Boath House is an absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained property. It's clear that great care and attention to detail have gone into both the décor and the surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the managers, James and Melissa, made us feel incredibly welcome. They were warm, accommodating, and genuinely friendly—just like the rest of the staff. Breakfast each morning was of high quality and by far the best we ate during our entire time whilst travelling through Scotland. The rooms are spacious, cozy, and spotless, all while retaining a sense of character and history. The gardens surrounding the property are beautifully kept, and we were lucky enough to enjoy warm, sunny weather during our stay. We made the most of it by relaxing by the lake and soaking up the sunshine.

The whole concept. Truly amazing garden. Very welcoming staff, wonderful 5 course dinner with a good and tasty wine pairing in a beautiful setting. To find this in Scotland is not easy. After dinner Angus (in charge for F&B that evening) was super nice and helpful. After dinner he offered a small whiskey tasting for us, he is a very knowledgeable and passionate whiskey Connaisseur and we learned a lot. Thanks to the whole team, it was a wonderful experience.

A bathtub as shower is completely unnecessary these days and dangerous. To serve scallops to someone with a mussel allergy and trying to convince us, that scallops have nothing to do with mussels, is dangerous too. But this are only little details which didn’t interfere with the complete super positive experience.

If you are looking for a stay that will transport you to the set of a period drama, Boath house is the place for you. We just stayed here for two serene nights and got to try both the casual restaurant and fine dining experience. Everything was delicious, staff are warm and friendly, and the stay was incredible. Also there are Shetland ponies. It’s even BETTER than the pictures! The hotel is a gorgeous, eight bedroom stone building. It is so clear the owners have carefully thought about every inch of the space, indoors and out. Everything has been impeccably designed, with no expense spared. There are feather pillows, high quality robes, a gorgeous forest sauna, classy shared lounges, and wonderful treats replenished each day in the room. The owners meet you on arrival, and help with anything you need during your stay. The garden restaurant is set within a walled garden that is just STUNNING. The hotel breakfast is served amongst the flowers. Best scrambled eggs I’ve EVER had. The indoor dining experience was 5 courses, each better than the last. The cocktails were amazing (try their Aperol Spritz, they have their own delicious twist). Overall, it was truely worth every cent we paid and I wish we could have stayed longer. Best hotel experience of my life.

Location OK, but out of main hotel. Would have been unpleasant to walk there if wet.

Service at dinner could have been better. We ordered the Wine Flight, but they forgot to bring the wine with the first course. OK, it happens, but what they did was just give us the first course wine at the end. Not what you want then really. It would have been better to offer us a digestive, either a Brandy, or maybe just a G&T. Also during dinner we were asked if we wanted more bread (it was delicious) and said yes, but then had to remind them twice to bring it. When it came, warm, asked for more butter, but by the time that came, after a reminder, the bread had cooled. Little things, as overall the food is excellent, but at the price they charge you would expect better.

A truly charming place to stay. All rooms are tastefully designed, offering a nice blend of beautiful architecture with warm, modern colours and furnishings, along with lots of comfort. All this attention to detail, the fabulous gardens with its garden kitchen cafe and the sincere, friendly staff made this a perfect stay for both my daughters and myself. Boath House is extraordinarily beautiful. Everybody that worked there was lovely. The breakfast in the Garden Cafe was delicious and we were also lucky enough to have the fine-dining in the evening which was really wonderful. I have recommended Boath House to many friends already.

Lovely well maintained period property! Comfy bed and gorgeous bath.

No mirror in the bedroom and the available mirror in the bathroom was quite a stretch from the plug point so blow drying and tonging hair was a bit of a challenge with tongs tittering on the basin (bit dangerous)

The breakfast was excellent. The location other worldly, in a very good way. Perfect for relaxing. Beautiful grounds, Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. A place with a special identity and character.

Safety made me concerned. There were unsecured mats on a wooden floor. Every time I walked on them, I could feel them moving. Even more concerning was the bath/shower. No grabrail to keep you safe ascending and descending. No special mats to stop your feet slipping inside the rounded base of the bath. A fall in such a scenario would be serious.

Beautiful location and grounds, immaculate accommodation, charming and super cosy. Restaurant and food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were welcoming, friendly and made us feel so comfortable bringing our young baby to dinner. The most lovely stay we have had in years.

This is a beautiful house, we loved the paired back decor and the calm atmosphere in the rooms. The roll top baths with views over the garden was just lovely as was the walled garden and grounds.
