Tranquil oasis in KL, perfectly located to walk / get a taxi anywhere central. Beautiful design and comfortable amenities.

Understand that the hotel uses the pool space for external events but during the time we stayed there was a wedding and all week dinner events meaning that the pool space was much reduced all day, there weren’t any pool loungers by the pool in the sun (there were some round the corner but in the shade in the afternoon and not by the pool, the rest of the loungers are in the shade). It also felt less comfortable / exclusive / relaxing being by the pool whilst large groups of people came for dinner. Hotel guests shouldn’t have to struggle to find place to relax by the pool versus external guests - would consider moving these events inside or somewhere else in the building.

You can not get such a service in other western countries at this price. The breakfast was nice according to me because I am used to asian spiciness but my friend found it too indian oriented. The service was great as expected from Asian style hospitality and the interior design was so well thought and caught both moderns and authentic spirit.

The only problem was about the constant price change seen on the booking side. we checked in two weeks from time to time and the price range was 100k USD plus/minus and because of that we have to cancel our first booking and rebooked. So this creates serious customer experience issue.

The room was super clean and had everything you needed - really loved the Asian theme. Great location - right next to the twin towers Great value for money

Having to queue for breakfast - we arrived an hour and a half before breakfast and still had to queue for one of those days. Shame as the staff at breakfast were excellent! Rooms are not sound proofed at all - you hear everything in the corridors and around.

- The location is great, within walking distance to Pavilion, Bukit Bintang & KLCC. - Easy & fast to get taxi because of its location. - The lobby smells really good (because I am very sensitive with smell, I find this very important as it sets my whole day mood) - The room is spacious, very modern with black-out feature. It's got a nice seating area which can be a day bed as well. - The bathroom is amazing: It's got this middle area where I can use as my private space to do my hair & make up, and it even has 2 wash basins, so my husband & I do not have to fight for it 😁 and of course I love the bathtub: I used it every single night to relax with nice view because it's by a window - The housekeeping staff were all nice. The service is amazing.

There is only 1: the receptionist. Maybe there is only 1 particular receptionist (while others are just okay) who appeared very cocky. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels and the way staff present themselves is what makes a difference between a 5-star establishment & those that are not. I was just surprised that the way the staff talked / responded to query was (for me) not polite (perhaps the intonation or the tone of the response). I needed something at night, when my husband called the receptionist, she turned it down, then I called back & she pointed that she has turned it down before. I was very upset with the way she talked, but to avoid ruining my holiday, I just avoided every possible communication with all receptionist during my stay.

Good location, lovely designed rooms. Staff friendly, particularly at breakfast service. Excellent selection at breakfast, particularly for vegans who can for example have alternative milks and chickpea omelette, alongside other standard Asian and western breakfast options. Appreciated the refillable glass bottles of water rather than use of plastic. Pool has nice views of the Petronas Towers. Small but good gym.

Pool doesn’t open until 8am, would be beneficial to have earlier opening hours.

I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years due to my job that involves frequent travel, and this hotel is one of the best I’ve experienced. The comfort level is exceptional, the staff is amazing, and the location is perfect. Highly recommend .

the breakfast saloon doesn’t have enough space, so you often have to wait in line, which can be quite annoying. People waiting outside makes it uncomfortable to enjoy what should be a 5-star breakfast experience. Additionally, the breakfast variety is not that extensive

Beautifully designed, charming corner bedroom, big bathroom, nice details, environmentally conscious, lovely pool area

A few minor things: The light system that didn’t allow for normal reading light per person; bathroom light that cannot be switched off; bed was rather on the hard side; breakfast was good, but waffles and pancakes were very dry; coffee (with oat milk which was nice) was the one day good but next day not 🤷🏻‍♀️. Still, I do recommend this hotel, it’s very special

I arrived at 12pm hoping they could give me early check in as it’s in the weekday, but they only allow me to check in at 3pm and ask to wait instead. No room upgrading for us even though we waited. The TV is small and outdated and wish the room is soundproof. You can hear cleaner cleaning the rooms and people walking and talking at the corridor. The basement parking smells.

The hotel is situated centrally to the stretch of malls with a short 5 minute walk to Pavillion and about 12 minutes to KLCC. We were greeted by the attentive staff upon arrival and the hotel felt like a retreat area quiet and relaxing. The room was spacious and the bathrooms were well laid out with a bath and shower. It was also had a smart environmentally friendly feature of the blockout curtains closing once you left the room to keep it cool and they would open automatically once you re-entered the room. The bathroom was well equipped with a complimentary amenities and the mini bar was stocked with a large supply of water and soft drinks. By the dipping pool there were small cabanas to sit on with the view of the Twin Towers. Breakfast was staffed by attentive staff and the spread was a mix of western and Malaysian. The highlight was trying the local fruits each morning along with the kuehs. We will definitely return to Ruma Residences as it was a very relaxing hotel which oozed calmness.

My family and I spent the days leading up to Christmas in this hidden luxury oasis in the middle of the city of Kuala Lumpur. Stepping into the beautifully appointed lobby we knew we had made the perfect choice for our family Christmas vacation. A perfect balance between the magic of Christmas for our kids and keeping to the hotel’s interior aesthetic makes this a perfect choice for families as well as an adults only vacation. The welcome and attention for the duration of our stay from the entire RuMa team was a highlight. The spacious rooms are beautiful and provide all the amenities expected in a luxury stay. Breakfast was a delicious spread of traditional Malaysian fare as well as hot and cold breakfast options which were all delicious. While we spent our mornings exploring the city, with so many attractions within walking distance from the hotel, the afternoons were reserved for lounging at the beautiful hotel pool suspended amongst the surrounding buildings. I would recommend the RuMa to anyone looking for a luxury stay in KL and we will certainly be retuning here.

The only complaint I have of our entire stay was the coffee at breakfast.
