manager was very helpful.

Room key is plainly accessible to any of the guests since it hangs on the wall and there may not be anyone on the desk. Seems like a security risk. However only registered guests can enter the hotel through secure locked doors.

I’m so happy to write a review for this fabulous little boutique hotel right in the centre of old Avignon. For the price you pay you really get a special stay in an old traditional building that has unique features & charm. The host is charming & he goes out of his way to welcome you, enquire about your day & give any suggestions that you need. I stayed in room 5 & loved my view onto a cobbled, narrow alleyway. I slept well for the two nights I was there as the windows are sound proofed & the sheets & towels are really nice quality. This hotel is well placed to explore all the sights of Avignon as everything is a few minutes walk away. I didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel but there are cafes & restaurants right on the door step. Avignon is a charming place & if I ever returned I would certainly stay at Hotel Garlande.

There is nothing that I didn’t like. I loved it all but if you have mobility issues you might want to request a ground floor room as there is a narrow staircase in this very old & traditional building.

Great location and beautiful room with everything needed. Lovely view from the top floor, staff were fantastic, really lovely place.

Only thing is that the top room is up some very steep stairs and if you have mobility issues this wouldn’t be advisable. I was fine, but my 70 year old dad came to visit and he could barely get up/down the steep stairs but this is very easily avoided by requesting a room lower down :) the place is fantastic and highly recommended!

This is a seriously well run hotel. Everything was well organised and very efficient. I found the gentleman on reception (the proprietor I guess) very helpful and friendly. The notes sent before I arrived were really useful, as was the information provided when I arrived. The location is excellent and the hotel has simple but clean and pleasant rooms. My room was double aspect.

There was nothing which I did not like about this hotel other than perhaps the requirement to leave my key hanging on a hook when I was out. Particularly when the reception was not manned, it would have been easy for another guest to take my key. They didn't, of course!

This one was a totally random pick. I was just looking to be close to the city's premier attractions. In retrospect, I am so glad I chose Garlande Hotel. The hotel was totally charming, immaculate, and comfortable, and the gentleman in charge was just brilliant. He was sooooo helpful, friendly, and kind. A warm and enthusiastic welcome is such a nice thing to experience after a long day on the road. This place really rolls out the red carpet. I could not say enough glowing things about this little gem. Definitely stay here, if you get a chance.

The location. Tucked away, quiet and yet only 5-10 minute walk to the Palais de Papes, Le Pont d’Avignon and the tranquil gardens of Jardin des Doms. Comfortable, spacious room with tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a fridge. The owners were very friendly and helpful, advising us on the best things to see and do to ensure we got the most out of our stay in the beautiful city of Avignon. Can recommend.
