Our stay here was probably one of the most relaxing, pampered hotel experiences we've had in several years. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting all the major sights in Zagreb and the internal décor is as sumptuous as advertised. Our room was warm, comfortable and well appointed with everything one could need....we were particularly grateful for a telephone/clock which is often absent, these days and the scales in the bathroom which allowed us to check suitcase weight for our flight home. There was a good range of options for breakfast and that was served in a delightful area....however, we found it a little expensive for our dietary restrictions and therefore, after the first day, opted for the brunch menu, a little later, which was excellent. We would have liked to eat in the restaurant, in the evening, but there was no acceptable vegetarian option on the menu....we gather that the chefs are working on that! We have given top marks for the usual categories of cleanliness, value for money, etc, but must comment further on the over-riding impression we had of the staff, which really made our stay so memorable. Individual names are too numerous to mention and we made a point of thanking those people for their service before we left, but the standard of attention and the general feeling that this was a happy and professional team was remarkable. Without exception, we were treated with respect, compassion and good humour.....there really was nothing more any of the staff could have done for us and we really did feel we were leaving friends, on our departure. We appreciated the visit into the vault and learned so much more about the history of Zagreb and the origins of the hotel, itself...once again, we were so grateful for the time that was afforded us on that particular occasion; so too, for the parting gifts as we left. If time allows, we would have no qualms about visiting Zagreb again, as long as this hotel could accommodate us!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Capital Zagreb! The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Zagreb’s main attractions. The quality of the hotel exceeded my expectations, with beautifully designed rooms and top-notch facilities. But what really stood out was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. From helpful tips on where to visit, to making sure I had everything I needed, their service was truly exceptional. Highly recommend!
Honestly, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like during my stay. Everything was perfect—from the location to the service. I can't think of a single thing to fault!

With its lofty, monumental architecture, the hotel does not evoke words of admiration from guests and passers-by until they set foot into the building and enter a time machine with countless details from a bygone era. The old-school staff leaves a memorable first and last impression. Isn’t that the essence of hospitality? Their approach renders this hotel one of the best in Zagreb. Of course, some elements could be avoided and improved, such as the fake greenery in the restaurant, the obsolete information map or the menu in the restaurant. Yet, these facts do not influence the generally superb impression. The hotel’s trump card is its versatility of rooms and suites that stand out from the generic hotel average. The quality materials on display, particularly the rooms on the second floor, will undoubtedly convince you. If you seek a hotel for a boutique event for demanding clients, Capital Café is an excellent choice. For executive events, look no further than the Capital Club. What makes this hotel an obvious choice is its outstanding location. This is as close to the centre as you can find a hotel of this calibre. Capital Café is a Vienesse café with a distinct Zagreb charm. It functions as a time machine, not only a meeting space. We warmly recommend visiting, as you might be so convinced you will host your next event there.
Dear colleagues from Amadria, the retro information maps should be consigned to the past millennia, especially if they convey useless content. We hope the hotel digitises its offering and provides a QR code or another modern technological invention instead of an info map. Shampoo and soap dispensers have become standard in the hospitality industry. There is no excuse for having plastic shampoo and soap bottles. The slogans urging guests to save water almost felt like greenwashing. For starters, the hotel should measure its carbon footprint and aim to acquire certificates in sustainability.

The location is absolutely perfect. Situated in easy walking distance of both the upper and lower towns. Breakfast has a great selection of fresh fruit, cereals, juices, pastries, meats and cheeses, fresh honeycomb and hot sausages. Eggs are cooked on demand and there is even prosecco if you want it. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have stayed in - ever. And we have travelled a lot. The rooms on the second floor are exceptionally well appointed with gloriously high ceilings. The room was warm - you can control the temperature easily and the lights and plumbing in the bathroom are great. The water pressure is good and the shower is easy to work (you don't have to be a professional safe-cracker to reach the ideal temperature). The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and charming and the overall standard of this hotel was absolutely superb. I cannot think of a single thing that I would change. Complimentary prosecco on arrival and water and chocolates on our departure. The entire experience was a tour de force of professionalism in how to run a hotel and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. Thank you to everyone for a fabulous stay.
There is nothing I would change.

A very comfortable room in a central and convenient location. We were within walking distance of most sights and many tram lines are nearby. The staff were absolutely wonderful. The entire hotel is very stylishly decorated. Great bathroom with amazing selection of toiletries. The room could be quite warm at nights at first, but you can ask the front desk for them to lower the threshold of the climate control.
Only very minor points. For example, we weren’t crazy about the coffee made by the in-room coffee maker.

This is a truly wonderful hotel. Its location in the Lower Town is central and excellent. The room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities you are likely to need. The bed was first rate. The bathroom was large with an excellent walk-in shower. Breakfast was varied and outstanding. Most important of all, the staff are highly professional and warm, and they go out of their way to help you, always with a smile. I strongly recommend Hotel Capital.

Beautiful Hotel located in the center and close to major attractions. The atmosphere is very classic, and we especially loved the leisure rooms, where you can have a drink and relax in 19th century European style setting.
Breakfast is only until 10AM, which made it hard for late risers like us. Also, the music at breakfast is actually a radio station, which was a little annoying

We have had a great time here Pros- The staff from the reception Mateja, she is lovely and explained everything about the hotel and that kind way of her to check if everything is ok, her interaction which is a reflection of the hotel and it’s staff in general. We would like also to thank those guys in the restaurant, Sven and Thomazlav. Sven is a nice guy, who always check us if we need everything and checking how’s the food, amazing way. We have to say all staffs here connects well to each other. Thanks Thomaslav for sharing your cocktail Capitol 2023. Room- decent size for couple, if you have large luggages, then possibly a big room is better, thou we were given a room along the tram tracks, we manage to sleep as this will not bother us.the aircon was great and all toiletries were also given. There are also free slippers but no ironing board in case you need it. Breakfast- good choices of sausage and eggs, pastries and fruits with yogurts with fresh juices, coffee is served per cup of your choice. Gymn- Located at basement with all machine/barbels for workout.
Cons- Restaurant food- only few choices, hoping they have chicken, pork or other seafoods, meat like lamb, beef and veil but not many choices. It can be pricey for others and possibly add this menu to the website of info. Cleaning or housekeeping-during our stay, the coffee capsule was never replace and only 1 since our first day. The toiletries are great but there is no soap instead we use those toiletries.(possibly remove other item from those freebies).

This is THE hotel. Everything is just great. The staff, the position, the breakfast, the room, services, everything. There was 5 of us and all of us are agree that we have not been in the hotel where everything is so great, for a long time. The staff is extremely pleasant and not too invasive. So, you have everything you need in a second, polite and smiley and not exaggerating. So, you don't feel bothered by them and yet you got everything in an express way. The breakfast is wonderful, waiters are simply marvelous. We just felt in love with this hotel. This is our hotel for any other visit to Zagreb. Bravo djevojke i momci, ODLIČNI STE. Hvala za sve.
There was just NOTHING we didn't like. NOTHING

I had a wonderful stay in Hotel Capital. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful making my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's location is fantastic, situated close to the main attractions of the city as well as bars and restaurants. Our room was spacious with tall walls that added to the sense of space. The bathroom was well equipped and clean. Despite being in the city center where the tram passes by, I didn't hear any noise, possibly because they gave me a room with a back view. Overall, we had a great stay at Hotel Capital and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
