Great place to stay for early morning flights as it's so close to the airport. It's nice that it's connected to a pub where you can have food all day and has a cozy feel to it, usually airport hotels feel so cold and impersonal. The rooms are basic but fine (other than not having a fridge). Where this hotel really shines is in their fantastic service and their breakfast, if your flight is very early they prepare a packed breakfast for you to take. Also, at reception they have fresh milk, fruit, biscuits, drinks, extra toilet paper for you take if hou need it, great idea!

Having previously stayed at The Bulls Head we knew what to expect. Conveniently located we find The Bulls Head good value and perfect for our needs. Breakfast was included in the rate and was very good.

As we were going to a wedding nearby the day after our stay but didn't need to be at the venue until 1pm we asked if we could extend our check out time by an hour to 12noon. Our request was declined by the duty manager as he suggested all rooms were booked for evening and the cleaning staff needed the maximum time to prepare them. Whilst I acknowledge preparing rooms can be time consuming I assume when booking.com and Expedia was showing that I could make a booking for 5 rooms the hotel wasn't fully booked after all.

The rooms were really comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The touch of generosity with the fruit and extra coffee Supplies at reception was a nice touch.

So disabled room wasn’t 100% safe, and that there was a slight level difference between bedroom and bathroom and nothing solid to hang onto. I fell backwards when I reached for the door which was a sliding door and didn’t support me (it’s okay, I didn’t hurt myself.😀) We thought we might eat in the pub at night, but the menu looked quite ordinary and when I went in around 5 pm, it rather smelled of stale beer and fried food.

The rooms were stunning, and the disabled access room was fantastic. I was so so impressed at the high standard and quality of the room, it was far better than what I was hoping for and what I was expecting for the price, and the rooms were SO soundproof! We stayed the night ahead of a flight from Manchester, and it was only a 10 minute drive to the airport car park.

I cant speak for the breakfast, and I don't know how closely they are managed, but the food at the pub/restaurant onsite really let it down and is the only reason I wouldn't look to book here again. The staff were lovely in dealing with our issues, but it's very sad that out of 4 meals, 3 were very poor, and we had to chase up a side dish that hadn't arrived within 5-10 minutes of the rest of the meal arriving.

We stayed two nights, August 27 and 28. Our rooms were very quiet and comfortable and we appreciated the fact that the staff had done as we requested and given us rooms side by side and in a discreet part of the building. I'd like to commend the kitchen staff, especially the chef, for the excellent breakfasts with special mention for the Eggs Benedict and the Scrambled Eggs. Staff at all times provided polite and prompt assistance with special mention for the provision of an icepack to ease my son's back pain after a long drive. I'd have no hesitation recommending this pub to others.

No negatives.

The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean . Well equipped, we had the disabled room. Only downside was faulty tv volume kept cutting out. Toliet roll holder was sharp and needed changing. Other than that it was a great location and stay for the airport. Pub excellent food marvelous.

Room one slight defects , tv faulty and toliet roll holder damaged and dangerous for a disable person to sit on the toliet.

Large well appointed room, with very comfortable bed and large well appointed shower/WC. we were on the ground floor , where additional towels, and a fridge with flasks of fresh milk were available for guests to take if required.

for some reason the TV only supplied 4 or 5 kids and obscure channels, which we discoverd when we wanted to watch the News. Having said that, I am sure that had we pointed this out to the staff, it would habe been rectified.

Very conveniently located accommodation for access to Manchester Airport, but with a bit more character than the usual airport hotels. The fairly modern bedroom block has smart, good sized rooms and convenient parking right outside. The pub itself is next door and has a very nice garden area with outdoor dining. We had dinner in the pub, which has a fairly extensive menu, but unfortunately a couple of the more interesting options were not availble on the evening of our stay. The breakfast was superb, with all the standard Full English options, plus croissants etc. and we had scrambled eggs with sour dough toast and smoked salmon, which came in very generous portions and was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The missing items from the dinner menu were a bit of a disappointment.

It's our kind of place - we just love it. We stay here to travel to Old Trafford for cricket & proximity to Manchester airport. It's comfortable, welcoming with a great local atmosphere, a huge beer garden & it's a Robinsons house. We used to live in Wythenshawe which isn't far from Hale Barns, plus I kept a horse in Hale years ago, so we know the area well. Hale Barns has not changed too much over the years &, although we live in North Wales, we still have yearnings for the Cheshire countryside!

I don't like making negative comments. However, there was nowhere to hang coats despite there being space on the wall opposite the bathroom. Also, particularly as the bathroom contained an overbath shower, a handrail is an absolute essential & should be addressed as soon as possible.

Lovely room, comfortable bed, fantastic shower!! Very quiet, slept like a baby!

Breakfast was a little disappointing, it buffet was fine, hot food order was only just warm and GF full English had overcooked bacon and was missing scrambled egg. No staff around to tell. Otherwise, lovely setting and fantastic hot coffee?
