This was not the first time I'd stayed here and hopefully there will be many more as this is a lovely hotel with plenty of charm in an idyllic location. The food was absolutely superb and the care and attention the staff put into making it an enjoyable stay was much appreciated. There was a warm welcome and rooms were clean and comfortable. There was also ample parking space available.

The only thing I found this time was the switch on the shower was a little awkward to turn, but I really should have remembered to report it to reception as I am sure they would have sent maintenance up to take a look, everyone there was so helpful and went out of their way to make sure things were right.

Plenty of choice for a hot breakfast and the fruit salad and pastries on the buffet table were both tasty/fresh. The service was outstanding. We did not get out waitress's name but she was superb both in her service skills and in her lovely personality. She also served us for dinner the evening before and we all agreed she had made our visit more memorable just with her very positive work ethic and her very lovely & friendly personality

The water pressure in the shower could have been higher. We also found that the lighting in our room was almost too dim to allow reading

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flitwick Manor. It is such a charming property full of character. It is in a beautiful, peaceful location. It has a fabulous garden to relax in. We had such lovey weather that we sat outside in the evenings watching the rabbits at play. We were given a very warm welcome and our cases were taken up to our room. We were in Dell room. It was large and light with a huge bay window overlooking the gardens and fields beyond. Not a sound could be heard and we slept like logs. Bottles of water were replenished on each day of our stay. The bathroom had large fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers. We had dinner on the first evening which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the dining room and the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful. The hot options were cooked to order and were well presented and tasted delicious. We had a lovely goodbye as we checked out. Everything at Flitwick Manor is about making the guest feel welcomed and special.

Just a minor thing - the blind in the bathroom could do with a wee dust

The staff were superb, really friendly and very helpful. The menu was very basic but the food was lovely and well presented. It was my birthday and they gave me a lovely decorated slate with strawberries and chocolate.

The rooms looked a little tired and in need of some TLC but they were clean. Spring is always an odd time to visit and I think with a little work the hotel and grounds could be as good as the staff who are all amazing. The menu is quite basic but the food is good and well-presented particularly the desserts. It would have been nice to have some specials with local produce.

We booked the hotel and restaurant for an 80th surprise birthday party with family. From the time we booked and corresponded with the hotel team, it was absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions. The restaurant and the food is absolutely amazing! The rooms were lovely with an eye for detail. Breakfast was really nice and the grounds are just perfect. We had an amazing stay, above and beyond what we had hoped! A big thank you to everyone, from service staff to reception to Kim, the event manager. The location is really convenient to explore Milton Keynes, Bletchley Hall or Woburn Abbey.

Everything was beyond expectations!

I liked the idea of an auction to upgrade to a better room. Apparently I “won” the auction…(I could have been the only bidder for all I know) and got an upgrade to a suite with a Four poster bed for just fifteen quid. It was in a very tranquil location, with adjacent parkland.

I didn’t like the bathroom in the upgraded suite….It was the size of a small apartment but it had an open plan toilet (which should have been concealed for privacy). The bathroom had a sunken area, but they had made the raised plinth around it so narrow that it was a dangerous place to walk in the dark to get to the loo. It had two baths , where just a larger bath would have been better, and the towelling robes were hung on a hook about half a mile from the shower.

In general the property was in good condition consistent with its age and character. Traditional olde worlde-ish public rooms with old portraits etc. The first log fire of the year was a welcome feature. Some appealing details such as the decorative miniature Cleopatra's Needle standing in my room's entrance hall. And despite the age of the building, a decent number of electric sockets conveniently placed. The grounds are delightful, classic English manorial indeed. Bed large and comfortable, and of course very quiet in the midst of those spacious grounds. However it was the restaurant that stood out, a really excellent main course of confit duck, distinctly more individual than the standard pleasant French bistro offering. Not far from the M1 but you wouldn't know this once there. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely be back sooner or later.

Only deducted a mark because I prefer a shower cubicle to a shower and tub combination, but at least this tub had grab bars and was relatively easy to climb into. No lift, and steep-ish stairs, but again, it is a character property that clearly was actually once a manor house.

The staff were exceptionally helpful; Kim at the front desk resolved an IT issue with the booking very easily, a proactive attitude that was shared by all her colleagues. The decor was characterised by understated elegance and the breakfast was excellent on both days. In fact, the chef managed to prepare a delicious eggs florentine in 15 minutes, which allowed me to begin my journey home on a full stomach. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be staying again.

We chose to stay here due to the proximity to center parcs spa to save driving home so did not arrive until late evening. We found the staff extremely welcoming. The hotel is quintessentially English and we loved the character and history. Our room was very spacious and traditionally furnished with a four poster bed and antique furniture. There is no air conditioning but there was a large fan in the room which kept us cool enough on the hottest night of the year. We cannot comment on the food as we did not have breakfast due to needing to leave for a lunch engagement but the Gin and tonic’s made for us the evening before by the lovely lady running the bar were most enjoyable as we watched the sun go down.

Our room sloped at quite an angle which made the bed slope at the head end. We understand that the age of the building would make levelling the floor difficult but maybe put some blocks on the bed to level it.

Lovely place, ample parking, room was spacious/comfortable and opened up onto one of the surrounding lawns with rabbits grazing. Wifi great, staff friendly. Very peaceful. Close to center parcs. Air con in the room and a full sized bath.

No facilities on site such as a gym but there is a leisure centre close by. The food was nice but prices absolutely ridiculous for the size of the meal. Any main £30 +£5 for side veg! Any starter £11, any dessert £11. Would eat at one of the pubs or restaurants close by if I stay again! Also £17 for the cooked breakfast which was not included in the room rate despite me requesting it at booking.
