Location, location, location. Couldn't be more central. The rooms were ok sized with nice amenities. Nice cafe with good coffee and bread and excellent service.

We originally got a horrible room on ground floor without windows. We managed to exchange both rooms for better rooms the next day. The hotel staff were obviously completly used to people complaining over these specific rooms. so it was the modus operandi. Every day a new guest were allocated to them only to be moved elsewhere the next day. They simply shouldn't be used as rooms. They were damp and smelled musty.

The equipment of the hotel room was very used and the whole room would need renovation. The floor and the wooden parts of the room were falling apart, the painting on the walls and ceiling was falling off, the tiles in the bathroom were falling off the wall, no function electricity in the room, ….etc. The room would deserve a really big renovation

Very clean and lovely hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help. Very good air conditioning, silent and cool. The bathroom is comfortable, big, with plenty of space. Overall location is also good, 2 minutes walk from the Pl. Reial with lots of restaurants and 5 minutes from Les Rambles. Not so far from the sea too, 20-25 minutes walk.

The pool is really small, 2x1,5m or even smaller, just to sit in the water, not for a swim. It would be also good to have a mirror in the room too, the full body length.

We chose the hotel for it's location and weren't expecting anything fancy. The professionalism impressed me and I would stay with this hotel chain again. There's easy access to the metro, and there's a good supermarket right accross the alley, and an amazing shoe store next door. We were very happy with the centrality provided.

I thought we had booked a room with a balcony. We did get a room facing the street as requested, but it was the one facade facing room without a balcony. Chose not to mention it. The neighborhood is very central and we loved the location, but it is a bit on the seedy side. There was a mini-bar but no coffee machine. I've become used to having complimentary coffee service in hotel rooms and the lack thereof was disappointing. We also had trouble getting to the hotel with a cab. The driver dropped us off a ways away because it was convenient for him. We might have been better off taking a train from the airport.

I had an overall good experience at Catalonia Avinyo. The staff were very attentive, polite and accommodating. I was even allowed to check in slightly earlier than the usual time, which was much appreciated after my early morning flight. The room was exactly as shown in the photos – comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. There were no surprises, which is always a positive when traveling. Breakfast was really good. There was a great variety to choose from, including eggs cooked in several different ways, yogurt, cheeses, ham, fruits, different baked goods like croissants etc. It’s definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had! The hotel’s location is perfect! Very central and with easy access to the metro, making it super convenient for getting around Barcelona. A nice bonus was the gym – it wasn’t anything spectacular, but it had all the essentials for a decent workout, which was a great way to start the day!

The only downside was that the rooms weren’t very well soundproofed. Unfortunately, during both nights of my stay, I could hear other guests returning late at night, some of whom had clearly enjoyed a few drinks and continued their conversations and laughter in their rooms. It was quite disruptive and made it difficult to sleep. I’d strongly recommend bringing earplugs just in case.

We stayed in Barcelona for a week, so we booked one of the bigger rooms, This was well worth paying extra. While still not large, our room had all the space we needed, Well appointed, clean and the bed was huge. Very good breakfasts. The location was great -- being in the middle of the lively gothic quarter, many attractions were within easy walking distance, while the closest stop on Barcelona's excellent metro system was only a 10 minute walk.

The only English language TV channel available was the repetitive CNN and even that became unwatchable after a couple of days due to poor reception. Everything else was great.

It was a short walk to the beach and we found a few supermarkets close by as well as a lot of restaurants and pubs. It was a quiet area which we appreciated. The historic centre was only about a 10 minute walk. The lodging was comfortable and quiet and the rooftop patio was also quite nice.

There was no parking available at the lodging but we found a hotel about 5 minutes away that offered us a parking spot for a fee.

Staff: The staff were extremely helpful. We arrived before check-in, intending to drop off our luggage and they had a room free so let us check-in early, which was extremely kind of them. They were also happy to help with any questions we had. Overall great staff experience. Location: The location was great. At the heart of a busy street, which allowed easy access to metro station, bus stops and shops. The hotel has a little cafe at the front, which also allowed us to pick up anything if we wanted at a reasonable price. Facility: The room was good. The bed was a bug springy but not uncomfortable. The room was a good size, but we did not spend much time in the room so it was a good size for travels who do not want to stay in the hotel all the trip.

The hotel pool was a small pool on the roof. Not big enough to comfortable 'swim' but often used by people to sit in.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, room was clean and bed was fine. Location was perfect as close to two metro stops that were on different lines and lots of things that were walkable to, plus a supermarket was opposite so easy to grab food and drink, but the hotel's cafe/bar was decent and reasonably priced as well. Roof terrace, despite having what was more like a kids paddling pool as opposed to an actual swimming pool was a nice place to chill out and catch a few rays if that's your thing.

Can't say that it was overall great value for money tbh, quite basic facilities for the amount we paid and commonly found options such as a room coffee/tea maker were not available. I guess the price is indicative of the location somewhat. Also our room was located in a corner on the 2nd floor and so there was only a tiny window next to the door that was letting in any light from the internal courtyard. One other issue, the auto option on the air con didn't work and so you either had to turn it on or off as and when as opposed to setting a desired temperature and let the thermostat regulate the operation of the air con.
