The accommodations are outstanding. There is plenty of parking if you have a vehicle. The property is incredibly well kept and exceptionally clean. The full Scottish breakfast was a perfect way to start each day, and the restaurant’s chef prepared a fantastic menu for dinner as well! Having a few pints and a good scotch selection was a definite plus. You feel like you are stepping back in time in the best way possible. The staff is incredible and made our stay one to truly remember. Stuart is an absolute gem, and had the best recommendations for things to do and see in the area. The staff truly treats you like you are part of the family. There are lovely walks to take and the gardens on and near the hotel are gorgeous. This was by far and away the best hotel experience I’ve had in my life, and my wife and I can’t wait to come back someday. Staying at the historic Ramnee hotel was worth every penny!

Not applicable, we loved everything.

Charming Edwardian building with impressive woodwork throughout. Loved the entrance and staircase. Well kept and large front garden and ample parking. We had an excellent evening meal with a good selection at reasonable prices, well presented and served by friendly staff. Breakfast choices was extensive with cooked, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and toast and pastries options. All in all I have no reservations about thoroughly recommending the Ramnee. We will return!

Nothing!

While the room was quite dated, every thing was clean & the bed was exceptionally comfortable, in all I felt that the room was good value for money. While breakfast was included I was so full from the 2 courses from the restaurant the night before I decided not to go for it so cannot comment on it. The food in the bar the night before was well presented & very tasty. All the staff I encountered at the hotel were incredibly friendly, helpful & a credit to the hotel. I would be more than happy to stay there again.

There is nothing I didn’t like

The welcome and service throughout were first class. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and had everything we wanted. The bed was really comfortable. Excellent bathroom. Breakfast was superb with a wide choice including free range eggs, delicious sausages, croissants, yoghurt, fruit salad etc. All fresh. Definitely highly recommended and I hope we will have the opportunity to stay again. Worth every penny.

The room was light and airy with a big window with an attractive view from the back of the hotel. It was nicely furnished with a wooden dressing table and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was generally good with a good choice of continental items and cooked Scottish breakfast.

One of our party had poached eggs which tasted of vinegar which he didn’t like. There was no marmalade though there was a choice of jams or honey.

The staff were very friendly and bent over backwards for us 2nd room we were upgraded too was beautiful. Wee complaint would be the shower head needs upgraded.

The classic double we were given, not great. Loo seat didn't fit, mattress too soft, and shower broke. However, on complaining upgraded straightaway to a beautiful room. Breakfast limited. The bonus questions we've rated on the 1st room. Hotel could do with redecorating

Room was very comfortable and clean with all facilities in good working order. Good selection of cereals, fruit etc. was available at breakfast and menu was adequate. Toaster performance was very poor with bread hardly browning at all. Dinner table service was very good but many of the items on the menu tended to have an eastern emphasis which was not really to our taste and consequently we had to have the same meal the following evening.

As mentioned above the dinner menu, from my perspective, needs to be enlarged to give greater selection especially if the stay was more than a few days in which case would look elsewhere for the evening meal.

The Full Scottish breakfast was excellent as was everything on the menu and there was plenty of choice of breakfasts available.

Although the bathroom was fitted out with a new suite of high quality it could do with a 2 pin socket to charge a toothbrush/shaver.

Stayed at the Ramnee a few times rooms are lovely very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities in room with lovely ginger biscuits. Breakfast very good. Did not eat evening meal at hotel this time but have done before and food is always very good

We had to book a hotel very last minute as there was a problem with our other property so wasn’t expecting too much when I just searched for the cheapest place with availability but it was lovely. Staff very welcoming considering we turned up as they were closing. We got a family suite and it was great, the beds were very comfortable. Also, it is actually two rooms so the adults do not have to sit in the dark once the kids are in bed, brilliant!

The cooked breakfast wasn’t great, overcooked bacon and very milky eggs, but the options of cereals, juices etc was good.
