This was our first stop in Italy and our favourite stay. Menaggio is a MUST if visiting Italy and this accomodation is the place to be. Although the hotel is not very new and modern, I would definitely stay again due to the most incredible location. You are staying in the main piazza, facing the main lake. Beneath the hotel are two incredibly restaraunts where we spent our entire day just staring at the water. Would be nice for the hotel to renovation and upgrade their rooms however the location makes this so worth while. There is also a public swimming pool 5 minutes down the road which we found out about on our last day that we wished we knew about sooner.

Really convenient location, right next to the main square and a 7 minute walk to both the bus station and ferry port. Modern room, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and good shower pressure. Staff were really friendly and helpful, we bought a bottle of wine from a local shop and the receptionist provided us with wine glasses and a corkscrew. We stayed as the first stop on our honeymoon and they left rose petals and chocolates in the room which was a nice touch. Room on the top floor also had a private balcony with a lovely view of the lake. Lots of choices for restaurants nearby - highly recommend Pasticceria Cassera Moretti for great coffee, pastries, focaccia and cannoli, and La Trattoria next door for pizza and Divino 13 for dinner.

It has everything you need for a break when you are out exploring most of the time, no complaints

The woman at the front desk (I forgot her name!) was exceptional! we stayed at six different hotels during our trip to Italy and she was by far the most friendly and helpful! The room and hotel have been nicely updated and it was centrally located with great views of the lake.

Though it’s a great location it is NOT a quiet location, with many noisy families and music in the square near the hotel.

We had such a lovely stay at Hotel Garni Corona. To be honest, the room exceeded my expectations! I really loved the lake view we had, as well as how big the room is, and the variety of toiletries available. Most hotels we stayed at in Italy didn’t include conditioner, but this hotel had that, and even a soap for intimates (have never seen that before at any hotel). The breakfast was also great. Loved the cold cuts, fresh orange juice, and the cappuccinos. It’s nice that breakfast is from 7:45-10:15 so it’s a big timeframe.

The only thing I would seek to improve is the WiFi strength. It was great on the first floor where breakfast is located, but it was really unstable in our room on the third floor.

I liked everything about this hotel. It's in the centre of Menaggio, close to many restaurants and shops, but because the balconies of our room were facing the lake we didn't hear noise and loud music in the evening from the busy back street and enjoyed lovely lake views. The room was spacious and had everything my family needed for a comfortable stay. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and it was cleaned every single day even though we stayed in the hotel only for three nights. The receptionists were very nice and attentive, check in and check out processes were quick and smooth. Hotel Garni Corona is definitely worth the money you pay for it.

Perfect hotel ; great location to bars , restaurants, ferry port & bus stop. We had a beautiful double room on 4th floor with a view of both the countryside and the lake (side) . Lots of space ; big bathroom too ; well equipt ; really tastefully decorated / modern decor. Staff polite & courteous. Breakfast is basic continental. the croissants & cappuccino are delicious though! The ladies who work in the breakfast room are super friendly, polite & efficient!.

The location of the hotel was ideal and the quality of the room was exceptional for the money

The location of this hotel is amazing . Definitely recommend a lake view view. The staff were always attentive, the rooms were clean and well appointed. Bathroom seemed brand new. Breakfast was lovely, continental but lots of everything and the staff couldn’t do enough for you and were straight over to offer hot drinks when you sat down every day.

We would have liked some kind of pool or area to sit outside but we used the balcony instead.

We are a family travelling with teenagers. We booked the triple room, superior double, and double rooms for 3 nights, all with lake views. We booked early so we got a good rate. Well worth paying for the lake view. Breathtaking! Seems the rooms have been refurbished not long ago, looks fresh and new. The sound insulation is good, we did not have problem with the street noise. All rooms are accessible by lift, although one of our room required climbing a few steps, slightly inconvenient with our big heavy luggages, small issue. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable, ACs worked fine. Breakfast is decent. The walk to the pier where we catch the public ferry is about 8 min. It is a great base to explore other towns (Bellagio, Varenna, Tremezzo, Griante etc) Various good restaurants within short walking distance. Although room size compact, it has everything we needed for a restful stay. In sum, Hotel Garni Corona is good value for money. Remember to ask the Hotel for a map of the one-hour historical walking tour of the town. Must do while in Menaggio!

Staff very helpful since the moment we arrived. The room we were given was very big and perfect. We’ve stayed in hotels previously and the room was tiny and it ruined the holiday, this was not the case with Garni Corona, it was perfect. Location was also perfect. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Only slight issue was the cleaners started cleaning rooms at 06:30 and it woke us up on a couple of occasions when we heard the vacuum etc.
