We simply loved our stay at the Akasia Villas (two bedroom villa w private pool). Already before our stay we received info on how to best reach the villa, contact name and numbers. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cool towel and a drink. Further information on Gili Air, nearby restaurants, medical support if needed etc was shared as pdf via WhatsAppp. When entering our villa we were shown our little paradise for four nights, also a little private welcome note and toys for our kids waited for us there. The garden area with the pool and open kitchen is designed in a simple, beautiful manner, inviting us to relax or play there. Breakfast was served directly in our villa and nicely arranged on plates (pre-order the night before). All of the staff was super friendly, helpful and responsive (directly at reception or via WhatsApp), i.e. for organising bikes including kids‘ seats or laundry. Turtle snorkling point is less than 5 mins away per bike. Our kids loved going around the island on the bikes and of course the horse drawn carriage taxis. As we were on the end of our vacation, we did not have much wiggle room for making changes to our itinerary, but we still extended for one night (and would have stayed longer if possible). Thank you Teah, Sam, Zaman, Ozzy and all foor an unforgettable stay.

We are a family of four, travelling around Bali for a month and staying in 15 places! This was our second visit to Gili Air, and we stayed a week on the island and 4 nights at the villa for Christmas. The property comprises seven villas, including a three-bedroom option in another location. We stayed in the secluded two-bedroom villa at the end, which was perfect for our family. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival with a fruit platter (extra cost) and brand-new bikes (80 per day), including a smaller one we had pre-arranged for our 10-year-old son. The villa features two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, making it ideal for two couples or a family. The staff were lovely and friendly—they would wave to us every time we rode by on our bikes! Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before, and we appreciated thoughtful touches like complimentary water refills (thanks for being sustainable and not using plastics) and the availability of massages. The towels and bedding were changed during our four-night stay, and the Australian family who owns the property even gave us a thoughtful departing gift. The location was fantastic, but if it’s your first time in Gili Air, I’d recommend staying in two places to experience the island entirely as it is a distance from the main wharf when you arrive. We walked it - 10 -15 mins with luggage.. It’s close to Legends (owned by another Aussie), where we enjoyed a fabulous Christmas lunch. The staff there were terrific, too. We also spent a great day at BASK on Gili Meno (a quick trip via the Island Hopper for 40k IDR per person). Snorkelling to the statues was fun, though it was pretty busy. Pro tip: Make sure you get bicycles—it transforms your entire experience of the island!

The kitchen couches were uncomfortable; adding more pillows would make a big difference! Especially as it was raining and it was the only place to sit! My husband, who is 6'3", found them particularly challenging, and I felt the same. I would suggest a renovation to remove the kitchen and put in couches instead—just an idea. The villa is situated right next to the pool area, but the walkway is relatively narrow —just a heads-up, it’s not ideal for very small children because the pool is outside the bedroom doors and you would be super stressed thinking of your little one! Additionally, the toilet seat wasn’t properly attached, which I brought to their attention. It's super minor, though!

A Slice of Paradise – Akasia Villas Gili Air I can’t speak highly enough of our magical stay at Akasia Villas on Gili Air. These villas are absolutely gorgeous – spacious, beautifully styled, and tucked away in a peaceful, private part of the island. The location is perfect: wonderfully quiet, yet still just a short stroll or bike ride to the beach, restaurants, and shops. One of the biggest highlights? Our own private pool! It was crystal-clear, surrounded by lush greenery, and the perfect place to cool off and relax in total privacy. Every morning felt like a dream waking up in such a tranquil setting. But what truly sets Akasia apart is the incredible staff. So warm, welcoming, and attentive — nothing was too much trouble. They went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. We were especially touched when they organised a surprise birthday celebration during our stay. Not only did they arrange a delicious birthday cake, but the entire team came to our villa, singing happy birthday with huge smiles and such joy. It was honestly one of the most heartwarming and special moments we’ve ever experienced on holiday. If you’re heading to Gili Air and looking for a place that offers beauty, peace, and heartfelt hospitality, Akasia Villas is the one. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return. 🌴❤️

We loved everything about our villa stay with Akasia - from the welcoming, responsive and friendly staff, to the beautifully appointed villa and perfect plunge pool, and the proximity to excellent coffee, food options, beaches and activities. It was an easy bike ride from anywhere we wanted to go, whilst being peaceful and private - which was our top priority. The daily breakfast was delicious and served with care, right on time every day. The team at Akasia were really responsive to all of our questions and needs, and they organised the BEST private snorkelling experience with Captain Patrick - we saw turtles, an eel, and the most incredible variety of fish and coral. Such a treat :) We honestly had such a great time, I really wouldn't change a thing. Can't wait to come back!

It was a cute little accommodation, away from all the business on the Main Street. Especially I want to point out the staff! They were more than accommodating and answering every WhatsApp message within a few minutes.

This is nothing the accommodation can be hold responsible for but the first night we had a lot of rain which made it a bit unpleasant walking out as the street in front is dirt road and we basically had to cross a big puddle. Unfortunately, we also had no electricity in the first night due to an open cable in the garden which was fixed directly the next day and the staff was more than trying to get it fixed asap. This can happen, we are located in the middle of nature there and it is a small island. So no hard feelings from our side but worth mentioning.

We chose this beautiful place to spend our last night on the Gili Islands. It was also a chance to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and the staff were amazing — they surprised us by bringing out a birthday cake, and the whole team came to sing and play guitar for her. It was a moment she will never forget. As for the villa itself, everything was perfect — from the delicious breakfast to the comfort of the bedding, and the beauty of the surroundings. One thing is certain: when we return to the island, we’ll definitely stay at these villas again. Thank you to the Akasia team!

Nothing, everything was perfect

Clean, cozy and had a lovely island vibe. The staff were fantastic, kind, attentive and welcoming - we couldn’t sing their praises enough. We both had a birthday during our stay and they helped make our days extra special. The mosquito netting around the bed was good quality and kept our fears at bay. The villas are well placed for easy access to the northern and Eastern beaches by foot. We hired bikes and covered the entire island in a short time, definitely worth doing, the staff had them delivered to our villa. There are number of brilliant restaurants around the villas, allora is worthy of particular mention - we have travelled Italy extensively and appreciated how authentic their food was. We would highly recommend warung zZz for authentic local cuisine.

Absolutely nothing!

The Villas are spacious and nice. The privat pool is awesome and makes it very enjoyable. The rooms are good and the Toilets are clean. Overall that is all great. The location is a little of the beaten path but still close enough to where ever you want to go. It makes it quiet and relaxed.

The breakfast itself was good, but the presentation when it comes in "tin cans" is a little off of what you expect. Not sure why it was that way but maybe because we had the last villa from reception the internet was really slow. Considering that you book you breakfast via an app this is tricky. However, the team always tried to help asap. as Good as the privat pool is, it makes the "yard" of the villa quite small and you have to look out that you do not fall into it, especially in the dark ;). Nothing to do with the Villa itself, but the calls of the Muezzin can be heard quite well, also during the night...

Everything was top notch. From the staff to the room, amazing!!!. Such a beautiful part of the world complimented by our stay at akasia villas. The location was central on the island and within 15 minutes walk from everything. The pool was clean and even though we both had explosive diarrhoea from a bout with Bali belly, the plumbing was more than capable and the toilet, well ventilated. I'd blown out 3 sewerage pipes in various accomodations around Bali in the days preceding so this was a welcome change. You were well amongst it all here. I went to powdercoat the bowl at 3am one night and saw a huntsman spider and a gecko fighting to the death right next to the toilet roll holder. The huntsman was missing a leg so I have it the coup de grace with a pair of soiled underpants and said goodnight. All in all 10 out of 10 will be back for more.

Fellow Australians in the villa next door.

The property is beautiful, stylish and spacious. The location is calm, a bit further from the main road. The staff is very friendly and helpful 😊 They even helped us to rent the bikes to go around the island. Check in was also quick and smooth. There was a bit of storm during our stay and the property kept us informed all the time regarding the electricity situation so such proactivity is highly appreciated! Also, I really liked their informative PDF file which you receive upon check in with all the restaurant recommendations and even a little local language vocabulary which is a very nice touch! Highly recommend Akasia Villas upon your stay in Gili Air! 😊
